Summary: Fab!
Review: Before anything else, I must tell you that I am not a big fan of romance novels, let alone historical ones! However, fascinated by the fact that nearly all my friends are big fans of Ms Mcnaught, I decided to read one of her books and chose Something Wonderful. And surprisingly, I enjoyed it very, very much!!I couldn't put the book down and the very next day, rushed out to buy another novel of hers, Once and Always. Alex possessed the qualities that a woman of her time didn't have. She read a lot and knew how to ride, shoot and also fence. She's also smart in her own charming way and if she was real and lived in our time, she'd be a well-known feminist! And as for Jordan Townsende, let's just say that I'm absolutely in love with him!Undoubtedly, he is not the best of men, but as the hero of this book, he's brilliant! To put it in a few words, this book is an absolute must-read!!

Summary: This book is really great!!
Review: Judith McNaught is just the best romance author i have read yet! I can't seem to put it in the right words but i think she is a great writer. This book was my first book i read of hers, and I read this book till dawn! Do you belive it, It got soooo good i never wanted to end, but it did till the end, and it was so sad I actually cried! I never cried before reading books! I recommand this book to everyone. I love the deft butler, and the almost blind footman! Well, after i read this book, I read Almost Heaven and Perfect, and LOVE those books. And now i am collecting all her books. Judith, i still haven't read about the so good to be true Nicholas DuVille but heard so much about him. Keep up the Great work Judith, i can't seem to stop laughing and crying and crying again every book i read of yours!

Summary: This book REALLY is Something Wonderful
Review: Needless to say, I loved it. Maybe Jordon was a sociopath, but I loved him anyways. He had problems like most everybody else does. I loved Alex more than almost any character in any of Judith McNaught's books. She was shy, she was very, very young, but by the end of the book she did know her own self. I absolutly loved it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I did enjoy this book hugely; nevertheless. . . .
Review: HA! I just read one of the other reviews and can't help but agree that, as the other reviewer has said, "Jordan has all the earmarks of a sociopath." If we knew a guy like this in real life, how sure are we that we would be able to look over the depth of his anger and the possibility of his cruelty resurfacing?

Yet, I loved this book. Alex is adorable, although no girl of that time would have read Machiavelli. In fact, I don't think most people of that time read Machiavelli, period. Jordan is really the man-of-your-dreams, if only he would deal better with the emotions of his lady. The grandmother is, I think, the best secondary character JM has ever made, if you exclude Nicki DuVille. Tony could have had his own novel, too. One problem: how could Jordan have made love to someone he looked upon as still a child? It doesn't matter how old she was, she still was much too young. Even when he returns, she is barely an adult, though mature in intelligence.

I do love the idea of a half-blind footman and a deaf butler.

Summary: My Favorite!
Review: Something Wonderful was my first thick romance novel I've read and after 7 years it's still my favorite. So far I've never read any book that has made me laugh out loud and made me cry like "Something Wonderful" did to me. It made such an effect that I still read it (probably more that 10 times).

Summary: This book should have been titled, Something Horrible
Review: Why is it that every time I read a book involving a shy, innocent heroine she always seems subject to the most horrific abuse? I have some news for people out there who aren't aware...Shy women *are* intellegent and they *do* have pride.

Even if I do suspend my disbelief or try to think that this book was merely a flight of fancy, it doesn't change the facts. Alexandra is belittled, smothered, and controlled by a husband who seems to have all the earmarks of a sociopath.

I realize that most books of this time period are hardly going to be feminist statements. Nor, for the sake of at least *some* realism would I want them to be. Unfortunately, the cruelty seems to be a bit on the extreme side here. The book would have been far more interesting to me if Alexandra had left Jordan, and taken some self-esteem with her. Sometimes love just isn't enough.

Summary: ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS BY MCNAUGHT
Review: Something Wonderful has one of the most incrediable endings I have ever read. I love all of McNaughts historical romance novels. Jordan & Alex are characters you can't help but love and a book you can't put down. Whitney My Love was my first historical romance I've read. I've been hooked ever since. Waiting on sequel to Once and Always. Judith please keep writting historicals.

Summary: I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN!!
Review: I was so caught up in this story, I read this book in one day! I read "Almost Heaven" last week and loved that as well. When I noticed the note at the back of that book about "Something Wonderful", I just had to read that too. The characters are just so "real" you feel their pain and joys. What a "Wonderful" book!!
