Summary: A waste of time
Review: I picked up this book due to curiosity. The fact that it was on the bestseller's list for several months along with a seemingly interesting plot compelled me to read it. I regret wasting any amount of time on this poor excuse for a novel. The book had the schmaltzy dialogue that one would find in a cheap romance novel. What could have made for interesting drama (ie., the plight of young Grace) was overshadowed by an affair between the two main characters that lacked both credibility and appeal. There are plenty of well-written books out there that accomplish the drama that Evans could only hope to achieve (Isabelle Allende, Toni Morrison, etc.). Give it up Evans!

Review: Everything that is wrong with the book is fixed in the movie. The movie is what the book should have been. Usually the book is better than the movie, but here it is reversed. If you see the movie, you will love the story so much you will be tempted to read the book. Don't!

Summary: A very good book.
Review: I saw the movie before I read the book. I was surprised that the movie and book followed pretty closely, except for the ending. I found that shocking. Although it was a good book I found all of the characters annoying. Annie is too *****y, Tom and Robert are too nice and to me Annie doesn't deserve both of them. And if Grace were my child, I would never allow her to be so sassy. Thought the characters were irriating at times the meaning of the story was well done. I applaud Mr. Evans. Go out and read this book!!

Summary: It's the most wonderful, epic, romantic book ever!
Review: This book it's not just about horses, or two people faling in love & so on. It's about a man with the power to heal broken spirits, to mend broken hearts. The story is about a woman who has deprieved herself of happiness by going out to the world and challenge it to pull her down, her daughter who loves horses who has an accident and the horse, driven mad by pain; fight for survival that is the uderstanding of suffering. This woman is fighting to heal both her daughter & the horse by going to this man who is their saviour.

Summary: A have to read today book!
Review: This book sucks you in at the begining, I didn't want to put it down! This story is so realistic and you feel as though you are the person, weather it be Annie, Grace, or Tom, you know exactly how they feel. The ending is suprising, I really didn't want it to end there. I have been to many of the places in the book, you can actually feel smell and breath the air, the intensity. If you haven't read it, go get the book and read it, you will be happy that you did

Summary: A Good Fast Read, Predictable but Still Enjoyable
Review: I'd already seen the movie when I read this book. For those who haven't seen/read one or the other, I'll simply say - do both. They're two different takes on the same story; who says you can't like both versions? Neither is high intellectual fare; they're just entertainment. And sometimes entertainment is what it's all about.As to the beauty of Montana - I live in Colorado, and if you've never seen the Rockies for yourself, both the book and the movie will do their best to entice you here; do yourself a favor - let them!

Summary: pretty good
Review: I finally gave in and read this book. After so many people telling me I HAD to, I was determined not to, but lo and behold, I was desperate for a "subway" read and it literally appeared before me in our company book bin. To my surprise, I found I was hooked immediately. It definitely has a soap opera feel, and at times is melodramatic, but on the whole, the author offers a sweet, sad story. It's definitely predictable, but sometimes that's ok. What I liked best was that Mr. Evans actually developed his characters. There were elements of depth that I'm not use to reading in popular novels. All in all,I would recommend this book. I have a feeling it's probably better than the Robert Redford film, which I bet is more focused on his character, Tom Booker, than the book was. But, I guess, eventually I'll rent it and see for sure. And, hopefully, be pleasantly surprised.

Review: Like many- i think it was an awesome book! At age 13 I had no trouble getting into it- thoughb it isn't a "baby" book, its a nicely written novel. Though I think that the affiar REALLY took away from the story line. I love horses and I thin that they should have focused more one the horse and retraining it, after all it is called the Horse Whisperer. I didn't like the idea of the whole affiar. It was a horriable tragity, but as a rider I know very well that it was so realistic and it scares me to know that that could really happen (tough chances are less likely with the new safty sturrips) So to all those riders out there- take care when riding on the road in winter AND summer, and everywhere inbetween. The Horse Whisperer is the type of book that keeps the reader breathless with anticipation, it is a world class page turner. When you shut the cover (and thats a rare event) you can't wait to continue reading. After reading the first half of the book, you'll find yourself wondering if there really is a Tom Booker, Double Divine Ranch and beings with the spirit of life, such as Pilgrim's and Grace's ( hopefully there is...) this book will help you see, Love in the world for what it should be. Unconditional. The Horse Whisperer is the best book I have ever read. And I have read a lot. I can't wait to read The Loop. Without a doubt, The Horse Whisperer is the World's Finest.

Summary: An Outstanding Novel With Love and Adventure
Review: This is a great novel. I thought it was great how the author tied in love and adventure. He made you feel like you were there watching the whole time. You learn how an accident with a horse can change your whole life forever. The novel is about a young girl who get's in a horrific horse accident and looses her leg. The novel takes them to Montana where they get help from Tom a horse whisperer. The girl's mother falls in love with Tom and doesn't know how to deal with her feelings. What will the girl do when she finds out? What will they do when they fall in love? How will she tell her husband? Read the book to find out!!!!!
