Summary: Awesome, Funny, and Romantic! A real smash!
Review: Meggin Cabot, author of The Princess Diaries, makes another hit with The Boy Next Door. Here we meet Melissa Fuller from Lansing, Illinois, where everyone knows your name. Mel while on her way to work one day finds that her neighbor, Mrs. Friedlander, has been knocked in the head by someone. But that's only part of it. Now Mel has to look after Mrs. Friedlander's dog Paco and her cats until one of her neighbor's relatives can be found. This leads to a tale of witty romance, mistaken identities, and hilarious mix-ups.

Written completely in e-mail format The Boy Next Door makes for an interesting story. I sincerely loved this book, and can't wait for Meggin's next book to come out.

Summary: Really a 10
Review: It is very hard to believe that a book can be written in all email and be readable. Ms. Cabot has outdone herself. I loved this little paperback and am looking forward to seeing if and how Hollywood treats it. I do wish Kelly Rippa would pick it for her best book of the month soon. I wish John Trent lived next to me but I guess he and Mel are happily married, ever after. Woe is me.

Summary: A Quirky Romantic Comedy
Review: Nothing makes me happier than a good comedy. Give me a comedy with a little romance, quirky supporting characters and a Great Dane and I'm in heaven. This book probably is funnier if you personally use e-mail, as the book is told through a series of e-mail messages from various characters. Those not used to e-mail may find this device distracting. Personally, I thought it seemed like I was in on a particularly good set of office gossip. I look forward to Ms. Cabot's next book.

Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny
Review: I am a long time fan of Meggin Cabot. The Princess Diaries series and her romance novels written as Patricia Cabot have all been wonderful. Her first contemporary adult novel was no disappointment.

First and foremost the all e-mail message format is fun and different. This format coupled with endearing characters and a screwball comedy plot makes this a great read.

Mell Fuller is a fun heroine. Interesting and strong but not perfect. The collection of her co-workers, family members, and friends who populate this book make it memorable.

Summary: Reasons why you'd want to read this novel:
Review: * It is completely written in e-mail format -- thus, making it an original read.

* It has a little bit of everything -- romance, humor, mystery, New York lifestyle, flaky supermodels, etc.

* It has insightful elements of chick lit.

* It is an overall witty, romantic romp.

Written by Meggin Cabot, the author of The Princess Diaries, The Boy Next Door is one of the most endearing and funny novels I have read in quite a while. I devoured it in one sitting. I couldn't recommend this gem enough!

Summary: Subject: Don't miss this book
Review: Dear whoever,
This book is a LOL delight. If you like boring books with dumb plots and unbelievable characters, don't buy this book. But if you enjoy laughing out loud, feeling like you've met some good friends, mysteries, and generally enjoying life, don't miss the Boy Next Door. It will make you :)

Summary: Hilarious, Hilarious, Hilarious!!!
Review: Mel (Melissa) Fuller is a gossip columnist for The NY Journal. She is also late for work. Again. Which marks the fact that she has been late for work 37 times this year, exceeding 20 minutes. So now she has received an e-mail from the Human Resources division telling her that she is eligible to participate in the Staff Assistance Program. The only annoying thing is the fact that she has a great excuse this time. And it's not made-up. Mel found her 80-year-old neighbor lying face down in her apartment, and apparently she was struck by an intruder. Had it not been for Mel she could have died. But now she has the responsibility of taking care of her neighbors dog until the police find her only living relative. Not only that, Mel has just broken up with her boyfriend Aaron for finding out about his cheating on her, and she can't seem to get the chance to write an important editorial, because her boss is a jerk. I mean, how long can you write gossip about celebrities for Page Ten?

This is a hilarious book, much along the lines of "Bridget Jones's Diary" and an adult "Princess Diaries." Meggin Cabot has shown, yet again, that she can succeed in any genre of writing. A must read for everyone.

Summary: Entertaining Enough
Review: I read "Boy Meets Girl" before this one, so I enjoyed reading about the characters that reapper in "Boy Meets..." However, I still couldn't get past the fact that this was written in emails. I wish it had been written in novel form. Also, the story line is repeated in "Boy Meets Girl." It was entertaining enough, but not entertaining enough for a second read.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: "Friends" and "Sex & the City" meets BAD WRITING
Review: I wish I could say that this was a really great book and Meg Cabot has done it once again, but I can't.

Melissa is the Gossip columnist for New York Chronicle. She lives in Manhattan and one day she finds that her next door neighbor has been hit on the head and is unconcious in her apartment. While her neighbor, Helen, is in a coma at the hospital, Mel takes up the responsibility for Helen's animals, which she clearly does NOT have to do. Then she contacts Helen's famous photographer nephew. Instead of the nephew, someone posing as the nephew shows up to take care of the animals.

This whole book is written through emails, which gets EXTREMELY irritating to read.

Who actually emails anyone this much? PUH-LEEZ. This book is dumb and just not written well.

All of Cabot's other books are great. NOT this one.

Summary: My all-time favorite book.
Review: I hope they make a movie out of this someday--it's such a romantic, perfect story! An absolutely incredible book.
