Summary: "A Keeper"
Review: A tapestry woven with great skill and sensuality. Linda Howard writes like no one else and in Son of the Morning, she weaves her magic one more time. What would you do if you lived in a quiet neighborhood, had a loving husband and brother, worked as a translator of ancient languages at a scholarly think-tank and teased the neighbor's computer nerd son into fixing your lap top when no one else could? Then, in one horrible night, your pedantic, average world is turned upside down. You've seen your husband and brother murdered in cold blood and the killer fully intends that you are the prime suspect. By the next morning, the only reality in your world is a backpack with a manuscript about a mysterious power guarded by the Knights Templar through the ages and a will to survive to bring the real killers to justice. How does a slightly plump, middle-aged, literary researcher deal with life on the run? She uses grit, will power and a determination born of anger. She also uses her fascination with an incredibly real and often erotic Scottish Knight who comes to her in dreams. As she translates the manuscript, she begins to understand the reasons for the murders and why she is being hunted. What follows is an incredible trip through time, a sensual exploration of herself and the dream Knight and the never ending battle of good against evil. I read this book and went out and bought copies for friends. I recommend it for one of those evenings when you can curl up alone with a cup of hot tea and a soft rain. I say an evening because once you begin reading, you won't want to put it down. This is a book for those who like a little mystery, plenty of sensuality and heroines who don't give up. Enjoy.

Summary: Wow! Blockbuster Keeper. What a wonderful Read.
Review: Linda Howard's SON OF THE MORNING captivated me from beginning to end. What a great idea and what creative genius she reveals in building this complex and entertaining story of true love. One of the very best romance time-travel novels I've read. Way above the norm

Summary: Another Linda Howard great!
Review: I could not put this book down! I read it in 2 nights, staying up way past midnight the 2nd night. Linda Howard did a great job of mixing romance with intrigue and suspense. The suprise twists kept you wondering what would happen next. The only disappointment was that it took so long (nearly 3/4 of the way through) for the heroine Grace and hero Niall to finally meet in the flesh. Once they did though, the pages nearly sizzled. Linda Howard has been one of my favorite authors, and I can't wait to see how she tops this one. I would highly recommend this as well as her others

Summary: Not a good ROMANCE
Review: Linda Howard is usually one of the best romance writers out there; I must say that I was rather disappointed with her latest book. While it does portray a woman of extraordinary strength with courage etc., it also fails to make convincing the emotions between hero and heroine. They don't meet(in the flesh, so to speak) for way too long. Ms Howard's focus was definitely on Grace, not the relationship between the lovers, and I personally found that when they did meet, their love tended to be purely sexual. While I enjoy hot love scenes, it's certainly not to the exclusion of any of the finer feelings...I found this to be more a book about a woman discovering herself anew rather than a couple building towards a life together. I hope Ms Howard returns to her usual highly emotionally charged love scenes and close intimate relationship focus for her forthcoming work

Summary: Linda Howard's best work
Review: This is Linda Howards' best-written novel. No trite overstating of the characters' emotions, a solid plot, and well-developed characters. It left me wanting to read more of the characters' story, just as a good novel is supposed to. It sparked my interest in the Knights Templar and provided some very interesting theories on the Knights' role with the Catholic Church, Hitler, and time travel. Linda Howards' best work, but also the best time-travel novel I've read

Summary: Riveting!!! Grace's strength astounds me.
Review: I coudn't put it down! Grace's strength of mind and her survival intincts brought her through danger and grief to find magic and love in the arms of the guardian and a great man. It's a wonderful story of survival and love that even time and great evil couldn't stop

Summary: Linda Howard's first time travel is positively brilliant
Review: Early in the fourteenth century, the Knights of Temple are denounced by the Pope as heretics and excommunicated and are quickly routed by the French King. To protect the treasures of the Lord from falling into the wro ng hands, Niall of Scotland is selected as its guardian. He quickly brings the treasures home to Scotland where he constructs an impregnable fortress. Grace St. John enjoys her life. She loves her job, translating ancient languages, and deeply loves her spouse, who reciprocates her feelings. Her idyll world crumbles when her boss Parrish Sawyer kills her husband b ecause he wants the documents that she is currently working on. These documents reveal the hidden location of the treasures of the Lord, whose possession will make the individual the mots powerful person on the face of t he earth. For several months, Grace manages to evade Parrish and his henchmen as she translates the document. While on the lam, she falls in love with Niall, who somehow feels her presence and returns her love. However, once she completes the translation, Grace will still need a leap of faith because her love may not be enough to provide her with the strength to stop Parrish from his fiendish plot. Linda Howard has a reputation for writing some of the best romance novels today. Her latest story, SON OF THE MORNING, is her best work to date. The great writer has cleverly mixed several romance sub-genres (Mediev al, time travel, supernatural, and romantic suspense) into an action packed thriller that fans of all four sub-genres will devour from first page to the last sentence. Ms. Howard should gain much recognition for this cl assic tale. Harriet Klausner

Summary: Too long
Review: I liked this book because it had both romance, adventure, suspense... a kind of female Indiana Jones. The problem, in my humble opinion, resides in the fact the LH spent too long on the introduction and Graces' escape. Only about 1/4 of the book is dedicated to romance with Niall.

Summary: Loved It! Loved It! Loved It!
Review: When I first read this book - I thought it a bit long-winded! Imagine that! I've since re-read it many times and each time find something more interesting and captivating. I love the heroine - and I must say she brought me to tears in one scene (I won't say which and spoil it). The male leads - and I think there were actually three - are full of life and fabulous. The history was completely believable and I wish that LH would write some more in this era - did I mention that I loved it! Well written LH.
