Rating: Summary: Great read! Review: I really loved this book, couldn't put it down until it was finished.Jane is a reporter who also writes a continuing story for a men's magazine, Luc is a hockey player with a dislike of reporters who has recently become the guardian of his teenage sister. Jane is assigned to travel with the team and cover all of the games. The guys are not thrilled (they do a little bit of harassing). Romance blossoms in the least expected place for Jane and Luc. It's a very well-written, entertaining story. The situations are very believable, which I always like. It makes me laugh, makes me a cry, makes me shiver, and go how will she/he fix this?! I love a book that lets me run the gamut of emotions. I always enjoy Rachel Gibson books, and John and Hal (retired from the Chinooks, they were in a previous book) make a small appearance with Georgie and Mae in this one.
Rating: Summary: Gibson fan and hockey lover Review: Bought the book yesterday and read it in 3 1/2 hours. Could not put it down. Very witty and romantic; enjoyed the sparring between Jane and Luc and Jane and the players. Especially loved the 'tattoo'!! I thought that was so sexy. The relationships between Luc and his sister, and Jane and her best friend gave the characters so much depth and really complimented the main story line (of Luc and Jane's blossoming love-hate relationship). Ms. Gibson is very good at sticking with realism, and that is what makes her novels so fun to read. I can't wait to see what she'll do next! See Jane Score was a truly enjoyable book and is definitely worth 5 stars! I really liked Deirdre Martin's 'Body Check' as well! P.S. The author clearly knows the ins and outs of hockey! Very impressive!
Rating: Summary: More Hockey books PLEASE! Review: This was my first Rachel Gibson book. I LOVED IT. I think she should wright more Hockey books. I want the whole team to have a story. For those of you who haven't read the book, Luc has this Tattoo. A (Lucky) Horseshoe. WOW! (I want my husband to get one.) This is a Great Book. I know nothing about Hockey and was not sure I would like this book. When I ordered it, I had also bought 2 other romance books and I read them first, thinking somewhere in the back of my mind that I wasn't sure about this because of the Hockey. Come to find out, I had saved the Best for Last...
Rating: Summary: Your Going To Love This Book!! Review: I love Rachel Gibson's books. She has such witty characters, dialogue, and storylines that you are easily sucked into her world! In See Jane Score we re-visit the game of hockey and the Seattle Chinooks hockey team. Jane Alcott is a writer who is responsible for writing a colum about living a Single Girl existance and she also writes a steamy on going story of Honey Pie. While Jane is creative in her writing she is not creative in real life. In fact she only wears gray, black, and white and lives the life of a nun. All this is about to change for Jane when she accepts a part-time job as a sports reporter that covers the Chinooks games. Of course Jane knows nothing about the game but that can be fixed. Luc "Lucky" Martineau is the goalie for the Chinooks, he is big, bad, and wanted by the women. He also has no need for reporters especially the female variety. Just wait until he gets a look at Jane. She is a mouse, has no idea how to dress, and worse knows nothing about his sport--yet he finds himself drawn to the reporter and that is not good! Of course both Jane and Luc have enough emotional baggage that would choke an elephant and of course this will be carried into the budding relationship that grows between these two people but fear not there is a happy ending! And their struggle with this extra stuff is funny, touching and just plain fun to read about! This was a great book and it was full of Ms. Gibson's trademark wit and humor! The chemistry between the two characters is beyond hot and you will find yourself unable to put the book down!
Rating: Summary: Fun and Quick Chick Lit... Review: "See Jane Score" by Rachel Gibson is a good "chick lit" read. It features Jane Alcott who, as a reporter, is somewhat of a dichotomy. She writes "Single Girl in the City" for the Seattle Times, yet she also writes a monthly "soft-porn" column, which features "Honey Pie" and her escapades. In truth, Jane is NOTHING like Honey Pie and only a few people know that she actually writes the column. When she lands a job covering Seattle's hockey team, she has to travel with the team and interview them in the locker room. The team does not take kindly to women reporters and her life is very lonely at times. Things start to get interesting with Lucky - the star goalie of the team. And their adventures turn this into a fun, quick, read.

Rating: Summary: A Witty and Funny Story Review: Jane Alcott is a columnist for the Seattle Times where she writes a weekly column called "Single Girl in the City" that is widely read. However her Times column isn't read nearly as widely as the column she writes for a men's magazine, called, "The Life of Honey Pie". Honey Pie is a wise cracker who tends bar in a swank establishment, beds all the hunks she wants, does anything she wants, not like the Jane who writes about her at all. The owner of the Seattle Chinooks asks her paper to assign her to cover their games and all of a sudden Jane is a sports reporter. And let me tell you I almost fell out of my chair laughing the first time she had to go into the men's locker room. All those handsome naked men and Jane afraid to look. What a riot. Luc Martineau is the Chinook goalie. He never gives interviews, has bad knees he's trying to keep secret, has a sister he's raising and before long has a thing for Jane. He is obstinate, handsome, endearing, refreshing and is one heck of a hunk. And like the rest of the team, he doesn't particularly want a female report dogging the team. This is a funny as can be book about two characters that will steal your heart as they figure out their way in a relationship that neither one wants, but one they don't want out of either. Ms. Gibson has certainly scored with this story and you will too if you give it a chance, because it is just a fabulous read.
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Review: I usually do not read "romance" or "chick lit" fiction, but based on the almost-unanimously positive reviews I had read about this book (including here, on the Amazon.com website), I bought this title as a spur-of-the-moment purchase - and I was NOT disappointed! If you are looking for a really fun book to read, with two very likable main characters (who you root for to get together), good supporting characters, and a breezy, sassy sense of humor, look no further! Jane and Luc (the two main characters) are much more than what they appear (brainy, uptight, "mousy" reporter and macho, arrogant, shallow jock), on the surface. The more I learned about each of these two individuals, as the reader (and the more these two characters learn about each other as the story unfolds), the more I wanted them to be happy... and end up together! Their chemistry is sizzling! This book is a really great fun read, that will make you believe in "happily ever after". It's a keeper, and it gets an enthusiastic "thumbs-up" from this (usually) literary fiction reader!
Rating: Summary: An Exciting Read!! Review: This book was one of those that I had a hard time putting down. First, because the protagonist, Jane Alcott was such an engaging heroine. I liked her spunk and determination. Also, I learned a bit about hockey, which I know nothing! It was interesting to look at sports from a reporter's point of view. Also, the interaction between Jane and Luc were wonderful! It's not often that I lose sleep over a book, but this was one fabulous exception!
Rating: Summary: The best romance I've read in months (and I read lots!) Review: Others have recapped the plot, so I won't. I will just say that I grabbed this book after reading Gibson's more recent "Daisy" book and I loved it. It has a sense of humor, an alpha male hero who's not a cartoon character, and a smart, likeable heroine who wears cow pajamas. The obstacles to the relationship are neither so contrived as to be irritating nor so severe as to keep you from rooting for these two to get together. I love books that thrill me, entertain me, are filled with sassiness and sexiness and *don't* insult my intelligence. This is right at the top of my list of favorites.
