Summary: GIRL!!! SHE'S GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN!!!
Review: Linda Howard is the bomb. She has a wonderful imagination.
No regular old boy meets girl and falls in love for this author. No she has to go and give us this man (Gray)who's rough and crude, but a man with a itch. The girl (Faith)is that itch. Sparks fly, the ending is inevitable, but it's the getting to the end that's the interesting part. How do you take a man who has done and said the unforgiveable and make him the love interest of a woman that unforgiveable things have been done and said too and have them fall deeply in love. Well Linda has done with her typical flair, sensuality, and sizzle.
THIS IS A MUST READ FOR TRUE FANS!!

Summary: Unforgettable
Review: I read quite a number of Linda Howard's novels before I discovered After The Night - thought the MacKenzies series were among the best families I've ever read, Dream Man was a bit overated, and loved Duncan's Bride.

But After The Night just blew me away.

A beautiful storyline, made my heart ache and then soar and ache and soar again. I just absolutely LOVE these type of books.

I won't write a review of the book but rather just encourage anyone who's even looking at these set of reviews to stop right now and just order the book. There's betrayal, suspense, mystery, romance and a whole lot more in After The Night.

Faith and Gray cannot be more different and are totally not suited for each other given their family backgrounds, and this is not just a rich boy-poor girl issue! Yet, somehow Linda Howard manages to make them overcome all that baggage.

Linda Howard's stories rarely disappoint and this is one that definitely doesn't.

Summary: What can I add ??
Review: Perhaps a little bit of amateur psychoanalysis. Other reviewers have just about said it all. I guess it depends on what you like.
1)Yes, the hero is a cad, but so are many romance novel heros. There must be something sexy about that or it wouldn't be such a stereotype. I think the reason readers get get all hot and bothered over the bad boy type is that we know that, because we're reading a romance novel, he'll end up falling in love with the heroine and doing just about anything for her and that, at heart, he's not really a bad guy. In other words, his actions are just bad enough to intrigue readers, who know that no real harm will come to the heroine. In real life, we'd probably avoid bad boys like this (at least for a long-term relationship) because we don't have that safety net.
2) I think some people just do not identify quite as much as others with the southern setting and all that this entails, i.e., small town gossip, tawdry characters, hot weather that seems to carry over to hot lovin'
3)Finally, yes the sex scenes are explicit. Again, I guess it depends on the reader. If you're in the right frame of mind, you might just appreciate those scenes at times. My only advice is to keep a pitcher of ice water close buy---these are some really hot scenes.

To be trite . . . different strokes for different folks. I enjoyed the novel, but it's not tame so skip it if that's what you're looking for.

Summary: Very Disturbing.
Review: I'm sure lots of Linda Howard fans will hate me for writing this reveiw, but I just have to get this out. I HATED this book. I can't understand all the women who have written reviews saying how romantic it is. Yes, in places the book is very sexy, but not in an emotionally intense loving way - in an empty, soul-destroying, obsessive way. For me, there was no excuse for the abuse of power the hero displayed, and there was no excuse for the abusive way he treated the heroine. My personal opinion is that love is about trust, respect and truly knowing another person. Uncontrollable lust is great in the short-term, but to be honest, it does not last and it isn't all that romantic either.

If your best friend was married to a man who treated her like this, you would be urging her to find the strength to get away from him. How can it be justifiable to blame someone for the sins of their mother when they were only a child at the time of said sins? How can it be right to pile the blame on the female participant of the affair and pretend that the male must have been a poor bamboozled lamb, especially when he has a history of hedonistic adultery? The hero acted like a spoilt child, full of rage and prejudice against less privilaged people. Maybe it is because I come from England, where we have spent the last three hundred years fighting against the class system, that I find the term 'Trash' so objectionable. To me, anyone who would judge another person solely on the circumstances of their birth is shallow and bigoted.

Now, having said all this, I'm sure there are many people who still believe that this book is fabulous and that's fine - you have every right to enjoy whatever books you want. The purpose of this review is to give warning to any other ladies who feel like me, to prevent them from buying this book and being disappointed. If you loved the caring and the deep emotional connection between hero and heroine in 'MacKenzies Mountain' or 'Shades of Twilight', you will not find what you want in this book. Give it a miss.

Summary: Can I give it a million stars?
Review: Okay, where to begin? This is without a doubt one of the best romance books that I've read since "Outlander." Yes, it's that good. The bathroom scene alone was worth the price of admission. The only glitch in an otherwise fantastic book was the heroine, Faith. I found her to be a bit feeble at times...maybe a little too emotionally crippled. But, a small complaint, nonetheless. Gripping/emotionally charged storyline, super-sexy hero, intense and fun sex scenes, and interesting sub-characters. What more could a reader ask for?

Summary: THIS IS THE SEXIEST ROMANCE NOVEL EVER !!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is the sexiest romance novel ever!!!!!! It is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Gray is the sexiest alpha male ever...I bought this book when it first came out, and it really blew me away. The story is intense, and the sex is earthy and mind-blowing. It's a steamy, southern potboiler, and absolutely a keeper!

Summary: my first linda howard
Review: I bought this book based on the reviews and also the story line sounded interesting.
I will not go into the plot since other reviewers have done that. I will say that I didn't find this book romantic at all. Having the hero mouthing four letter words to the heroine while they are making love doesn't seem terribly romantic to me. I guess I'm kind of old fashioned.
Aside from that I thought the plot was flimsy and the story line involving his sister and his father's best friend was disgusting.
In short if you're an incurable romantic and love poignant, sweet romances look elsewhere.

Summary: NOT As Good as It Gets!!!
Review: I have to say that I was disappointed with this book. This is not the kind of romance I enjoy. It was vulgar, the hero was crude and the heroine enjoyed it. I found myself getting disgusted with the hero and wanting to tell the heroine to "WAKE UP!". I also guessed how the ending was going to turn out so not much suspense there.

Summary: Again & Again
Review: I loved this book. I could not put it down. And once I was done reading it I wanted to read it again and again. I still have it on my nightstand ready for me to pick it up and start all over. Linda Howard is a great author and I'm getting ready to start another one of her books. I can't wait!!!
