Summary: Didn't live up to expectations
Review: Tell Me Lies starts out rather well but goes slowly downward once the main characters become romantically involved. The previous reviews guarenteed laugh out loud dialogue. But I found little humor and a contrived storyline. Better luck next time Ms. Crusie

Summary: Excellent!!!!
Review: I read a lot of books in my time, and this one put a definite mark on my brain. It was so good that I spent 3 days of my prized vacation reading it!!! Not too sappy, not too murder-mystery, it was perfect!!! It reminds me a bit of Olivia Goldsmith's writing. Carry on Ms. Crusie, this one's a winner!!!!!

Summary: One of My Favorite Books! Great Summer Time Reading!
Review: I don't get alot of time to read but when you find a book thats got mystery, humor, and passion like this one, I couldn't put it down. I loved the hero C.L.. What passion between he and Maddie. It makes you think of old high school sweethearts past. And the small gossipy little town hit home. I live in small town USA, and the way everybody knows everybody elses business is so true. My girlfriend read it when I was done and she couldn't put it done. Her favorite character was the mother. Until I read this book How Stella Got Her Groove Back was my favorite. I just saw it on the big screen, and I think Jennifer Crusie has a great box office hit here. I can just see Ben Afflect as C.L.

Summary: Romance, mystery and mayhem make an enjoyable mixture.
Review: Enjoyable quick read that I stayed up uncharacteristically late to finish. Characters are fresh and realistic. Everyone has a secret to hide.

Summary: Wish I had another Crusie at hand!
Review: I read _lots_ of fiction, some good, some mediocre, but I can think of maybe five books in the past several years that have caused me to cancel social engagements so that I could keep reading. This was one. A mystery, a romance, and a funny and sweet look at mother-daughter relationships. I can't wait for Crusie's next!

Summary: Had promise, but turned into a cheesy romance novel
Review: This book really had me going at first. Suspenseful, good plot twists. That was before the boyfriend started talking too much. Am I the only person who noticed that he was a little psychotic? He was obsessively demanding, & she found it endearing! This book could've been great, but I was so irritated by the guy that by the time I was done with it, I hated it. The romance angle seemed so contrived & awkward. It just didn't belong, & even the writing took a nosedive once the romance became a key plotline. This book was a huge disappointment to me, especially after the initial buildup.

Summary: An excellent page turner
Review: I breezed through this book in 2 days-it was hard to put it down! Like everyone else, I anxiously await Jennifer Crusie's next novel. This one would make a great movie!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Please, Jennifer, write another novel SOON!!!
Review: While this type of book is not one I would have normally chosen, I found myself checking it out of my local library. I couldn't put it down!!! I laughed out loud and cried and even got mad. (That Brent deserved what he got!) I would definitely tell everyone to read this wonderful novel!

Summary: finished in one sitting
Review: great read! this is the first crusie book i've read. can't wait to start on her other books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolute best book buy I've made in years!
Review: The wit, plot twists, character development, and suspense/mystery kept me hanging on from (literally) the first paragraph. I had ordered the book not knowing the author or the story and so was somewhat skeptical when I saw the unconventional cover...but alas, as they say "don't judge a book..." Anyway, my skepticism led me to "try" the first page. About four hours later, much to the amusement of my husband who first heard my skepticism and then heard my guffaws through the house, I finished the novel. What a wonderful ride it was...only wish every book I read was as good as this one! I've been loaning it out to friends and re-living the adventure each time they finish it and want to discuss it with me. What a great story!
