Summary: Weak beginning but took off in the middle
Review: I got this book from an annual book swap, along with more than 20 other books. I admit that I wasn't particularly eager to read this book right away because the synopsis at the back of the book is not that interesting (and considering I have a lot of books to choose from). I had read 2 other books by Lisa Kleypas before, and concluded that Kleypas is a good writer (that which could keep a reader bound to the book; fast-paced), though the story line still needed improvement. Then Came You started out weak, but got interesting in the middle as the story shifted to a new plane, and the characters are given more depth. Overall, the book is good, but not a keeper. However, this would want you to look for the story of Derek, whose character ignites one's imagination and fantasy. I hope Dreaming of You will live up to my expectations, though the synopsis doesn't sound interesting enough. I'm still looking for the book, and will review it once I've finished reading it.

Summary: Wonderful Love Story
Review: I have read everything I can get my hands on from Lisa Kleypas and I have not read a bad book. Lilly and Alex's story is no exception. This is another story of trust and compromise. There is not a relationship in the world that can survive without both. Alex learns to except Lilly for the person she is and her friendship with another man. Lilly learns that Alex can help and comfort her without dominating her.

Summary: Absolutely delightful
Review: I love the characters of Lily and Alex. They seemed almost as if they were real people. I felt their pain especially Lily's over the loss of her daughter, and I love the Derrick Craven and am glad to see that he gets a book of his own later on.

Summary: Love this book!
Review: I love this book! I just finished reading it and it was one of the best books I read in a long time. I loved both characters a lot. Lily was strong yet vunerable. She was so funny and such a breath of fresh air compared to many of the heriones today who are the typical innocent virgins. She did not follow the rules of her time like everyone else. She did her own thing and people loved that she did. Alex was such the perfect mate. He was caring and strong. He turned out to be a better hero than I thought he would be. I don't think the cover of the book does him justice. Also the love scenes were great! They didn't take away from the romance, but added to it. This is my favorite book by Lisa so far and I can't wait to read Dreaming of You by Lisa next!

Summary: Excellent first book.
Review: I picked this book up by chance one day. I've never read any of her books before, and I was pleasantly surprised, and pleased with this book. Lawless Lily as she was known to men and all of England was a rebel, who shocked her society with her wild ways. She gambled and took dangerous risks. She was bound and deterimed to stop her sister Penny from marrying Lord Alex Raiford a powerful and rich man. Alex on the otherhand thought Lily was a fascinating woman to him, and he was determined to tame her and bend her to his will. There was a lot more to Lily that really made her endearing to me and to find out you will just have to read the book. The side characters were also excellently portrayed, just all-around fun read. Now I'm off to read the sequel called Dreaming of You.

Summary: Another Winner
Review: I read Dreaming of You first without knowing it was the sequel to Then Came You. Nevertheless, this was an excellent read. Lily a spitfire schemes to break up the engagement of her sister Penny to Lord Alex Raiford, Earl of Wolverton. While he is not in love with Penny, he feels she is a good match for him as he lost the woman he was first engaged to in a hunting accident. Penny too meek, would not be as adventerous. His first impression of Lily is that she is a woman with many lovers as she acts quite the coquette. She visits his home where her sister and family are with the intention of getting her sister back with Zachary, the man her sister truly loves. Alex and Lily dislike each other but cannot fight the attraction. Both knowing and losing a loved one they have something in common. This is a great story about a man trying to get over his fiance and a woman not willing to trust this man with her secrets. A difficult book to put down. Lisa Kleypas does not disappoint her readers with this one. Men like Alex are the type you will never forget. His love for Lily was something to sigh over.

Summary: then came you
Review: I read Then came you in spanish "Cuando tu llegaste" and I think that it's the best of the best. Alex and Lily are really lovely. I can't read more books by Lisa Kleypas Because In Spain Then came you is the only one of she. Una pena.

Summary: I can't get enough of Lisa Kleypas
Review: I read this out of sequence, reading DREAMING OF YOU before I even knew that it was a sequel. I enjoyed this novel just as much as I enjoyed it's sequel. I was all set not too when I first began reading it because I usually don't like romance novels where the hero has been heartbroken by the death of a wife or lover. In this novel, that's the case and I really got annoyed when the hero calls out his former girlfriends name when he first kisses Lily. However, besides this one thing, the novel is great. For one thing, I really liked the heroine. She wasn't some silly, stupid girl who lets the hero run all over her (you know, the type who claims to "hate" the hero, but then in the next second is in his bed---annoying!). I also loved the hero. He wasn't perfect, but he was ... as sin and he truly falls hard for Lily (despite his intentions not to). I loved the way he eventually gets her into his bed (it's not politically correct, but it sure is ...). The subplot--Lily trying to find her daughter--was also good. It was just enough of a subplot to keep the story moving and make it interesting, but not so much of a plot that the romance was overshadowed.

The only other thing ... that I didn't really accept was that Derek Craven wouldn't lend Lily any money (another reviewer also commented on this). It's clear that he is nearly in love with her and he's willing to spend money on her in other ways, so why wouldn't he lend her money? it makes no sense.

However, all in all, this was a terrific romance and definitly one worth buying.

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I was craving to get away from the 'innocent virgin' genre and this fit the bill.

I liked the chemistry between the protagonists, hate at first sight is a big 'yawn' but this was written in a tolerable way. If you are looking for Stephanie Laurens type bedroom scnese, don't hold your breath as this book is surprisingly conservative in that vein.

The main characters were credible, the supporting characters I also liked and they are more fleshed out than in most books. All in all a great diversion for a Saturday afternoon when you are sick in bed.
