Summary: Not worth your money
Review: This book is full of repetition, repetition, repetition! OK we get it ........one twin is bad one is good..... The book lacked Lindsey's witty dialogue and strong characters... Not up to par with the Mallory series at all.......I wish the real Johanna would come back to writing because the last few books have really been awful and I am a big fan of hers.

Summary: This was a good book!!
Review: This book was definitley a good read. Not my favorite and not typical Johanna Lindsey, but good. Chad was incredible!!!! What a man!!!! And I really liked Marian's character, although I wish that she had had more guts where Amanda was concerned. I would have given her a run for her money!!!!! All in all, a really good book, that is worth the read!!! I would say to anyone who is interested to give it a try!!!

Summary: It's "I couldn't care less!"
Review: This book was dissapointing on so many levels. First of all, the editing. JL used the phrase "I could care less" at least 15 times. The correct phrase is "I couldn't care less"

It drove me nuts. That along with the slowest moving story. There was no real conflict. I agree with the other reviewers, how did the barn scene happen? Where was the tension, the emotion? Why not show Amanda's pain? Obviously she had some, she mentioned it twice to Chad.

I thought the end was awful too. Where did that come from? Everyone just took the information and moved on.

I loved JL, she wrote with feeling. I am not sure who wrote this book.

Summary: A Man to Call My Own
Review: This book was so boring. I was very disappointed in the whole layout. In JL's other books you have the whole mystery and romantic anticipation. (I am a Malory series fan). Chad didn't have a clue who he was making love to. There wasn't any referecne to Amanda and her man as far as their relationship behind closed doors. I actually couldn't wait until I was finished, just so I could move on to another book. I think I will wait to buy the next book in soft back.

Summary: Wasted money!!
Review: This book was terrible! I bought the book based on Ms. Lindsey's name-- I have sooooo many of her other books so I was excited to see this one on the bookshelf at the bookstore. By the end of the first chapter, I was bored. The characters have no redeeming qualities except for Chad and I think he's an idiot for hanging in there for two women who are petty, stupid, short sighted and FLAT! I will definitely be selling this book at my next garage sale!! and 25 cents will be asking too much for it!

Summary: Not worth it!
Review: This book was very disappointing. It appeared to be written in a hurry, with little thought to setting and character development. It was very hard to feel sympathetic for either the hero or heroine. It was also poorly edited; surely a good writer and editor should notice the inappropriate slang for the time period. Luckily I didn't spend money on this book (it was from the library)!

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: This book wasn't the usual Lindsey - it didn't have the same intelligent conversation and witty dialogue. It was, however, a fun book to read. Twin girls, both beautiful, hate each other since they were young because one is selfish and cruel but the other is kind and sensitive. So the kind one dressed like a dowd to avoid notice and her sister's cruel attention.

When Amanda, our nice sister, meets Chad who has come to escort them to her aunt's ranch, she falls for him. But she is so busy plotting to make sure her sister doesn't know her feelings that all sorts of misunderstandings occur. This adds to the book's light charm. There is also enough action (train robberies, kidnapping...) to keep the fan of the western genre interested as the girls struggle to fit into their new ranching life.

Of course, we have our happy ending but there are also a few twists and turns you wouldn't expect to find in a typical romance - they keep you turning the pages, though.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and finished it quickly. I look forward to the next Lindsey novel!

Summary: What happened?
Review: This is the first Johanna Lindsay book I've bought in at least five years. Not that I didn't like her earlier works, I just grew away from them. A friend of mine is a devoted fan and I thought "OK I'll give her try again". The cover is gorgeous, the story sounded good but was a HUGE letdown. The sex scene in the barn was great ;-) but Marion just came off as silly and a little childish and her sister as a witch....Neither were really redeaming--the best part was Chad (and his dad!) I never finished it and told my friend to save her money for the paperback :-(

Summary: I wish I could give this 0 stars
Review: This was the worst Johanna Lindsay book I have ever read. Both the "evil" twin and the "good" twin were annoying. The evil twin because Lindsay spent the first few chapters telling us all the reasons we should hate her, the good twin because she was unnecessarily mean to the hero for no good reason. The hero was easily manipulated and not too smart.
The worst part of this book was the fact that after spending so much time convincing the reader to hate the evil twin, by the middle of the book Lindsay has this character do a complete turnaround. POOF!!! She's married and slowly but surely she's turning into a nice girl while the good twin is getting meaner and nastier. At this point I disliked most characters in the book and I couldn't give a hoot what happened next.
The humor and emotion that are usually the main ingredients in Lindsay's books are woefully absent in this horrid story. Don't waste your time or money on this pathetic tale.

Summary: A Little Better than her last book...but still not up to par
Review: Those of you who truly love her books will probably be disappointed, as I was. This book is better than The Pursuit (her worst book ever in my opinion, not worth the paper it was printed on) but it's still not as good as most of her other books. The plot was good. Twin sisters, both beautiful but one hides behind ugly glasses, the other is petty and jealous. The man of course sees the beauty on the outside first, but does finally get it right in the end and sees the beauty from within also. The book does not have good dialogue though...it was like poof...they are in love and pretty much skipped any real dialogue between them as to how and why they fell in love. Definitely not worth the hardcover $$$.

Lindsay used to be an automatic buy for me as soon as the book came out. After her last 2 books, I am not so sure now.
