Summary: Love is sometimes right under your very nose
Review: Jennifer Crusie's Manhunting which was her first novel and the last one of hers I read was just as enjoyable as all her other novels. Ms. Crusie has a flair for making me laugh. Since I take mass transit, it's not always a good idea to read of one Ms. Crusie's novels as the people sitting next to me sometimes tend to slide over or give me that look (is she crazy) after I've just burst out into fit of giggles. Kate Svenson a woman on a mission to find Mr. Right and Jake Templeton a man who swore he would never be serious about another woman was captivating. Kate and Jake's friendship grew into a fierce attraction. It was amazing how the entire town guessed where both Kate and Jake's feelings lie but the two of them didn't catch on until they were too far gone to notice. Kate and Jake's story was highly entertaining. Whenever I need a pick me up, I pick up Jennifer Crusie as she always comes through.

Summary: A Fresh and Funny tale...
Review: Kate Svenson is a highly successful, financially comfortable businesswoman, who stands to inherit a truckload of money from her rich father. Somehow, none of that makes her the least bit happy. Her life is missing something important....Mr. Right.
With the uninvited help of her best friend, Kate makes a plan to find that perfect man. He must be distinguished, intelligent, aggressive and successful. So her friend convinces her to spend some time at a golf resort in Kentucky, a place that should be crawling with men of those qualities. Once there, she forces herself to mingle and date. But calling her dates "bad" would be an understatement. She pushes Lance in the pool, gives CPR to Peter, and it doesn't improve from there. Her escape is fishing on the lake with the resort's silent partner and groundskeeper, Jake Templeton. Jake, a former tax attorney, has left the fast lane behind in favor of daily naps in his rowboat floating beneath the willow tree. It's not long before Kate throws her plan out the window, in favor of the mutual attraction developing between her and Jake. But how will these polar opposites ever find a common ground for a life together?

I'm quickly becoming a fan of Jennifer Crusie. I started with "Welcome to Temptation", which was a riot, and this is now my second read by her. This was such a sexy, fun story, full of witty dialogue. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters of Kate and Jake. Definitely a must-read. I'm working on reading Ms. Crusie's backlist, and I just can't wait to start my next book by her!

Summary: A good one but not her best one
Review: Man Hunting was my 2nd Crusie's book and, let's face it, my less prefered one so far. Some typical Crusie's stuff are here but it is not ... I would say, heavy enough!

It is funny, the relationship between the two heroes is sexy and witty (or the other way round, as you please) but the frame of the story is too thin. The characters are pleasant but not built enough. The conclusion is happy but comes too fast.

I haven't given up Crusie after this one, but I knew she could do better. I would recommend it to start with Crusie!

Summary: This is one of my favorite Crusie's
Review: Manhunting is a five star read if there ever was one. If you're feeling blah and want a good laugh - along with a wonderful romance - you can't get better than this!

Kate Svensen is thirty-five, gorgeous and has a successful career. She's the kind of heroine we all love to hate. But wait a minute this is a Crusie heroine after all and not your standard perfectly coifed heroine. Not at all. Kate may be more successful than most of us ever dream of becoming but she's also insecure and more than a little bit unhappy. Her job bores her, her breasts are starting to droop and she's given up on love after dating a string of losers who only want her for her money. Despite this Kate still wants a husband, a compatible husband who is as successful and driven as she is. And what better place to find him than at an exclusive golf resort catering to singles?

But instead of meeting a decent hard-working man Kate only finds more losers at the resort. The trip isn't a total bust however because she does meet Jake and the two strike up an instant friendship. Jake is beautiful and they have a ton of fun together. But he's also totally unmotivated, admittedly lazy, and just about the slowest moving person Kate has ever come across. He's so not what Kate is looking for.

Jake had been married to a cold, self-centered woman and now wants to settle down with a nice, dumb bimbo who thinks he's the end-all be-all of her world. Definitely not Kate. But the two are honest with each other and begin spending a lot of time together because they believe they are "safe" with each other.

All their well-laid plans are blown to shreds when love takes over and then the fun really begins!

Manhunting is a classic Jennifer Crusie tale filled with humorous situations, tons of witty dialogue that is simply about two people who love spending time together. The conflict is believable and never feels contrived and the book doesn't get weighed down with subplots. There are a few great secondary characters who add to the fun but never take over the spotlight. "Manhunting" is the book to choose if you need a quick "pick-me-up".

Summary: HUNT FOR THIS BOOK! QUICK!
Review: MANHUNTING is stupendously hilarious with Jennifer Crusie's fast quips and great one liners from the characters. It shows how miraculously how our fates could intertwine and blossom into unexpected romances. Ms. Crusie gives romance a bone-tickling tag to it with sweet poignancy and emphathetic sensitivity to the character's development. Kate is the modern independent hard-edged career woman who insists on embarking her plans to a wonderful life, but little did she know her match was to be one of the most incompatible - Jake Templeton, a man embittered by divorce and the manipulative and cold business life he once was engaged to.

MANHUNTING churns out humour fast and vigorous with enough slapsticks to entertain during Kate's visit to Cabin Resort - but this only encompasses half of the charm in this book. The characters are wickedly flawed yet true-to-life and makes the reading even more genuine with a sparkle. The insecurity and vulnerability of Kate marks the tombstone of every woman's nightmare and Jake as a sensitive new age guy is deliciously endearing. It's this kind of romance that hauls back rollicking fun with nostalgia and effervescent chemistry.

Ms. Crusie has never been better before and this time after the rejuvenating read - it better send woman going hunting not for the men, but this fabulous book to keep you through the festive season.

Summary: Manhunting a great novel
Review: Manhunting was so great. I Loved this story so much. I especially loved the comedy in which Kate dispatched all the men who went out with her.

Summary: 5 stars-no doubt!!
Review: This book had me laughing from almost the very first page! I loved the way Kate and Jake "met". Kate's dates were-of course-the best parts of the book. I was laughing out loud every time she'd go on a date because she ALWAYS had some kind of bad luck. And Jake was almost ALWAYS there, too! I'm laughing out loud just thinking about some of his reactions. For example, saving someone from drowning, giving CPR, and loading another one into his truck to take him to the hospital. Near the middle-ending of the book, Kate (luckily for the guests) stops dating, and concentrates on her attraction for Jake. I've read three other books by Jennifer Crusie, and this one is by far the funniest! But then, she always keeps her readers laughing. Definently a keeper!

Summary: A Good Read
Review: This book is a good afternoon read. There is something that keeps you reading. It could be to see who Kate is going to hurt next. The two main people Kate and Jake are good together. Very funny and sexy. Very well written because you can't picture Kate and Jake with anyone else. I would like to read a sequal to Manhuting about Will. Jennifer Crusie if you read the reviews please take note.

Summary: My New Fave Author!
Review: This book was great. I loved the storyline, the banter, and the dialogue never got dull. I now own 3 of Jennifer Crusie's novels and I have not yet been disappointed. This was the first one I read and after I did not want to read anything by anyone else. I loved the characters, especially Kate and Jake. I can find people in my own life and in my small home town who fit these personalities. This is a wonderful novel for someone who likes romance but does not like the cheesey overly mushy stuff. If you like a pick-me-up kind of story with a contemporary edge and love the idea of true love and learning not to settle you will love this book. I read this when I was feeling down about my love life and it made me feel more optimistic. There is also a lot about career and finding and doing what you really want to do.
