Summary: Game of Chance
Review: This was a good story. I did enjoy it very much. However, I am getting sick and tired of hearing about men who have "needs" and can't keep themselves from sleeping around until they find the "right one." I can't say I appreciated Chance's nonchalance about sleeping around to "get" information. YUK! I think a romance can be written without displaying every little detail about the character's sex life. But all in all it was a good story and the Mackenzies are an intriging lot. :)

Summary: Howard comes out swinging and pulls no punches with this one
Review: I have been waiting for so long and so hard for this story to come out that when it finally arrived, I just put the book on the counter and watched it as if it were a snake. I was wary about reading it because the wait had been so long and the hype so much that I felt sure there was no way this story would meet all of my unreasonable expectations for it. IT MET AND EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS ! The book looks like a nuclear fall-out victim now. When I went to bathe, the book came with me and got a little wet. When I cooked dinner the book came with me and got a little oil stained. When I changed my daughter's diaper....well, never mind that now. My nose didn't come out of that book until I had closed the back cover, and I promptly turned the book over to read it again. Chance and Sunny became so real to me. Chance is possibly her sexiest hero ever. I knew I was in for a good trip when Howard described Chance riding a motorcycle in Chapter One and I had to start fanning myself.Sunny takes "moxy" to a whole new level. These two were evenly matched every step of the way-I could see very clearly why she would fall for him and why he would fall for her. The steamy parts weren't steamy-they were nuclear! This book was a one-two punch knock out for Linda Howard!

Summary: An incredible story!
Review: Like every other Mackenzie fan I waited and waited for this book and it was well worth it. It's Linda Howard at her best! From the first pages you're yanked in and you can't get back out until you've finished the book (which you'll do in one sitting) - you can't put it down. Chance and Sunny are well-developed - you feel for them the moment you meet them. Your emotions run high as you follow them through their adventure and you cry for them in the end. What a great ending to one of the best romantic series I've ever read.

Summary: A Game of Chance
Review: WOW! For those of us who have read it, did it make you fall in love all over again? If you haven't read it go get it QUICK! I hate to see them go I absolutely love ALL the Mackenzies'. If you are a Linda Howard fan this book is everything you expect from her and MORE. Chance was well worth the wait. I know this is supposed to be the final book, but I for one hope to see the FABULOUS MACKENZIES again!

Summary: Mackenzie-clan, the final lines
Review: A game of Chance is a book that looks like Chance. It's a story of an adopted son growing to a fine warrior and accepting his heritage. Both Chance and Sunny have their own big chips on their shoulders and they have to get rid of them before they can truly fall in love.

This book is written in the 20 the century. Begin from the cover, it is different from SIM:s. The publisher understood that this one will sell much more than the usual SIM. Second-hand bookstores will love this one, because it is a keeper. That means rare copies sell out -> higher prices. And because of the series all the other Mackenzie-books will be wanted, too.

But why a foreigner like me from a far away country likes Howard's books? Because:

"...Zane asked, leaning back in his chair and smiling at his wife with that lazy look in his pale eyes that said he liked what he was seeing." All the Mackenzies adore their women, Chance is no exception. He doesn't like to be touched, Sunny either, but though out this book they find themselves closer and closer.

Definitely a keeper.

Summary: Sterile and detached.
Review: Sameness as all her other books. Her use of repeat words to bolster and describe the image of the male hero was typical of her style. I started out reading Linda Howard with her first book many years ago and I get the distinct feeling she's tired of writing. I think her writing peaked in the late 80's early 90's. That's not to say that her recent books weren't good...I especially enjoyed All the Queen's Men, but A Game of Chance was so formula that I felt detached when I read it. Its also my opinion that the market has changed and there are plenty of better writers now. No disrespect, Ms. Howard deserves her place in the romantic literature hall of fame, as does Jane Austen, but its time to move on.

Summary: WONDERFUL WRAP UP!
Review: I started this series in the middle (Mackenzies Pleasure), and then backtracked my way to the rest. After reading all of the preceding books in the series, it had been a major frustration to me that someone like Chance didn't have his own book. THIS ONE DEFINITELY WAS WORTH THE WAIT! What a fantastic story book ending to the series. I can see why Linda Howard doesn't want to write anymore on this series. It's wonderful to see all the old characters we grew to know and love from before. Even better to see they haven't really changed. I ripped open the package and read the entire book cover to cover in one sitting. In this case, my rush paid off. The end of this book was like saying goodbye to friends while knowing anytime we wanna visit, we can pick up their book and they'll still be the same for us. WHAT A STORY!

Summary: a game of chance
Review: Not bad for an average Linda Howard book, but certainly not her best, nor a closure for the Mackenzie family. Story line same as joe's, maris, and zane. Could not wait to get, and actually put it down for a day or two, something i rarely ever do with Linda Howard's books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Another Winner by Linda Howard
Review: I have enjoyed all of the Mackenzie series, with the possible exception of Maris' story, but this is one of the best of the series. Chance is a man just about any woman could fall for, and is such a compelling character. Sunny is intelligent and possesses a wry sense of humor. Linda Howard is in my top two favorite author bracket, and she will firmly stay put with this contribution.

Summary: Savored EVERY moment!
Review: I just adore the MacKenzie series! When I finally got A Game of Chance I couldn't wait to read it! I enjoyed every minute of Chance and Sunny's adventures! It is so steamy! Linda Howard I salute you! This one is among the BEST!
