Rating: Summary: Amazing!! Judith, your my new fav author! Review: This was the first Judith McNaught book I read and WOW is all I have to say. I love it! This book moved me to tears... seriously I was sobbing at parts and then Judith would spin her magic and I'd be laughing hysterically at the pure comical genus she has woven into this book! Royce truely made me swoon, still does, as I can't stop thinking about him yet. He's such a softie with an extremely tough exterior. Jennifer is strong and courageous and watching these two fall deeply in love was breathtaking! The last battle scene took my breath away. What AMAZING writing. And the love scenes were lusty, yet oh so so tender. I can't wait to read another of Judith's books... and another and another (you get the idea) Don't MISS this book. You'll still be thinking about it long after you've finished it.
Rating: Summary: The medieval romance novel of you dreams! Review: I got this book b/c all the reviews said it was "the best book ever." I had to see for myself, and OMG this has to be THE best love story I have ever read! All of you were right. I am obsessed w/medieval times, so of course I loved this book. However, even if you don't like that time period, I think you will still love this book! It is the most realistic romance novel I have ever read. I felt every emotion possible reading this book. It is hilarious, yet heartwrenching. It will make you furious, and disappointed. It brought out so many emotions that I felt like I was in the book. I laughed so hard, and cried so hard. The funny parts are hysterically funny, and the sad parts are painfully touching. I cannot express enough what a fabulous book this is. The one scene in this book that is so sad is the best scene I have EVER read, and it will stand out forever! You HAVE to read this book! Am I obsessed.....yeah, but romance novels are for escape, and I fully take advantage of the few escapes I get when reading a romance novel.
Rating: Summary: Nice love story Review: This is a nice super heroes story that at the beginning of the book you will not leave it, but in the middle is a little bit boring and it has a nice end. I really recommend this book for relax and have a good time, the story of Jennifer is amazing and it can be true, whether your parents loves you or don't it is really very difficult to leave them for ever, on the other hand, the way that Royce fought his last battle is really more than a love story, and Jennifer's aunt, well every family has one.
Rating: Summary: Heavenly Review: I loved this book. After just finishing several Diana Gabaldon books I was in dire need of a Scottish-Highlander-Fix, so I ordered this book. At first I didn't think I was going to like it, as the writing is not as good as Gabaldon's, but in the end it was more than satisfying. I loved the strength of Jennifer's character, although she did frustrate me more than once for her unfailing loyalty to her horrible family. I mean, could she really be that blind to their cruelty? When she went with her Aunt to sit with her family during the games, my heart was breaking for The Duke. But in the end when she knealed before him, I thought it would burst. If you liked "Whitney, my love" you must read this. You'll love how she ties the stories together. This was my first Judith McNaught, but will not be my last. I have now read all of the Westmoreland stories, and look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Rating: Summary: Too Stubborn to please Review: I first heard about AKOD in romantic times online where it receieved a rating of five stars (the highest). I became curious and checked on amazon.com where I read the high reviews it recieved from other customers. I deceided that I needed to read it (along with Whitney, My Love). I rushed to the library because I couldn't wait to buy the two books(since the shipping would take some time). Since AKOD recieved much higher reviews, I read that first. It was my first "Judith" book and to my utter disappointment, it did not hold up to its great reviews. I don't know if my reading style is different from others here, but I found Jennifer too ambilvalent, one second liking Royce while the next hating him. She was too fiesty and too stubborn. I felt that she did not deserve Royce and it angered me when she was stupid enough to sit on her family's side at the touranment. Although she was clever and smart to think of ways to escape the Wolf, she was never smart enough to see the truth about her family or about her feelings for Royce. Royce was a harsh man, a romantic at heart but sometimes too caveman like for me (the scene where he teaches her a "lesson"). I do admit though, some scenes were very very heart warming and made me cry for the couple. Some were also very hilarious (like the mentioned "forty" scene). But both of these types of scenes were too few and far from each other. Most of the time, the couple were fighting or were at odds and ends with each other. After reading this, I was very wary to go on to Whitney, My Love. I started with caution but my caution soon disappeared after the first chapter. I fell in love the Whitney, My Love and found it to be much better than AKOD. Since Mrs. McNaught's second book was a lot better, I am very much a hooked fan of hers and am even considering to read AKOD again just because I loved Whitney, My Love so much.
Rating: Summary: Will Cherish This Book Forever Review: This is by far the best book I have ever read in my life. Judith McNaught is such an amazing Historical Romance writer. I've read many of McNaught's books but this is #1! I simply did not want this book to end. Jennifer was such a headstrong character who was devoted to her family, but as soon as she got into Royce's grasp everything changed. You will not be disappointed with this book. It is just a wonderful romance!
Rating: Summary: a keeper Review: This is one of my top five all time favortie book. The story was great and i love the fact that its about the westmoreland family.about clayton's grandfather to be exact.clayton is the duke in "whitney my love".i advise you not to hesitate and buy this book now.i promise you will not be dissapointed and if you are, well, u have bad taste.
Rating: Summary: Better have your chores done! Review: You'd better have all your chores done before you start this book, because you truly will not be able to put it down! I completely enjoyed the story, and oh the romance! Wonderful historical romance.
Rating: Summary: 5 stars is simply not enough for this book!!! Review: Royce Westmoreland is my favorite of the Westmorelands. He is such a doll, and at times, there is the feeling that Jenny doesn't deserve him. What she does to him at the tournament was very upsetting, but it was so sweet how Royce reacted to her betrayal. For a man whose nickname is "The Wolf," it would never be expected that he could be so sweet, but he is. After I had reread this book, I realized that Royce was quite possibly my favorite hero from JM's books. He is nothing like Clayton and Stephen, and in Clayton's case, that is very much a good thing. If you buy this book, you will never be sorry. It is that good!!!
