Rating: Summary: Not fun at all Review: I love Joanna Lindsey. I have all her books. I love time travel romances. The kind that sweep you back and make you feel like 'I wish that could happen to me'. Boy would I have fun showing off the things we can do now! This one was sooo boring. It was more like a history lesson, and not that much dialog between them and no chemistry what so ever. A 29 year old virgin?? Get real. And, when Rose went into the past, she started to talk like someone in the past instead of taking her personality with her. She was too worried about shocking Thorne with the modern day things like planes and such, and I kept thinking how funny it would be to shock him! My favorite books from Lindsey are the historical's or western themes. I don't care for the future stuff either. This one is not that great and no fun at all. But I will continue to buy ever book Lindsey publishes, because she is a great writer... everyone has a bad day... or book... :)
Rating: Summary: A Decent Romance Novel Review: I love Johanna Lindsey, and this is a well written book, like hers always are! The only thing that didn't appeal to me was the time travel aspect. As I am not a big science fiction fan, It wasn't really my thing. But if you love romance, and science fiction/fantasy, this book is for you! The viking mythology was very interesting too.
Rating: Summary: Good Time Travel Review: This is one of the best of Johanna Lindsey's recent novels that I've read in a long time. And I have read almost all of her books.UNTIL FOREVER is very funny and entertaining. The lovers had pretty good chemistry together. There is much historical detail with the Viking Era. Sometimes, the twists and turns of the numerous time travel episodes got a bit confusing to keep up with, but all in all, this was a good read.
Rating: Summary: Back to the Future Review: This was the first book I read that dealt with someone going back in time. I thought it was great. Since then I have read several others. I always wondered what it would be like living in a different century. I thought it was funny to see this Viking in the twentieth century. I must say she seemed to fit in his century better then he did in hers.
Rating: Summary: Another Opinion Review: I'm not a big SF fan except in Movies, but I think Dana Titirca's Review "Beautifully mastered combination of romance and time-travel" says it best. Read the review and the book. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Beautifully mastered combination of romance and time-travel Review: Almost all of Mrs. Lindsey books are great, and I won't begin to write a review about each one of them. What made me feel I HAD to say something about this one is the fact that it is very, very different from the others. Aside from romance books I'm partial to SF books (you may think this a strange combination, I assure you it is not :) ) and it certainly was great to see a love-story combined with a time-travel adventure sooo beautifully. What surprised me most, as I had not expected it, is that Mrs. Lindsay payed very much attention to the time-travel paradoxes and everything fell into place nicely, solved in good old SF style. I had not expected this from a romance-writer, there are certainly many SF writers out there who do not tie up all loose ends and who make mistakes when trying to deal with alternate history lines and the like. OK, enough about this. Besides, it's not the only good thing about the book. The story is also very funny (the situation of a man from the past thrown into present is always hilarious). I have to confess also that I never knew so many details about the Norman conquest before :). The ending... well, it lets you understand whatever you want. Mrs. Lindsey wraps it up nicely both for those of us who believe in fantastic adventures and for those who do not. Well, I know for sure which category I fall in...
Rating: Summary: A potentially cheesy topic, handled beautifully. Review: I admit that I am a HUGE fan of Johanna Lindsey, as well as a fan of Norse history. But I was nervous when starting this. I have seen far too many books and movies about modern people traveling to past times, and it is rarely handled well. The modern people are either complete morons (a la Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure), or they seem to fit in perfectly. This did neither. While the main character had studied enough about the time period to understand it well, she still reacted as any modern woman would. I also liked the ending, as it allowed you to believe whatever you want about the actions in the book.
Rating: Summary: What a Dream! Review: This is the best Johanna Lindsey book ever! I love the Malory series, and all the rest for that matter, but this book is wonderful! I wish my dreams were this magical.
Rating: Summary: Until Forever Review: I am not a big fan of science fiction, time travel or anything funky like that so being a big fan of JL I bought the book without reading what it would be about until I got it. Needless to say I was disappointed and I put the book on my shelf and forgot about it for six months. When I finally read it I could have kicked myself for not reading it sooner. It was excellent! The heroine was just what you would expect for a nineties woman and it was interesting finding out how she would react to the Middle Ages and the restrictions that were forced on women. The ending was positively inspirational! JL has one of the best imaginations out there and I can't wait to read her next book.
Rating: Summary: Sorry Johanna, but not one of your best Review: I have all of Johanna Lindsey's books, and this is most definitely NOT one of the better stories. I found this story very difficult to read, and didn't think much of the romance between Thorn and Roseleen. Overall I was very disappointed with Until Forever.
