Summary: Great story!
Review: I loved this book so much! I had just started reading Linda Howard books from my local library but I was unable to get this one, so I ordered it online. I was not disappointed in the least! I thought Gray was the perfect Alpha male. He was so hunky! I'll admit that his earlier treatment of Faith wasn't the best, but he had his reasons. If you have never read a Linda Howard book, I recommend starting with this one, or MacKenzie's Mountain, another great LH novel.

Summary: Faith takes the Crown for the Queen of Morons!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: When I first read the reviews on this book I was so encouraged I went out to buy the book the same day. Boy was i disappointed!!! For starters the hero was a mean-hearted beast with no feelings and certainly no heart. And the heroin was a spineless twit. I can't imagine how could she have stayed in love with Gray - the same man who treated her (and her family) like dirt. No matter what anyone says - there was no excuse for him to say the things he said to a fouteen year old child - and she kept on loving him???????? There really was no reason for her to feel that way unless she was a total numb skull.... Also it still puzzles me how he fell for her too - it seemed all he had for her was lust then boom bang he wanted to marry her???? Common now, my intelligence was a little bit insulted by that. Lastly lets touch on the love scenes (and I used the word loosely here) -they were sleazy and tacky without a pinch of romance in them - they only managed to make me feel like I've just read a dirty magazine. It's certainly mind boggling how no one could see the that this book is an insult to any woman's intelligence and good judgement! Women like Faith should be shot for their asininity and men like Gray are the kind we should spend the rest of our lives seeking vengeance from!!!!!!

Summary: The best from LH!
Review: If I could only keep one Linda Howard book, this would be it. I try to get my favorites in hardcovers and have looked for this one for years. Finally, a large-print hardcover is scheduled to be published later this year. I have read this book at least 3 or 4 times over the years and it just keeps getting better. Do yourself a favor...do not miss this book. It is absolutely one of her best!

Summary: One of my favorite books
Review: Out of all Linda Howard's great books, this one is my favorite (along with Midnight Rainbow). It has everything... heart-stopping emotion, nail-biting tension, murder, mystery and lots of romance. It has parts that make you giggle, and parts that make you cry. In my opinion, it is a permanent keeper.

Summary: Vintage Linda Howard
Review: I usually love Linda Howard's books, and this is her best non-MacKenzie effort. The book is a classic balance of all the romance elements: exciting characters, steamy love scenes, humorous dialogue and just enough plot to keep things moving. Gray has got to be one of the all-time hottest romantic heroes.

Summary: Just can't get enough of this book
Review: Ok, I'm a sucker for romance. Especially this story. Ms. Howard knows how to get the juices flowing. I have read this book no less than 5 times and still enjoy reading it over and over again. The chemistry between Faith and Gray sizzles. I know I would have loved to trade places with her a few times, espcially in the public bathroom...oh lordy. A good mystery is thrown into the plot that brings Faith back to her hometown. Gray being the "rich bad boy" doesn't want the "trashy Devlin" girl back in his parish. He does everything in his power to make her go and fighting his strong attraction to her. could it be love? hmmmm Read this book and be ready to sit back and enjoy and forget to make dinner or clean house....

Summary: You must read this book !!!!!!!!!!
Review: I have read this book over 20 times, since I purchased it 2 years ago. I could not put it down. I fell in love with the characters, Faith and Gray, when I read it behind the sneak peak of "Shades of Twilight". I gave it to a friend and she read the book in 1 day. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves modern day romance and who wants a happy ending.

Summary: You'll need asbestos gloves for this one...
Review: The shear sensuality in this book is enough to make it burn in your hands. Never have two lead characters, Faith and Gray, been more suited for each other. It's so easy to just put yourself in Faith's (or Gray's, if your a man) shoes and really feel the sexual tension between these two people that make the story come alive around you. The plot is wonderful and is more realistic than contrived. Who REALLY done it? I wish that this book could have just gone on and on and on.....

Summary: tawdry
Review: If there were a 0 stars rating, this book would get it. I thought it a waste of paper. And yes, I ADORE Linda Howard & devour everything she writes. This one, I could barely read. I found it impossible to relate to the heroine and the hero - and I use those terms loosely! The "hero" was just plain mean; the "heroine" lacked pride, backbone, and common sense. Where was her brain? No, don't answer that. Maybe there are "characters" like them out in real life, but if there are, I don't want to read about them. The relationship (and again, I use that term loosely) between the two main character is tawdry, abusive, demeaning, twisted, and just plain out sick. Let the psychiatrists read the book and try to figure out the warped minds of the characters. The majority of the reviews raved about the "hot" sex scenes. Those scenes left me "cold" because there was no loving, no romancing, no sharing, no caring, no giving, no uniting.....as my title indicates,to me it was just plain TAWDRY!

Summary: I Just Had TO Give This Book Five Stars.
Review: I don't give too many books five stars but I couldn't see any other way around it. Not only did L. Howard write an entertaining story, but she created a nearly flawless hero, even though he was by no means perfect. If you like your males ALPHA and demanding but not abusive then Gray Rouillard is the man for you to spend a day or two between the covers (of the book, of course)with.

And about the heroine, she had a lot of character and a strong backbone to overcome her ugly childhood. But in this case perseverance paid off. She won the (sigh) hero.

If I had any complaints, it would be that the book could have been a wee bit longer. I would have liked Faith to be able to find her mother and the rest of her family even though they had not been good to her. And for us to be there for the wedding would have been nice.

If you have not read this book, I do recommend it.
