Summary: a letdown....
Review: After reading "The Wind Dancer"..I cant understand how it has received such rave reviews..this book held little appeal for me..I struggled to finish this story..However, I will admit that I really enjoyed Lorenzo... but I hated the way things turned out with Caterina!!! Anyways, not terrible, but not great either..I dont think Id buy another book by Iris Johansen.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great tale
Review: After reading some of Iris Johansen's other books I decided to read some of her older work and the Wind Dancer was great. I'm not too much on romance but she not only talked about love in a passionate way but wrote a thrilling tale. I recommend this book to others along with her more recent books.

Summary: One of my all time favorites
Review: Although this book is not my favorite from the "Wind Dancer" series, I really enjoyed it. This book is the first of the series, then comes STORM WINDS and then REAP THE WIND and eventually FINAL TARGET is loosely related. I was a little shocked at the way that Johansen wound everything up so that Lion and Sanchia end up together, but it was well worth it in the long run.
If you are looking to start the series, this is the book to start with, but the second book: "Storm Winds" is by far my favorite of them all!!!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: I am an avid reader of many different types of books and this is without a doubt the best seires I hav ever read. Iris Johansen is one of the most talented writers I have had the pleasure of reading. She keeps you so enthralled in the story that you feel like your living it rather then just reading it. I'm not sure which was my favorite, they were all first rate. If I had to choose then it would be this one. If you have the opportuinity to read this book.....DO IT! You will never forget it!

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: I haven't read the Wind Dance series in order, but you don't have to, each book has its own characters and plot!
The books in this series I have read are Final Target, Storm Winds and now The Wind Dancer and they were all excellent! I haven't read Reap the Winds as of yet but is on my must do list.
Lionelle (also known as Lion or Lord Andreas) seeks to have the Wind Dancer safely returned to his family and is willing to accomplish this task at any cost.
Lorenzo- a family friend of Lionelle is a man of whim, an ex-assassin. Many fear him because he has the look of a man without soul, although his friends know better.
Sanchia, prisoner of life, has subdued her life to slavery and theft, for that's all she knows until Lion comes barging into her life and buys her from her master. Now a new world opens up for them all.

Great read, it's one I will read again!

Summary: IRIS - I WANT MORE OF SAME!!!!
Review: Really thought I'd like this since it's by IJ & the plot sounded like a good one - However, it just didn't do it for me. I just never was able to get involved with the characters - or even like them really. The hero (Lionelle) could have been an ok guy - but there was never any connection with him emotionally for me. The heroine was just a little too naive for the period & situation the IJ had placed her in. The romance nor the plot ever really did anything for me either. I don't know.... it has a real good rating & I know IJ is an excellent writer - so maybe it was just me.

Summary: It's amazing that no one else reviewed this book
Review: The first and best of the Wind Dancer trilogy, this book contains all the Iris Johansen ingredients for a good read - a tough hero, a resourceful heroine, betrayal and suffering - with a happy ending. Plus steamy scenes. Iris Johansen does tend to manipulate history (see Storm Winds for a good example) but always in a believable manner and always leaving the reader with a feeling that it could have happened that way.

I like Johansen because her characters are not static - they evolve throughout the story - becoming stronger all the time. She's not too squemish about revenge either.

What I regretted was the manner in which nearly all the supporting characters were killed off, especially little Paolo - It seemed so cruel but it was actually crucial for the plot and for demonstrating the ruthlessness of the Borgias
