Rating: Summary: lori does it again! Review: another great and funny read by lori foster! I can always get a lori foster book and never feel as if I wasted a buck.
Rating: Summary: Humourous and a great love story Review: Even before I got my hands on the book, when it was still in the stages of being ordered, I was waiting impatiently for the book to get to me so that I can read it. Sometimes the book is depicted to be better than it actually is. But in this case, Joe and Luna have great adventures which also shows their affection through their characters. Luna is a strong female character who has managed to evade Joe's charms for so long and her love for the two children she became responsible for is evident. The humour adds more interest of the reader to the book.
Rating: Summary: Decent but nothing special Review: Every time a new Lori Foster book is released, I run right out to the bookstore to buy it. Normally my anticipation is rewarded by fun, sexy, absorbing read. But I was terribly disappointed with "Say No to Joe," Foster's latest "Winston curse" book. When we were first introduced to Luna and Joe back in "Wild," they were very well-developed characters with very distinctive personalities. One of my biggest gripes with "Say No" is that the book doesn't really present us with any of that distinctive personality. On top of that, the secondary characters were a disappointment. In many of Foster's books, she pulls in new secondary characters that she then uses as central characters in following books. Normally, she does a great job of developing the characters, giving them a personality and a reason for being there. Not so in "Say No." The secondary characters seem without a purpose, tacked on. The book does give us a lot of what makes Foster good. I think some of her fans will be happy with this book (some are, as evidenced by reviews). But I found this book to be flat and lacking in distinction. Foster is used to writing shorter, tighter, books, and I think it shows -- I think this book could have been trimmed into a more enjoyable, tighter read. Don't get me wrong -- even Foster's most ho-hum offerings are still ahead of a lot of the romance market. But, compared to many of her other books, where the plot and characterization are crisp and tight, "Say No to Joe" is a disappointment. I'd advise all but the most devoted Foster fans to check it out of the library or pick it up used.
Rating: Summary: This one's a keeper! Review: Generally, I don't like Lori Foster's books, at least the ones I've looked at; they're usually, IMO, short on good story and long on erotic scenes. So, when the folks at The Book Rack in St. Louis recommended Say No To Joe? I hemmed, hawed, dithered, and finally relented and bought it. Couldn't have made a better purchase for the summer! Say No To Joe? is a fun read. Good story, interesting characters that the reader can actually care about and enjoy, good plot with interesting kinks in it, and good dialogue. Moreover, the story is well written. In my book, that makes for a hit. This Lori Foster book is a definite keeper!
Rating: Summary: Good read! Review: God help Joe Winston, the big lug. Kicking butt his is idea of good times. Getting the one and only woman who denies him would be great times. Since the first day he met the free spirited Luna Clark three months ago, he has wanted her so bad his teeth hurt. He knows it'd be a mind blowing romp between the sheets. If he could only get the chance to prove it to Luna who, damn her, is resisting. He'd have to slowly chip away at her defenses. Luna is a strong woman. It will take some time. But she doesn't exactly hang around him much.
Enter fate.
Luna Clark is a woman. And all women react to bad boy Joe Winston's good looks and charm. She must keep Joe at a safe distance or else she will take a nasty tumble towards the heart breaker. But then she learns her young cousins need her. She also learns the town isn't fond of her cousins and she'll need some help. She'll need someone fearless, someone intimidating, someone she could trust, someone who could steal her heart.
Enter Joe Winston
Rating: Summary: Impossible to Say No to Joe Review: How can anyone not love a book by Lori Foster? She is one of the best writers out there. Her characters will keep you up all night as they did me. Luna Clark is so believable that I felt like I really knew her. And Joe, well you've just got to read this delightful book to learn why it's just about impossible to SAY NO TO JOE. I adored this wonderful book and I think you will too. Really, I do.
Rating: Summary: Nice easy reading Review: I bought this book after reading all the glorifying reviews in Amazon.com. Well, I'd say that this is just a nice easy reading, The plot has potential, but somehow it turned out to be too light and superficial.I don't feel too keen about the characters too. I couldn't feel the deep emotional bond between the lead characters, eventhough Ms. Fosters described the play of emotion between them in so many words somehow it just didn't work out for me. The suspense she tried to create by introducing the mysterious assailant could not help pick up the tempo. In the end I'm glad I finished the book, I'd hate paying for it and never finish it, out of bore. If you're looking for a simple easy romance novel to kill the time, then this one can sufficiently fit the bill, but if you want to read a romantic suspense novel where you can get so carried away with the story and bonded with the characters, this is not the one for you. I won't buy the Secret Life of Bryant which is the sequel of this book.
Rating: Summary: different kind of story! Review: I bought this book because I am a huge Lori Foster fan and even though this is not exactly what I was hoping it would be it was still a very good story.
Rating: Summary: I like the humor, Review: I enjoy the humor Lori Foster puts in most of her stories. She's unique that way.
