Summary: Exceptional horse story.
Review: To me the "people story" is second to the "horse story". I imagined one of my horses being in such a terrible accident and how he would react -or how I would react. An awesome story that I passed on to my vet and her assistant, my best friend and my farrier. They all were moved by the feelings so aptly described. Can't wait for the movie.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Enriching body a poor ending
Review: I could not put this book down. The body of this book andthe way the author goes into detail of his subjects is great reading. It filled me with great emotion. But the endof the book seemed uncharacteristic of what the"Horsewhisperer" would have done. It just didn't make any since to me. I'm sure the author wanted the readerto be shocked, but did he want his readers to feel empty

Summary: FAB DARLING
Review: I couldn't put it down. This is definitly one of the most awesome books written. I would recomend this book to anybody, who enjoys a good book. Read it, AND THAT'S AN ORDER!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: light reading, entertaining
Review: I read this book as part of my study of Tibet. I became fascinated by the stories of Tibetans who can allegedly communicate with animals. The author knew about this phenomenon but didn't quite develop it to my satisfaction. It's a good story though, I read it in two sittings.

Summary: An absolute must read!
Review: A rare look into the world of mothers and daughters, husbands and lovers, and the conflict between the city and the wide open spaces of Montana. The author speaks volumes in his ability to express the feelings between a man and his horse. After loaning this book to several friends, I am confident that I am not alone in saying that the laundry, dirty dishes, and marketing for dinner were are all neglected until it was finished

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I thought the author did a wonderful job for his first book
Review: I really liked this book. It was gripping and kept you in suspense until the very end. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It was a wonderful tale for those of us who are animal lovers! I hope Nicholas Evans writes more books. I will definitely buy his books.

Summary: Bridges of Madison County North
Review: Why did I think that I would glean some spiritual insights from this book? I was not sympathetic to the characters, and think the author is fortunate, indeed, to have gotten in on the slipstream of "Bridges"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book to wake the spirit we sometimes forget we have.
Review: The best story I have read in a long time. It will awake feelings in the soul you forgot you possessed. All those near and dear to me have a copy of this book -- husband, mother, best friend...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great! A nice tale, Manhattan vs. the great planes......
Review: ....and guess who wins. A story about America, and horses, which first bred in America. If you like both, don't miss it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Compelling, but a little too adulterous
Review: I am usually not the type of reader that likes Daniel Steele, and many of those so-called "romance" novelists, but I've often enjoyed love stories. Nicholas Sparks' books have always inspired me, and some even made me cry, and I believe that the first time I read this book, I was emotially saddened.

People tell me that the ending was horrible for this book, and that Evans just wanted to stop writing the book. I thought that it wasn't too bad. That despite how the family (for those who have not read it, I will not note any specifics) acted "strangely" towards the girl for what she's been through; the father's lack of character (despite his wife cheating on him, the reader does not notice how sad/etc. he is) that the ending, which makes one think about what s/he would do if s/he was in their shoes, and imagine what is to come afterwards worked out well.

But, I also take a half star off for all the unnecessary sex and a fairly rushed ending.

If you are one that liked Nicholas Spark's books, you will definately enjoy this book. You'd also probably enjoy it if you liked Daniel Steele... or if you have read Janice Graham's FIREBIRD, it is rather similar...

If you're a fan of Science Fiction, I'd stay away... and also if you hate any kind of book with a lot of sex, and "mushy-stuff..." :)
