Summary: Spellbinding
Review: As again, Beverly Jenkins has done it again. I started reading this on a Saturday morning around 11am was unable to put it dowm. I finally completed it around 10:30pm. I was disappointed that I was at the end. The characters were very believable and I was able to visualize everything, I hurt, laughed and cried.
She continues to satisfy her readers. I have everything that she has written, and anticipate the release of "The Edge Of Dawn" , I have already purchase a copy thru Amazon.com . I look forward to the experience again ! Of being transported , to another place.
Lastly, thank you for mentally romancing me, I feel soo go after reading your novels. It transports me to another place and lets me keep hoping that there is true love out there.

Summary: Historicals or Contemporary??
Review: Beverly Jenkins has proven she can go "both ways". This book, with descendents (Graysons/Vashons)from her historicals is a great read and the characters are so strong, independent, and still working to help The Race regardless to the era. Mykal Chandler could be broke and still be awesome; Sarita, as with all of Ms Jenkins' women is a sista that makes one proud to be a woman. Dragons and Little Red Riding Hood will now have a different meaning for me. I hope Saint will have a story in the future. This book was worth the wait, Ms Jenkins. However, I hope we don't have to wait too long for another. Keep up the good work, Lady.

Summary: Modern or Historical - Beverly Jenkins is a Genius
Review: Beverly Jenkins is an awesome writer. I have read all of her books and can't wait to read future books. I wasn't quite sure that I would like "The Edge of Midnight" when I discovered it would be a modern-day romance novel and not one of her usual historical romance novels, but I should have never doubted Ms. Jenkins. The book starts out with a bang and just get better and better. The two lovers Mykal & Sarita are both strong-willed yet, they compliment each other perfectly and the passion and heat between them radiates from the pages. The addition of mystery, danger, suspense and the great secondary characters make this book a keeper. I can't wait to read Drake's and Saint's story.
Of course the fact that the book is based in my hometown is a extra special gift.

Summary: Beverly Jenkins will not disappoint you.....
Review: I also wondered whether I would enjoy a present day Beverly Jenkins novel because I had grown accustomed to historical romance. She has not disappointed me and she certainly didn't this time. Her descriptions really make you visualize the characters. I can't wait until the next book is out!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I am a huge fan of Beverly Jenkins. She consistently delivers and that's what makes me purchase her books without even reading the back cover. I was surprised that she wrote a contemporary novel, but being a fan, I knew it was going to be good. And then, to learn how she hooked the 2 main characters to some of her previous characters, it was absolutely brilliant!! Oh my goodness! I can't wait until her next novel, but I appreciate the fact that Ms. Jenkins takes her time when writing, so I know that the wait will be well worth it. Great read, great storyline, great book. I look forward to rereading it!!

Summary: LOVED IT!! Couldn't put it down!
Review: I have read all of Beverly Jenkins's historical novels and found each one exceptional. However, this is the first time I have been compelled to write. When I received my book and read the back cover, I must admit that I was surprised (and a little leery). I should have known that although the setting was different, the qualities that I look for from Ms. Jenkins were still there (I'll never look at the story of Little Red Riding Hood quite the same way ever again!). All of the characters were vibrant, and I even found myself admiring Faye at the novel's end.
Athough I adored Sarita and Mykal (extra points to Ms. Jenkins for having them be descendants of two of the couples from my favorite historical novels!) Saint really intrigued me, and I would love to see him get a story of his own.
Good work, Ms. Jenkins! I look forward to your next novel.

Summary: MS JENKINS HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!
Review: I have read most of Beverly Jenkins' novel and have yet to be disappointed. I was kind of surprised when I saw that she had written a contemporary novel but because her reputation is so well known for her talent to tell a story, I bought the book anyway. I was not disappointed which really comes at no surprise. I felt like I knew Sarita and Mykal. They are people that I know in my heart. I loved the fact that she kept the story in Detroit, since I'm a native. I especially loved how she incorporated her historical novels with those characters from her contemporary one by making them descendants. I always feel like I'm part of the family when I read her books and she defines the closeknit family unit that is vital to Afrian American culture. And she put Detroit in a good light, though I already knew. The restaurants, the house, the people are not all bad and full of crime EVERYWHERE. And as a native Detroiter, that's what I really appreciated. Madam, if you ever read this, know that you have done it again. May you only soar higher!

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Review: I loved this book! Sarita has become one of my favorite heroines of all time! And trust me, that list is not crowded. I loved her tenacity, her spunk. More than anything else, I loved how she saw the beauty in the simplier things in life. She was not materialistic nor was she intimidated by Mykal or his wealth.

Mykal......hmmmmmm, what a man! He first got me on pages 181-182; whispering to Sarita about the lovemaking they possibly shared in past lives. Mmmmm, made me shiver just reading it! Then when she was trying to prepare breakfast Thanksgiving morning! Oh my!! I know I would never look at that kitchen the same anymore!

Sarita made Mykal love her, without much effort. Just simply being who she was, made him see that she was exactly what he needed in his life! I even wanted to cry for him when she was shot.

Saint, oh my, Dark, mysterious and sly. Oh Beverly, I SMELL a sequal. Would love to read about the woman who can bring the elusive one to his knees.

I loved this book! Beverly, your venture into contemprary is definitely a hit! Keep it up!! Once again, I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Summary: GREAT
Review: I loved this book. Beverly Jenkins is truly a gifted writer. I've enjoyed all of her historic romance novels and wondered if I would like this one as much, and I truly did. I read this book in one day --- just couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one.
