Summary: My favorite book from Linda Howard!!!
Review: This book was absolutely outstanding. I know a great deal of her work ends up in the "Romance" section but I can't say that's particularly accurate. Her fiction (this book in particular) is a unique blend of thriller, intense relationships and the supernatural. The sensual content is often stunning with only occasional vulgarity (which I believe is more an aspect of a character, than an expression of the writer.) Son of the Morning kept me enthralled as I wondered how the heroine would cope with the incredible turn her life had taken. I enjoyed her transformation and I appreciate the care Ms. Howard took in letting the story unfold. "Romance" is too sticky sweet a generalization of her writing style and content. They should have a special section for writers like this called, "Passion".

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK!!
Review: I recently became almost obsessed with reading romance novels. Currently, I am reading at least 6 novels per week without fail, with a full time job and child. However, I have to admit without bias that this is not your average romance book! I read Linda Howard's book, "Shades of Twilight", and loved it! At the end of the book there was a glimpse of "Son of the Morning" which, of course, I read. When I finished I immediately ran to the book store to buy it! It was all worth the trouble and then some. I think mystery really adds spice to a romance book because for me, the most important part in a romance book is what each character is willing to "give up" or "put up with" to be with the one that they love. This book is so well plotted, that I'm already hoping for a sequel. The thought of someone leaving everything that is so familiar to them, and to travel back in time to live in a place that is so unfamiliar is EXTREMELY ROMANTIC! It's really disappointing to know that people do not seek love to great lengths in this day and age, and to realize that not many people have the knowledge to be romantic! Thanks Linda for the hope and knowing that might spark in the hearts of each reader.

Summary: Not as Good as I thought it Would Be.
Review: I was really looking forward to reading this book. It sounded very interesting. The two stars is for the beginning. The start of the book was not bad. I felt for Grace and the loss of her husband and brother. Her life on the run was well written and exciting. The book took a nose dive when she decided to time travel. The whole experience was very unbelievable. I would not call Grace and Niall's relationship love, I would call it lust! Most women I know would never choose to go back to the 14th century to have their baby. Very unbelievable!!! If you want time travel, romance, adventure, and hunky Scotsmen read Diana Gabaldon's Oulander series. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: Slow start
Review: This was a good book once you got into it, I'm not sure that I would call it a romance novel more like a mystery with some steamy sex thrown in once and a while. The two characters don't even really get together until the last 5th of the book. <Grump!> The hero was not developed very well and I didn't feel like he was some one that I would want to bed, and that, I think, is crucial (for me) to enjoy the story.

Summary: The best time travel book I have ever read.
Review: I have read several Linda Howard books and have liked some better than others. This book however grabbed me right from the start and I could not put it down. Time travel is not one of my favorite genres but this story was so believable. The time travel was done in such a way that one believes it could happen. The story is so unique and fast paced you can't help but get caught up in it. I'm sad that this story is over!! Sequel please Linda!! If you have not read a Linda Howard pick this one up. You can't go wrong.

Summary: The book was great. It is a must read.
Review: This is the only book by Linda Howard that I have read, and I have been searching libraries for some of her other titles. She makes you wish that there was a man out there named "Black Niall". God, to have that much man is too exciting for real life any way. She makes him so sexy that it is hard to focus on Grace. I just kept thinking about him. Again this is a book worthy of the time I spent reading it. I read it three times.

Summary: Couldn't put this book down?
Review: This was a wonderful tale. Linda did a superb job with the historical references and bringing the present and past together. Wouldn't we all love to find this "love" in our lives.

Summary: THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINING
Review: This is my first Linda Howard book, and I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself captivated by the intricate plots, the detailed characterization, and the non-stop suspense. Will or will not Grace St. John be captured by the evil Parrish? And how will she get out of the dilemma in which she found herself? I especially liked the way Ms Howard brought together the present and the past through the ancient manuscript written by the Black Niall. It is certainly a plot device we don't encounter often in other time-travel romances and kept me practicallly glued to this book for the better part of two days. If there is one thing about this book I don't like, however, that would have to be the ending, which seems to me to be a bit hurried as if Ms Howard is trying to meet a deadline or something. The part in which Black Niall travels to present-day Scotland and killed Parrish Sawyer by electrocuting him was comical as well as anticlimactic and definitely not worthy of the rest of this book.

Summary: Another Linda Howard winner!
Review: This is the 7th Linda Howard novel I've read and I intend to read all she's written. I find the concept of time travel together with romance very intriguing. Grace's ability to take care of herself in such a frightening situation is something I'm sure anyone would hope they could do. I only wish L.H. had not waited until the last quarter of the book to have Grace and Niall meet. I would have liked to see how Grace fared during this time period with Niall. What a guy! Great sizzling love scenes. To those readers who liked the time travel concept shouldn't miss the 4 volumes of Diana Gabaldon's continuing romance saga set in Scotland in the 1740's. That herione accidently goes there, falls in love and comes back to our time thinking her Scotsman is doomed to die. 20 yrs later she discovers he may not have died and decides to go back and find him. What a story filled with Romance & thrills! Don't miss it (start at the beginning). Linda Howards book is making go back to re-read this saga for the 3rd time. I put Linda Howard among the other great romance writers such as N Roberts, Catherine Coulter, Sandra Brown, Iris Johansen and Johanna Lindsey.
