Review: This was an incredible book. One I didn't want to end, but couldn't put it down until I finished. It was amazing. That'a all I can say to describe it. It took me days to stop thinking about it. I was so impressed; I have never before wanted to be a character so badly. I still have to get over it and it's been three weeks since I have read it. Since then I have read every Linda Howard book to relive the experience and every time she leaves me simply wanting more. This one however, is by far my favorite. Maybe just because it was my first, but I enjoyed it so much I had my sister read it and I was leaning over her shoulder the entire time. Now I have decided I might just read it again. Most authors find a formula that works for them and stick to it, draining it for everything it's worth. I don't feel like that's the case with her books. Instead, I feel as though it's the same two people from AFTER THE NIGHT, Faith and Gray, they are reincarnated and find each other all over again. Everytime is just as exciting, just as passionate. And I fall for it everytime. Loving every second of it. I have finished some of her books within a matter of hours, and then I am upset because I have nothing else to do and I go looking for another. I can't tell you enough, read this, you wont regret it instead you will make yourself a slave to her.

Review: I've always been a major fan of both historical and comtemporary romance since the very first time a romance novel was thrust into my hands. I have a huge collection of romance novels, and believe me, only the best makes it there. "After the Night" by Linda Howard is just simply incredible. I was a tad skeptical of it when my sister claimed is was the best comtemp. romance she had ever read. Well, I tried my hands and came up with the same result. Linda Howard is an amazing author weaving a tender, and very passionate tale. The plot was downright intriguing and I especially enjoy the sex scenes which only Linda Howard can create. If you wanna hear some advice, go for it. You won't regret....the only thing you'll regret is not having gotten it earlier....

Moving back to Prescott isn't easy however, and Gray Rouillard tries to block her at every turn. But neither Faith nor Gray can understand the strong attraction that is between them. As the story unfolds you uncover the mystery of Guy Rouillard and appreciate the growing relationship between Gray and Faith,. I first saw this story two years back and passed it off as another "rich guy meets poor woman" story, but after reading it I can honestly say this story is anything but that. Linda Howard was able to make her characters come to life, you identify with the feelings of Faith Devlin and you want to both slap and laugh at Gray at times. This is definitely not the usual romantic suspense novels I usually read, this story had more romance than suspense. However, there were enough steamy moments and character development that I didn't miss the constant tension of a suspense novel. Great job!! I am glad I opened my horizons to this book...it is on my list of favorites

Review: Linda Howard has a grasp on romance like none other I've read. This book kept me captivated from start to finish. She carries the reader through a myriad of emotions from spine-tingling suspense to heartbreaking sadness, and joy! Gray and Faith are so perfect as hero and heroine, and Howard knows how to bring her characters personally to the reader. She gives us the closest thing to a "real" Gray we'll ever have. I'm in love with love all ove again. Linda Howard is topps!

Summary: Loved it! Second only to Dream Man
Review: A great story! Faith a beautiful and wholesome girl who lives with her loose mother and sister and has drunks for father and brothers falls in love with Gray the son of the man her mother is having an affair with. He treats her well enough as a young girl but things change when everyone suspects that Faith's mom and Gray's dad run away together. White trash is what he thinks of her... When she returns to town several years later to investigate a few things, she finds she is still crazy about Gray and he finds her irresistible even though he knows everyone would disapprove of their being together. The harder he tries to rid of her from his town, the more stubborn she becomes. He is very crude at times but he's torn between getting rid of her and ensuring she comes to no harm. I enjoyed this book immensely. Diamond Bay is another great read but After the Night is #2 with me, #1 being Dream Man.

Review: A largely-passive heroine with a jerk for the "hero"/love interest. Love story didn't ring true. Expect to see this couple in divorce court in a year or so. At least it wasn't as bad as "Dream Man." Don't waste your time on either book or (sorry, Ms. Howard) on this author's work.

Summary: Howard's Best
Review: I read this book for the first time two years ago and have read it three times since then. I read and enjoy everything Linda writes and in my opinion this one is her best effort and Gray is her most romatic hero ever. Faith has been in love with Gray since she was a child. Although he finds Faith attractive, he is tortured by the fact that his beloved father ran off with Faith's mother and neither have been heard from for years. The night Gray realizes his father is gone, he evicts Faith and her family from the shack where they live on his family's land and runs them out of town. Years later Faith returns and Gray is determined to run her off again, but he cannot deny his attraction to her and admires the way she will not back down from him. In a small town where his wealthy family "owns" just about everything and everyone Gray makes sure the local supermarket and gas station will not sell to Faith so she must purchase food and gas at a nearby town. This from a ruthless hero who is at her doorstep 10 minutes after she phones him for help, terrified after finding roadkill in her mailbox. Believe me you'll love this book. Linda also writes the best love scenes. The porch scene.......what can be said that already hasn't been said about it except for the fact that it has to be one of the most erotic love scenes ever written. You'll laugh your way through the public restroom love scene and I also enjoyed Faith's massage from Gray on her custom made kitchen table. This is a very sensual and sexy read as only Linda can write. Handle this one with asbestos gloves. After The Night is my all-time favorite and I wish I could rate it ten stars.

Review: This is my first Linda Howard book. At the beginning I thought there was too much story about nothing, but that quickly changed. This book was well worth the read. Oh, and that bathroom scene was absurdly comical - LOVED IT! I would definitely recommend this book for those who love a good story and a wonderful, sensual romance. I will definitely read Linda Howard again.
