Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Horrible Review: Despite what it says on the back cover of this book, this is not a romance. I don't care what other people think, but this is what I call a lust-book. None of the feelings are really based upon love. It has several graphic sex scenes that inappropriate for a reading audience of any age, innocent or no. On top of that, it really has quite a weak plot. Nora is trying to get to England to escape her unwanted fiance and runs to Ewan MacAllister for help, a man who she has never even met before. He eventually decides to take Nora to his brother so she can be sent back to her father. She willingly goes along with him despite her desire to get to her aunt in England. Along the way they are attacked by a band of gypsies, who they then join and become good friends with. Ewan then decides to keep traveling with them to find out who paid the gypsies to abduct him before he and Nora go to his brother's castle. All in all, it has very little drive besides the lust, and unless you are in the mood for some sex, don't read this book.

Review: Enter Ewan McCallister a doomed young man who thought that he killed his brother Kiernan over a young women ,who used both of them to her own means. And now meet Eleanor known as Nora who is unknownly the niece of two kings, running away from home to get out of a marriage and you have perfect combination, and start of an adventure of a lifetime for these two. I will not go into every detail, but there was humor and some sadness and whole lot of action to round it out. I highly recommend this book, and you can bet your sweet booty that I will be reading the sequel.Keep on writing Kinley. I will be reading them.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: delightful Scottish historical romance Review: Ewan MacAllister lives in a cave by himself because he feels guilty in connection with the suicide of his brother Kieran. Ewan stole Kieran's woman Isobail taking her as his lover to England. Not only did she betray him for her English lover, but also when he returned home he learned that Kieran had killed himself. Eleanor" Nora" Alexander comes to Ewan's cave because she wants him to escort her to her aunt in England. Besides wanting to remain a hermit, Ewan mumbles that it is always an aunt. Still she knows her father and his hand picked lackey would not mess with a berserker like Ewan. So she left behind a note claiming to have eloped with him. She pushes him to take her to her Aunt Eleanor, Queen of England, finally forcing him to at least leave his home and escort her to another of his brothers. They fall in love as she learns he is a caring soul hurting from guilt. Though the hero's abode is somewhat unique, TAMING THE SCOTSMAN is a typical Scottish historical romance (duh - it is the third MacAllister tale), but feels more a medieval Romancing the Stone. The tale contains a fresh brisk story line due to the antics of the courageous heroine and guilt numbing the hero. The return of the siblings from the first two books adds to the déjà vu feel, yet Kinley MacGregor continues to provide delightful tales of yore that entertain the sub-genre clan. Harriet Klausner

Review: Fellow readers, I am extremely happy to tell you that after FINALLY reading 'taming the scotsman' I can confirm that this is certainly Kinley at her best! ...... a few months ago I blindly 'stood' up for this novel (having not read it at that stage) and said that Kinley was a great writer and that I thought this novel had to be a winner ...... and I am glad I did so! I have now read all of the books in the MacAllister series and 'Taming the Scotsman' is an exceptionally wonderful story for Ewan ......... I could not have hoped for a more sweet story!!!!!!!! It is great that Kinley didn't make this one morose (as Ewan sometimes seemed in other related novels), she let Ewan tell his story his own way and his personality shone through .... he is sweet, gentle, and adorable! Ewan is extremely loveable and Nora is an absolute delight! This story fits right in with Kinley's tone for the series and oozes emotional depth and an adventuresome, amusing story that I found simply wonderful .... I will read this novel again and again, and I believe this novel is as good as "born in sin", for those of you who have already read that gorgeous novel! Buy it, rent it, borrow it ..... you need to read this one! It is a grade A+ read!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A reader from Bedford, IN USA - Get Over It!! Review: Give me a break "A reader from Bedford, IN USA." Did you want some cheese with that whine? Do you really read historical romance books to learn about history? Perhaps you should read history books? Just a thought. Your review reads as though you have a chip on your shoulder, but I just can't imagine what would upset you so much about this book. You seem to be looking for things to gripe about instead of flowing with the story of the book. I hope you don't live your life the same way - you'll miss the best parts. I enjoyed this book. Was it the best book I ever read? No, because it didn't bring tears to my eyes. But it was hardly the horrid book that you attempt to portray. It made me laugh - many times - and that is one of the things that makes a book worth reading. And trust me sweetie, your intellect is no more evolved than mine or anyone else that disagrees with you on this issue. We just read these books for reasons that are different than yours. We read for enjoyment - you read to nit pick. I would suggest that you chose another type of book to read and, should you continue (for reasons unknown) to read historical romance, perhaps you should keep your opinions to yourself because they are irrelevant since you really don't like the genre, so your opinions are worthless to those of us who do.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Loved it!!! Review: I cannot say how much I loved this book. I have read it three times. After reading Born in Sin (my favorite so far) I really wanted Ewan to find someone to bring him out of that great depression he was in. The only problem I had with this book was that I could not pick up the next book in the series right away. Can't wait to read the next one.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good reading Review: I don't usually read any Historicals but this one was great. She didn't really give away any of the previous storys which means I will have to buy those and find out what happened with the brothers. Nora is not the typical heroine. She has something to say about everything and she says it with sass... Ewan is a great show of man wounded by his own mistakes but wasn't so full of self-pity that he couldn't appreciate Nora and defend her against others. This book is an outstanding book and I recommend it to others.
