Rating: Summary: A Romance to melt your soul! Review: Judith McNaught is one of those romance writers whose books touch you very deeply; her stories are the very heart of what romance is supposed to be. This story is McNaught at her very best! The characters reach out to you, and you'll never forget them. Have fun
Rating: Summary: A Kingdom of Dreams Gets two thumbs up from me! Review: "A Kingdom of Dreams" by Judith McNaught is a heart winning story. the personalities of the characters make them jump out at you from the pages. Set in the late 1400's this book has a reality all of its own. The character of Royce Westmoreland is cleverly created and skillfully portrayed. Jennifer Merrick has a vivaciousness that brings her to life. I highly recommend this book for all of you romance readers out there
Rating: Summary: More Then Words Can Say Review: I LOVE this book beyond mere words. It was the first romance I ever read. My mother brought it home and I thought "Romance? Is anything worse?" I was home sick one day and had nothing better to do, so I read it. It was amazing. I started the book thinking I would hate it and I finished it in one day, loving every minute of it. I have read many books, and this is my all-time favourite. It depicts love at it's best. Jennifer Merrick, and her sister Brenna, are captured by The Black Wolf, the Scourge of Scotland, the Spawn of Satan; Royce Westmoreland. Royce is her family, and her country's worst enemy. She stands up to him as no one ever has before, and she begins to intrigue him. Then she, a weak, powerless female in the 15th century, does the unthinkable. She escapes. A Kingdom of Dreams is full of comedy, tragedy, history, everything every book should have.
As I read A Kingdom of Dreams, I felt transported to the camp, the castles, the jousts. I felt as if I actually was in the book, was one of the characters. I have never felt so in-touch with a book, it's characters, or it's scenery as I have with A Kingdom of Dreams.
I have read the book so many times it has no cover, is falling apart in more places then I can count and has even been burnt, but nothing will stop me from reading it. Anyone who loves mediaeval times, romance and comedy should read this book, along with Mrs. McNaughts other fantastic novels. There are even two that are the stories of the Westmoreland's decendents: Until You, and Whitney, My Love
Rating: Summary: History and Romance: Does it Get Any Better? Review: Believe it or not, I was handed this book by my high school history teacher, who recommended it for the rich depiction of life in late 12th century England and Scotland.
Of course, the love story of Jennifer and Royce may not have taken place, but by the end of the novel, you can almost believe it was actual history.
Kidnapped from the Scottish abbey to be used as a weapon against her own father, Jennifer uses her quick wit to wound and fight against Royce, her captor. Though her passion brings the two of them together, their relationship is brought to an abrupt end when Jenny is rescued.
Humiliated and angry, the two are ironically brought back together by their kings, as a part of a peace agreement. But peace between the two countries does not extend to their new castle. Royce and Jenny must find each other all over again, before it becomes too late.
Rating: Summary: eew. Review: I know people swear by this book but I just can't do it. I was recommended this by a friend of mine who's suggestions usually prove reliable but nobody's perfect. I just find the story extremely forgetable, predictable and trite. The heroine is unlikeable. Not to mention The Wolf who's "sick of the expectations the name entails." Whatever, I just didn't like it.

Rating: Summary: TRUST is the key word Review: Well, good overall flow of the story. The middle part's a bit slow though. But loved the ending, its like you are in that era witnessing the tournament, u will witness the lack of trust of the girl towards her husband but slowly where it finally counts...she stood by his side. Never looking back at her family ...now that's love
Rating: Summary: Another Winner! Review: I have always loved Judith McNaught's books and I can honestly say she is the one author whose books I can read and re-read and read again because she is just excellent! In "A Kingdom of Dreams", we meet the headstrong and courageous Lady Jennifer Merrick and the strong, possessive alpha male, "The Wolf" aka duke of Claymore or otherwise known as Royce Westmoreland. Jenny is not your typical weepy, faint-hearted heroine. Instead, she is loyal to her country Scotland and resists all the commands issued by her captor-later-turned-lover-then-husband. She is strong-willed and is also one of my favourite heroines of all time. Royce is again, the predictable big, brawny, dominant hero who expects everyone to cower at the sight of him...everyone but Jenny. Nonetheless, he is taken by her wit, charm and courageous personality. Royce seems invincible until the near-end of the book when he eventually got injured in order to keep his word to Jenny. That scene made me cry. To conclude, this is another winner from Judith McNaught in addition to others like "Whitney, My Love" and "Until You". Keep on writing, Judith!
