Many people do live by the code of "what will the neighbors think?" I found this book to be truthful about that one point. The characters are written very well. Some of them, I could see in people around me. I have not read a book in a long time that could combine sexy and funny as well.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Pretty Good Review: Whats really weird is that I was in the middle of this book when I saw the movie Hope Floats. I swear to God, except for the whole murder-mystery thing, they are the exact same thing, right down to the eight-year old daughter with glasses. It's a pretty good book, though, except I wondered for almost the entire book what C.L. stood for.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Laughable, light read Review: Very entertaining and funny. The author has a great sense of humor that is projected throughout the novel. She also has some surprises in store for the reader. I look forward to reading her other works now.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Boring Review: I lost interest in book book almost immediately after I started it. I found this book to be extremely boring and predictable. I read about halfway through this book and had to put it down.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Thoroughly entertaining Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and written with a sense of humor. I had a hard time putting it down. Romance, humor, and a little bit of mystery with a great ending.Would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a light, whimsical read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hilarious book! Review: I have read so many hilarious, delightful books lately and TELL ME LIES is one of the best! My favourite funny/romance writer is Susan Elizabeth Phillips but doesn't she herself say on the cover of Crusie's book:" A humerous mixture of romance, mystery and mayhem. A Winner!" And she's absolutely right! I loved all the characters - Maddie, Treva, Gran, Em, Mel and (wow!) C.L. As he says about himself:"Full service man, that's me." "That's what I heard," said Treva. The lines are funny but tender and the way C.L. sticks by Maddie and Em is admirable. Crusie is a very gifted writer ( and damned funny!). If you like Phillips and Janet Evanovich, you'll love this!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book must get a movie deal! Review: Crusie has spun an interesting web of love, lies and chocolate. It was so good I told my husband what was happening as I was reading. It got to the point of him asking me what it happened in the book while he was at work. The only annonying factor was the phrase, "oh, hell." It really got on my nerves. Treva and Maddie both used it entirely too often. Either Crusie meant couldn't think of another phrase or I missed the underlying point completely. Either way, the book is a page turner, and would make a great movie with Sandra Bullock and Nicholas Cage. Any producers out there? This could be a blockbuster!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is the book you HAVE to read! Review: I don't know if what I write can do this good justice. It's really wonderful, a mix of love, romance, murder, suspense, lust, money, deceit, betrayal, excitement, and adventure. You'll fall in love with the characters. Maddie Faraday is charming and real to all women who meet her. C.L. Sturgis is funny, sexy, and totally lovable and you'll want to take them home with you for more reasons then one. This is one of the best books I've read in a long time.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Funny and Delightful Review: I've never read Jennifer Crusie's books before and this is my first. It's a pretty good book - lots of funny lines and humourous situations set amidst a very real (and dark) scenario of adultery, murder, and trust. The book started out strong and wonderful, having my laughing out loud at several points. However the story begins to thin out after a while when the heroine makes a complete turn from Strong Brave Woman to Martyr Who Kicks Everyone She Loves Away after the murder of her cheating hubby. I feel like shaking some sense into her. Luckily that phase doesn't last long. Still, all in all, a good read. I'll loo out for her next one.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Very witty - a romance/suspense with great humor! Review: This is the first Crusie novel I ever read - I bought it because the cover looked fun. The book met my expectations and more. I read and re-read many passages because Crusie's humor had me laughing out loud. It was a great vacation read - not too serious or sappy - a perfect, light-hearted read. I immediately picked up her new book.
