Summary: The Best JG book....EVER!!!!!!!!
Review: The thing about Sara is that I identify with her!!! She's REAL, and unlike those prissy heroines in other novels, Sara is charming! Her flaws are so cute I can only wish that I was as lucky to get by with my own clutziness! Of course in true Garwood fashion, Nathan is the virle, manly hero (girls do we really want a character who is not?) However, he is puzzled with what to do with Sara, their exploits together are hysterical!!! And to all those who say Sara is whiny!!! Well bugger off! I can't think of a single person in real life who would go through so much to protect the ones they love!!
GET THIS BOOK!!! Sara...think Sailor Moon and Meg Ryan, yea thats it!

Summary: Quite possibly my favorite Julie Garwood book!
Review: Enjoyable book! Interesting, lovable characters... I could really see the progression of the romance all throughout the book. This is a good mixture of romance and humor.

This book is up there with Garwood's greatest books--For the Roses, The Bride, etc.

Summary: Love The Gift
Review: I totally fell in love with this book. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I could feel the love that Sara had for Nathan even though it took him a while to go get her. This book made me laugh and cry as well. once again i loved this book

Summary: One of Garwood's best
Review: For years the St. James and the Winchesters have hated it each other. King George, not all there in his old age, has decided to end the feud by declaring that the young (14 years old) Marquees of St. James, Nathan, marry the daughter of the Earl of St. James, Sara. To sweeten the deal the King added a contract that would give Nathan and Sara a gift: a large piece of land and a great deal of gold once the marriage was consummated. If one of the couple backed out however, the other got the gift. There would be a great deal of time before the marriage is carried out however, as Sara is only 4 years old. And both sides want the gift.

Many years later Nathan has decided to finally retrieve his bride. He faces problems however from her family who don't want them to become true man and wife. Nathan, who was once the pirate Pagan, is finally forced to plan to kidnap Sara and sail away on his ship, and keep her there some months until the two families can come to terms with the marriage, and the couple can complete the marriage contract. Sara has always had romantic notions about her husband and this rough pirate is not what she imagines. Despite that she easily falls in love with him, as she has planed to do her whole life. Nathan, though he likes Sara, does not fall in love so quickly. But Sara will settle for not less than love.

This story is, in my opinion, one of Garwood's best. I loved the characters, especially Sara. On the ship she causes many funny mishaps, while she tries to make a good impression on her new husband an his crew. She almost poisons the crew and sets the ship on fire. Other characters brought back from previous books are Jade, Cain, Jimbo, and Matthew. The Plot was fast paced, and if there were any slow parts near the end, you won't mind too much.

Summary: hilarious and heart rending
Review: If you are a romantic at heart, as I am, you will love this story. You will find yourself at times, agitated, scared for Sarah, and then when you least expect it, laughing out loud. I have read this book at least 15 times over, and it continues to be my favorite of all time!

Summary: A Laugh-Out-Loud Read!
Review: "The Gift" is one of the most heartwarming, funny, romantic books I've ever read and I am an avid reader. In the beginning with Sara as a child and Nathan as a young teen really caught my heart from the protectiveness that Nathan showed. Sara is so naive that its just adorable! The dialogue in the book is absolutey genious, and so are the situations that Sara finds herself in. Nathan is one of the poster boys for the gruff, devilishly handsome, men of the sea and its just wonderful how he takes care of Sara and tries...i mean really tries to accept Sara's antics. After you read "The Gift" the "3 parasol scenes" will stay in your minds. I won't elaborate, but I laughed until tears were in my eyes and all those that have read it...the "chimney" was not a chimney at all! READ IT!!! IT'S WORTH IT!!! Oh Yea! Not to say that this book was all humor, but its just a very heartwarming book like I have already said!

Summary: A keeper!
Review: A romance wrought with humour ... ? Nathan (our sensational hero) is handsome, arrogant, and totally perplexed by Sara, his child bride. Forced to marry, at their (crazed) Kings whim, Nathan has not seen Sara since their wedding day .... when she was 3 years old! Sara is a truly wonderful heroine, a winsome beauty whose antics and wilfulness will have you chuckling anew. This romance has it all - a humorous storyline filled with romance, love, and passion; you will read this book again and again .... totally worth the read!! Julie Garwood's unique style of writing will always have you come back for more! In two words: a keeper!

Summary: Another Garwood masterpiece!
Review: I love Julie Garwood, and this is one of my favorites. Lady Sara Winchester is a different kind of heroine - ditzy, naive and thoroughly optomistic. She was forced to marry Nathan St. James by royal decree when she was a very young child, and has fantasized about him as her prince charming ever since. When Nathan claims his bride years later, she is in for a surprise - he is surly and mistrustful, not to mention a semi-reformed pirate and general social outcast. The story of how these two come together and learn to live with one another is hilarious. And plenty sexy! As usual, Garwood delivers!

Summary: the gift
Review: After reading the reviews for this book, I had to go and find it so I could read it for myself. But I have to admit, I was just a little bit disapointed. It was a very light and quick read, even if it was a bit unrealistic. I honestly doubt people spoke like Nathan and Sara did, during that time period. The story could have taken place last week in San Francisco! Although it was a historical, it didn't "transport" me to the time and place of the characters. However, like I said, this was a very entertaining story. Sara's faith in her husband was admirable, though she was a bit weak. Even she noticed that Nathan only had to crook a finger and she'd come running!! Sara was a bit of a ditz, if you ask me but she was a riot! I couldn't stop laughing over her mishaps, and they made me want her to succeed that much more. Nathan was a very good hero, his protectiveness over Sara was what won me over. Don't we all want a man like Nathan who'll try to keep us safe from all the harm in the world. I was a bit disappointed with how it played out in the end though. Nathan was hilarious when he was asking Caine for advice on how to woo his wife back! :) But, like Caine, I was also looking forward to seeing Nathan "getting down on his knees" before Sara would forgive him. She was much too forgiving, but I'm glad to see her gaining some strength at the end. Nathan and Sara together were so cute. I loved their shouting matches! They really were meant to be together...they're probably the only ones who'd be able to stand each other :)

Summary: Full of Laughs
Review: I have read every single Julie Garwood book ever written and this one is probably my favorite. Its definately the funniest that I have read of hers. Between the "head in the clouds" heroine and the "much to masculine" hero the story continues to take turns for the best. Sarah, with her deadly parasols, is one of the most naive, clutzy characters of any book I have read that isn't strictly comedy. If your looking for a book to make you smile and even laugh aloud at times, this is definately one for the job. The other three books in the series are funny to. Its always good to start out with the first book in the series instead of the last (Order: Lyon's Lady, Guardian Angel, The Gift, and Castles) but they are good and make sense in any order. A definate read for Garwood fans.
