Summary: Awful!
Review: I too didn't bother to finish it - It was just plain bad. Try a Jennifer Cruise instead - lot's of laughs and very sexy.

Summary: Couldn't even finish it
Review: I have always forced myself to finish even the worst of books, but this one I just couldn't do it. This book is more of an outline of a story rather than an actual fully developed story. I don't think I will ever read a Carly Phillips book again.

Summary: One of the best books I've read!
Review: I cannot believe the reviews this book is getting! I am shocked! I absolutely loved it! The Chandler brothers are adorable! I actually read the second book in the series first, but as soon as I was done with that one I couldn't wait to read this book. The story is clever and fun. The characters are refreshing and I can't wait for the next installment. I found myself hiding this book under my desk at work so that I could read it throughout the day. I very much recommend that you give this book a chance. It is wonderful!

Summary: Abysmal
Review: The cover makes you think you're buying a romantic comedy, but nothing could be further from the truth. It couldn't even make a hyena laugh. This book was boring and stupid. It was so bad I couldn't finish it. I can't understand how rubbish like this gets published. Don't waste your money.

Summary: So Unrealistic
Review: This book was so boring I could not get past the second chapter. It is so unrealistic to believe that a mother would trick her son's into thinking that she is dying. On top of that who really believes that 3 single brothers would do a coin toss to see which on has to get married. Save you time and money. Don't bother with this book.

Summary: Can anyone get published?
Review: First off, 1 star is far more than this piece of mindless drivel deserves. I expected a fluff novel, in fact I wanted a fluff novel. I didn't expect to read the equivalent of a high school creative writing assignment. This book was boring and pathetic. There is only so much I can suspend belief about. These people all need to move as far away from one another as possible.

I can say without a doubt that Carly Phillips should find another occupation. Maybe the GAP or something. Or maybe I should become a writer because apparently they're just handing out publishing contracts to anyone.

Summary: Middling
Review: As romatic comedies go, this one was OK--not too terrible, but nothing at all that distinguishes it from the pack. The plot was a bit contrived (which is OK in these types of novels, you expect it), but coupled with unimaginative characters behaving in unrealistic ways--it's just an OK read. I was surprised because I have read a few of Kelly Ripa's other picks and while none of them are War and Peace, there is usually something about them that distinguishes them from the pack. I would say, don't go out of your way to find this book, but if it finds its way to you (like when you are stuck on a long plane ride) it won't do you any harm.

Summary: Book finished in 2 days!!
Review: This book was so intriguing and exciting I could not put it down. The writer has a very smooth writing style which kept my eyes glued to every page. I read an excerpt from this book online at Kelly Ripa's site which sparked my immediate order from amazon.com. The town in which this story takes place is painted by the author as such a quaint and homey town. It's so easy to imagine yourself in this lovely town surrounded by very interesting people. The story of Roman and Charlotte is a truly admirable one which ends delighfully. I recommend this book as a must read with all of my heart. Once I finished reading the book, I immediately jumped online to see the other books written by this author. The book Playboy is on it's way to my house as we speek and I believe the next installment into the Chandler men's life is due out in September 2003.

Summary: Not worth the hype
Review: I had heard a lot of good things about this book, so I broke down and bought it, hoping for a sexy, saucy read. Instead it was...boring. It was really boring! First, the plot was unbelievable. Some old transient goes around stealing knitted panties (knitted panties?!) hoping to raise sales at Charlotte's Attic. Charlotte is the heroine of the novel and the panty knitter. Charlotte is a big yawn. Her "hero," Roman, is flat, boring (there's that word again!) and totally undeveloped. If this is the best Kelly Ripa can choose for her book club, you can bet I will not be reading another of her picks.

Summary: There's much better stuff out there than this
Review: I have to agree with most of the other reviewers, this book is just not that good. Yes, the love scenes are hot, but they come with a price - 319 pages of flat characters, hokey dialogue, and a cheesy plot. I am a huge fan of contemporary romance and am very forgiving of the genre, but I am pretty embarrassed that I read this whole book.
