Rating: Summary: I could not put it down. Review: This was the best time-travel romance I have yet to read. I shall surely re-read it many times over. Well written, humorous, sensitive, historical, everything a romantic novel should be. I had to finish it in one sitting, for I could not put it down. I cannot say enough of this book: if you like this subject, this book is a MUST READ.
Rating: Summary: execellent! couldn't put it down! Review: Lynn Kurland continues with another wonderful book! This one had me smiling and giggling all the while. The characters were very good. I really liked the idea that even though fate had screwed up, it found a way to bring two people what they really needed in there lives- someone to love and be loved by. Also, the "G" rating was refreshing. I sometimes get tired of all the sex in other books and so I skip over it to get right to the story part- there was no need to skip one word in this book. A very good read! I highly recommed it.
Rating: Summary: i couldn`t put it down Review: i have only been touched by characters such as these twice before. i absolutley love time travel romances and consider myself an expert. while i read about jamie and elizabeth, i kept a silly grin on my face. some times i just laughed out loud.other times i had tears streaming down my face. my husband thought i was crazy. ms.kurland is so good at describing faces, places and personalities. big strong jamie`s face etched with fear and wonder, sent me into giggles i couldn`t control for 15 minutes.the love story touched my heart and left me wanting more. i can`t wait to get my hands on ms.kurland`s other books. jude deveraux, and diana gabaldon have definetly got new competition.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I absolutely adored this book. Elizabeth and Jamie were perfect for each other. Jamie was so strong and yet so sensitive to the needs of everyone around him (and the fact that he was drop-dead gorgeous doesn't hurt.) Elizabeth was self-assured enough not to lose her own identity when dealing with such a strong personality as Jamie's. This book was beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely charming story! Review: I'm not really a fan of Lynn Kurland but I did love her book A Dance Through Time. I had a stupid grin plastered to my face through the entire book. Even through it is a rated-G novel I highly recommend it. The hero has some very humorous lines and a personality that you won't soon forget.
Rating: Summary: An interesting concept, but somewhat dull. Review: Although this book has an interesting concept (and I am intrigued by time travel), it was somewhat dull. I enjoyed some of the story and did finish the book. However, the characters seemed a bit sophmoric (particularly the female) and Ms. Kurkland needs to take a course in writing love scenes -- this book is definitely rated "G."
Rating: Summary: Absolutely delightful and one to reread frequently! Review: This is one story which I thoroughly enjoyed. Ms. Kurland draws full, rich characters for both the hero (Jamie) and heroine (Beth). Elizabeth on her own is a little bland, but once she meets her Jamie, then magic occurs! With humor infused throughout the story, I have frequently been seen to either be laughing or grinning during my commute while reading! Even the secondary characters are all well-drawn, and the reader can often affectionately look at them to see their latest antics.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining Review: This book has some very amusing moments in it, but Elizabeth's crying and whining is so annoying that I had to keep putting the book down. This is the first book of L. Kurland's that I have read, so I will give her another chance. Hopefully, the heroine will be a little bit stronger.
Rating: Summary: The worst romance I have read this year Review: I read some fifty romances every year, and this book qualifies as the worst read in 1998. The heroine whines and persists in acting stupidly. She's good at cooking and cleaning. The romantic elements are quite unsatisfying.
Rating: Summary: Overall nice read, despite ... Review: I enjoyed reading this book, even though there were times the story line was hard to except. The idea of time travel is fun and can be intriquing however the time hopping in this story I found a little to much and just too convienent. The romance was fun to read and I enjoyed the interaction between the characters, however it was just a little bit of a reach to think that the main character would understand 13th centruy Gaelic and that the male character would immediately understand 20th century English. I have just finshed Ms. Kurland's book, Stardust of Yesterday and thought the story line was alittle better thought out.
