Summary: A sweet story...
Review: Elizabeth Smith got her happiness from the world of fiction. Writing romances, Elizabeth enjoys her life. When she first dreams of a fierce Scotland warrior, she is convinced she needs a vacation. In an attempt to clear her head, she takes a walk to a park nearby her house...and wakes up in fourteenth century Scotland. Realizing that she is stuck in 1311, Elizabeth tries to make the best of her situation, and soon finds herself falling in love with the Laird of the clain McLeod.

Jamie McLeod follwed his father's tradition in not allowing women in his keep. That changes when Elizabeth is found in the forest surrounding the keep. Believing her as a witch, Jamie banishes her to the dungeon and makes plans to burn her at the stake. Too late he looks through Elizabeth's things and realizes that she is from another time and not the witch he has dubbed her.

The days that follow will bring a smile to the readers face. Jamie is endearingly sweet and at the same time fiercly masculine. Elizabeth was not put off by Jamie's gruff manner which will endear her to the reader. I have read other reviews about not liking that Jamie returned to Elizabeth's time, but Kurland brings the story about in a way that to not return to the twentieth century would unravel the threads of time and change the future. I immensely enjoyed this book!

Summary: Wonderful...
Review: This was really a wonderful book. Like another commenter wrote, it is very modest compared to some books out there. I have a thing for the Scottish time-travel stories, so I read of the Karen Marie Moning books. They were good too, but not at all modest. This book does imply sex, so it leaves the rest up to your imagination, which can be pleasant.

One reviewer said the hero is a creep. Being a medieval Grad student, I can say he was actually tame compared to real history. Actually I liked the "bad" treatment he first gave the heroine. Given the time period, he can't trust her. Plus, men weren't taught to "be in touch" with their feelings back then. It added a touch of realism. These were violent times and a little violence is perfectly understandable.

There were only three things I didn't like. One was that the heroine was a little too forgiving at times and didn't have enough spunk. I don't think she was wimpy, but she could have fought back some more.

The second thing was more personal. My history studies are focusing of ancient and medieval Scotland. Plus I've enjoyed these books, so I decided to try my own hand at writing. I only have about 50 pages so far, but this book scared me. I had yet to read it and hadn't read the same ideas in other books. However, the authoress used many ideas I had written. I felt like I was copying someone I had never read before. I still have many of my own ideas and didn't write things exactly the same, so I feel a little safer. I was jumpy through the book though after the beginning, just waiting for my best scene to appear.

The third has to deal with my love of history. Granted Kurland isn't an historian, but I would have loved to seen more history. Instead, the first half of the book just skims over the times and keeps to the inside of the castle. That's one thing I loved about the Outlander series, was all the history Gabaldon put into her books.

Overall, this book was really good. The mixture of love and hate was a great combination. Strife is always a good theme.

Summary: Disappointing - Drip for a Heroine, Creep for a Hero -
Review: I had just finished reading "The More I See You" and picked this book up directly following that enjoyable experience. MISTAKE!!!
This precursor unsuprisingly is filled with similar elements, but fails where the other succeeded. First off, who cares about some drip frigid virgin who won't even let her HUSBAND watch her take a bath? I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in that. I literally threw the book from me after I cringed through that passage. I couldn't take anymore. Second, this was worse, but somehow, God knows how, I pushed past this point, earlier in the book that same drip of a heroine FORGAVE a man who'd held her down while others tried to gang rape her. I'm sorry, but that's horrific. The guy is supposed to be simple minded, but I think her actions only prove the heroine is simpleminded. She's someone I'd like to shake until that pea brain of hers rattles some sense into her head. Okay, so she forgives him, if you can accept that, can you accept that she allows him to be her bodyguard???

I much preferred "The More I See You" by the same author. At least that heroine is plucky and admirable and tames her gruff love interest, and he in contrast to Jaime McLeod has an intriguing and appealing personality! Plus he sounds much hotter and attractive personally. I can see the love affair in that book. With this one, the heroine just deals with the so-called hero's mercurial inexplicable violent moods and distrustfull attitude while opining to herself how much she loves him. I'm still asking myself, WHY would anyone love that creep? In the end the only answer that matters is Who Cares!!! Forget buying this book if you expect more from your heroes and heroines.

