Summary: Extremely Different! Knights of Templar and Romance!
Review: This was definitely a very different romance from Ms. Howard. More of a mystery/thriller with some underlining romance, but definitely a great read.
What impressed me so much about this story was the research that was involved about the Knights of Templar and the Ark. It was fascinating and kept me flipping the pages until the wee hours of the morning. This was a little known area of history for me and I was enthralled. The whole idea that the 'great evils' of the world are connected to a far greater purpose rather than their own greed. Ms. Howard puts religion and history and blends it with an unforgettable romance into clear perspective here and does it well.
The heroine was very strong, as are all of Ms. Howard's heroines and someone you would know next-door. She was average and loved her job of being an archeologist. Kind of nerdy, but it only made her more real and I LOVED it.
The hero is very intriguing and mysterious. His devotion to the 'Order' and why he keeps his promise to be the 'Guardian' is heartfelt. Not to mention sexy as sin, lol. By the way, these two sizzle off the pages when they unite.

Grace the archeologist was stunned to uncover a mysterious set of documents from 1322 and began to decipher them when suddenly someone is after her and her entire world comes crashing down around her through two horrific events that will leave her unraveled and on the run.
Could Black Niall from 1322 be connected to these mysterious documents? Why is she hearing his voice around her and feeling him breathe? Is this more than just paper? Grace goes through unbelievable odds to stay one step ahead of her pursuers and trying to find the key to unlock the papers that will explain why the horrific events happened the way they did.
What she finds will change everything she ever knew about herself and her world.

Summary: Great but takes a long time to get there!!!!
Review: In spite of the three stars I liked this book. The only trouble was that I had to skim three quarters of it to get to the part I liked. The beginning was repetitive, almost boring once you realized the general plot and overly long before the hero and heroine got together. I wish the reason Grace was set on this adventure did not involve such a heartbreaking tragedy. It was difficult for me to get beyond that part of the story and to understand Grace's quick attraction to Niall. While I realized Niall's devotion to his cause, it was also difficult to understand why he left Grace without a backward glance. Despite all these objections, I loved the last part of the book and wish it had been longer and the beginning much shorter.

Summary: Exhausting!!!
Review: I had read some of the reviews before starting this book and based on those, I was ready for a great book. Unfortunatly, I was a little disappointed. Linda Howard is so descriptive and makes you feel like your right there in the midst of the story. However, I felt this book was too long and spent too much time describing and re-describing details that weren't all that important to the storyline. I did enjoy the second part of the book better, the last four chapters made reading this book worth while.

Summary: Too long
Review: This is one of the top 5 books that I've read in the past 10 years - and I read a lot! I started this book at 8:00 in the evening and finished it in time to start getting ready for work the next morning. It takes quite a book to keep me awake all night.

Understand, I read this book about 3 years ago and it is still with me at time even now.
