Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: This is the very first romance novel I read and it remains one of my favorites. The best part of the story is Alex - she is a heroine that is extremely easy to like. Alex is an intelligent character who has a lot of spirit. It does not take long for the reader to care about her. Judith McNaught is one of the best romance writers out there. Some of her other books I wholly recommend are Almost Heaven, Whitney My Love, Once and Only, and Paradise.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Wonderful Review: This has to be one of the best books I have ever read. When a story can make me laugh out loud, cry big tears, and want to smack the hero for being an idiot about the heroine's feelings, I know it's a keeper! Alexandra is the essence of innocence and very trusting. Jordan is stubborn and closed minded until he learns that not everything can go his way and that he had better change his attitude and learn to trust, or he will lose everything that matters to him. I would recommend this book to anyone!
Rating: Summary: Easily the best romance novel that I have ever read! Review: I have read quite a few romance novels over the years and this one is easily one of the best if not the best. The heroine is intelligent, spunky, innocent but real. She is not annoying or rediculous as some tend to be. The hero is attractive and male. Great book!
Rating: Summary: Cautious recommendation Review: Liked the book - even though it took me a long time to see what Alex saw in Jordan. The end was a bit abrupt, and I still think that Alex shouldn't have been oh so sweetly forgiving - Jesus, the guy really needs to work on the trust angle in a relationship. Actually, suspecting your partner of attempted murder on such flimsy evidence seems more to do with a lack of intelligence rather than trust. Also, another little niggle, am I the only person who was bugged by the fact that very little attention was played to Jordan's (presumably) harrowing imprisonment? I realise that its a necessary plot contrivance but the prevailing attitude of most of the characters, including Jordan himself, was along the lines of "Oh, you've been imprisoned for a year? Another cup of tea, dearie?" None the less, this only occurred to me after I'd read the book which tells you something about McNaught's ability to make you suspend your disbelief. And despite my resevations about Jordan as a hero, it is difficult not to be seduced by the sweeping love story. A cautious recommendation. More wholehearted recommendations by this author would be "Amost Heaven", "Kingdom of Dreams" and "Paradise".
Rating: Summary: Exciting reading! Review: Very exciting with interesting plot. Not as good as Almost Heaven, but still one of her finest. Alex is really charming and while Jordan is very interesting. Wish the ending was a little more elaborate.
Rating: Summary: FIRST LOVE Review: SOMETHING WONDERFUL was the first Judith McNaught book I read and it did me a lot of good! This is a story that every woman will definitely fall in love with. Everything is there...humor, drama, comedy, romance. One will truly laugh and cry along with main characters. Never mind if he plot has been used many times, Miss McNaught delivered the story with wit and humor only she can do. I really fell in love with this novel that after reading it, I instantly became one of Miss McNaught's avid follower. Alex and Jordan became a household name for us. More power to Miss Judith McNaught!
Rating: Summary: It really was something wonderful! Review: I've loved Judith McNaught since I read Whitney My Love. Her stories have made me laugh and cry alternately. She has cleverly interwoven humor and passion in the novels I've read, be they historical or modern-day romances. No matter how expensive, I always make it a point to buy her books, even in paperback only, and I NEVER NEVER trade them. If I only borrowed from a friend and I loved it, I buy my own copy. (I specially grab one if there's a sale; if not, I put off buying one, but I still do!) I ONLY DO THIS FOR JUDITH MCNAUGHT novels. And so far, I've never read a book of hers that I don't eventually buy a copy of. More power, Ms. McNaught, and thank you from the bottom of the heart of a certified bookworm like me!
Rating: Summary: I liked this least among JM's regencies... Review: It was well written, as expected of a JM novel, but the plot was too cliche. 'Tomboy grows into a beautiful swan. Hard man needs to be reformed.' pls. give me a break!!! There are gazillions of romance novels like that. I want something new. It's also so annoying that Alexandra wanted independence...only to later ask Jordan for money so that she can leave him! Stupid, STUPID, girl. It can't beat Almost Heaven.
Rating: Summary: One of her best! Review: I have been a faithful fan of Judith McNaught for a year now and I absolutely fell in love with this book. Once again, Judith McNaught wrote a fantastic and suspensful love story. She captured the heart-wrenching love that Alex and Jordan have for each other so beautifully. Believe me, once you start reading this book, you can't put it down. Please read it with a box of tissue, because I guarantee that you will cry out of sorrow then out of sheer happiness. I highly recommend it!!!!
Rating: Summary: I am in Heaven Review: This book is sheer ecstasy and after I read it for the millioneth time I will tell you why.(pause) There I done now where do I begin. Okay first off is there a more perfect hero anywhere. I DON'T THINK SO! Jordan makes me shiver all the way down to my toes. I wish I could clone this man. The heroine is exactly what I like to see in a heroine, not to strong, but not a wimp either. Judith if you could would you please write more like this one. I really like your contemporaries but this one is perfection.