Summary: A modest book..good reaad..Great story
Review: This was an excellent book. I read Romance novels every weekend and I am used to reading novels that have heavy sexual encounters, light wit, and extended story line until the heavy sex can come into play because of course the girl is always a frightened virgin who happened to save herself for the right man (even if he does live 700 years in the past).
But this book was wonderful...There were innuendo's as far as the love scenes were concerned..it may be considered a little light and some what teasing and misleading for those who are used to Beatrice Smalls novels, but for those of you who are lavryle spencer readers (like I started out) this brings you back to modest, love that leaves you to imagine the physical actions between the hero and the heroine...not everything needs to be spelled out step by step...A great novel with charming characters....A good read.

Summary: One of the best authors I have read.
Review: I came accross Lynn's book stardust of yesterday & fell in love with her books. I don't need to read a review before I decide to buy her books, I buy because Lynn has written it. Her name on a cover of a book is enough for me.

I love books that come in series & Lynn's do. With the Macleod's & the Piagetts you have two wonderful families & a lot of wonderful books to read.

This story is about Elizabeth who is sent back in time to medieval Scotland & meets the Laird Jamie Macleod. The story is wonderful & very funny, not to mention very sensuous. It will have you laughing out loud at some of the antics they get up to.

Thank you Lynn for giving us this series.

Summary: An Escape from everyday!
Review: It can't happen in reality, that's what makes it so great! Lynn Kurland's writing style is impressive. She gets you so involved with the book you don't want to put it down, and you don't want it to end. Her storyline is exceptional and the characters a hoot. The love scenes aren't detailed, which leave you with your imagination. I like that. Too much detail in a love scene detracts from a book in my opinion. You won't be disappointed with this book or any of Lynn Kurland's books. I have read them all and they are on my bookshelves to stay.

Summary: Good Book...
Review: I thought that this was a good book, great at times, but I would buy it used.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good story, very soft core
Review: This has a very good story, good characters, you can definitely get into it. I have been reading more explicit novels I guess though cause I found the love scenes definitely lacking, more like a reference to the fact that they made love instead of taking you through it. But I liked the writing style enough to buy more of her books.

Summary: A Major Disappointment
Review: This book was disappointing. I didn't even finish it because it was so boring. Lynn Kurland's other books were very good, but this one ranked very low on my list of good books. The characters seemed implausable and did not fit the usual characteristics. And it was a bit unbelievable that the hero of the book was 30 something and had never kissed a woman.
I would not recommend this book. It's a waste of time and money. Definately not worth reading.

Summary: Wonderful Romance! I loved it!
Review: I had put off reading this book for ages and I am sorry I did so. I found this book to be wonderful. It has humor, excitement, passion and tenderness all wrapped up in a beautifully written story. The characters are enchanting, the settings beautifully described that you almost feel as if you are there talking to the characters.

The story is first set in 1996, New York. Our heroine, Elizabeth is a struggling romance writter who has just dreamed the most romantic dream of her life. She can't shake the dream and even imagins she hears the hero's voice. She picks up a book on Scottish history and its Clans, and comes across the Clam MacLeod. She suddenly finds herself not in a New York Park but in the woods in 1311 Scotland. She is taken as a witch and the hero of her dreams, the MacLeod, throws her in the dungeon. He soon realizes that he can't forget her. She has haunted his dreams and now his every waking moment. He is clueless on how to deal with a woman, especially a woman from the future. He struggles with his feelings for her until love wins.
Elizabeth is trying very hard to adjust to James and his boarish ways and soom finds that even if she could go home she doesn't want to.

The secondary characters are wonderful and I can't wait to read other books in the series to find out what happens to them. I laughed and cried over this book and know that I will read and reread it many times. Its a true romance classic.
