Summary: a great read
Review: I haven't laughed so much in years. I kept calling my sister and reading sections of the book to her. What a great story! I loved every word of it. Can't wait to recommend it to my reading circle.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great fun on the high seas
Review: What a hoot! I would have given it 4 and an half stars if I could, actually I'd give it 5, but I don't believe anything is perfect. This is a good read though. I laughed a lot, cried a little and enjoyed the story.

Summary: Master Of Seduction? Err...
Review: What do you expect from a pirate called the Master Of Seduction? Grand passion? Interesting and body-stretching positions? Well, the hero here prefers the missionary position. What a disappointment.

And the story isn't anything new as well. It's readable, but I can't help wondering where they hid the real Master of Seduction.

Summary: Totally Enjoyable
Review: Arrogant, dropdead gorgeous, womanizing pirate meets beautiful, independent, non-seduceable society belle. What a combo! So nice to read a book where the two aren't in bed by the end of the first chapter - or the third - or the sixth! The contest of wills, as well as the wager between the two, is a most enjoyable example of one-upmanship. One minute I was rooting for the hero, the next for the heroine. And the other characters were, by turns, comical, supportive, totally believeable - even the villain wasn't beyond redemption. Would love to see a book on Morgan, Jack's best friend.

Summary: A true keeper!
Review: I'm not sure how I stumbled across this book. I was clicking links on Amazon and just happened on it. As I was reading the reviews for it, the one about being a jaded romance reader stuck in my mind and I thought hey, that's me because I use to buy romances by the hand fulls, but over the last few years I've gotten to where I only buy a few truly great authors like Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey, Jude Deveraux, Heather Graham or Dara Joy. I mean let's face it so many books are mediocre at best with the same old same old.

But this one is definitely one of those rare keepers like The Windflower or The Gift or The Flame and the Flower or Velvet Highland. The kind of book that you hang on to year after year and find youself rereading it because it is so wonderful and the people just leap off the pages and into your heart.

There are so many wonderful things about this book. The love story between Jack and Lorelei, but more than that there's Kesi and Tarik, Billy and Alice, and Sarah and her ex-priest turned pirate cook husband who taught her to sign (I bet there's another great book in that story), and of course the rapscallion Kit, oh and the two pirates who served dinner. What a hoot! I FELT these people. I mean really, truly felt them. I even liked Justin the lecherous snob that he was.

I found myself laughing out loud as I read, and then holding back tears, and when I got to the end, I actually stood up and cheered! Hero, thy name is Jack Rhys and thou art a most perfect, sexy hero at that.

Finally I guess all I have to say is thank you Amazon for crosslinking books so I can find such wonderful treasures, thank you whoever wrote that one review that caught my eye and made the book stick in my head, and thank you Kinley MacGregor for writing a book I'll be reading for the rest of my life. I hope I never miss another one of your books.

Summary: Brilliant!
Review: What a delight to read. Great dialogue and wonderful, heartwarming characters. I loved Henri and would love to see a book for him. What a strange cast of pirates. And Jack took my breath the moment he appeared. I really felt the people in this book. Bravo, Ms. MacGregor! You did it again!

Summary: A delightful read
Review: I just loved the humor in this book. The banter between Jack and Lorelei was great! It's so nice to see a heroine who can hold her own and one who knows how to handle a man as opposed to the simpering wall flower who is unused to men, etc. I found the writing refreshing and fun. And Jack is a major hottie. I wish he were real. He's the perfect example of what I read romance for. Dark, tormented, yet not sadistic or cruel. He treats her with respect. Well done, Kinley. You can add me to your list of fans.

Summary: Takes the High Sea by Storm
Review: Lorelei is looking for adventure when she volunteers to help her fiance, Justin Wallingford, capture the notorious pirate Jack Rhys. But her ruse goes awry when she's taken hostage by the bucanneer. Jack has his reasons for using Lorelei to exact revenge on the Wallingfords. She appears to be the ideal pawn, but she's far too bold, too beautiful and too smart and ends up enticing Jack. Lorlei has no problems fitting in aboard Jack's ship and using her wits and beauty, she's sure she'll wrap him around her little finger. But they are both in for a surprise; for as they match wits they find themselves unmasking each others hidden secrets, vulnerabilities and dreams. Their friendship begins turning to love. Even their challenging wager about falling in love takes on new dimensions as desire simmers between them. Sea battles, shipwreck and a final confrontation with Jack's mortal enemy climax in an exciting heartstopping moment. Kinley MacGregor takes the high seas by storm with this fast-paced highly entertaining debut. The seductive cat-and-mouse games, wagers and challenges make everything sizzle and keep you glued to the page. With Master of Seduction, Kinley MacGregor makes an impressive mark on the genre.

Summary: Hi Everyone!
Review: Do you remember when you were little and you talked to yourself? Maybe your mother was like mine and said "It's okay so long as you don't answer."

Well, one day I started answering. At first I was somewhat afraid, after all my mother was usually right about her advice-- of course she did dress me in that AWFUL purple polka dot thing on the first day of school, telling me how cute I looked and that no one would laugh at it. They did, and I was forced me to knock some poor boy over the head with my purse to make him stop calling me the one-eyed, one horned, flying, purple people-eater--I had to defend my five year old honor, don't you know?. And then my older brother told me about schizophrenia (in that way big brothers do so as to scare the living daylights out of you). Luckily though, my teacher was a little less frightening when I told her about the voices telling me their stories. She asked if I had ever thought of writing them down.

Writing them down...hmm....

Well more years later than I'll confess to, I want to thank you, Miss Vangellow. I did write those voices down and no, big bro, I'm not schizo! And mom, I didn't need counseling after all ;) Well, not for the voices, but maybe for that dress....

After all these years and all those fears, I found happiness with my voices and with the fact that I'm able to share with others those stories that I've been collecting for a lifetime.

Master of Seduction is the prequel to A Pirate of Her Own. Jack, like most others, started as just a whisper in my ear one day of a little boy telling me what horrors he had seen. As a man, he was haunted by demons and by the British Navy set on his destruction. Fascinated, I sat down and out came the book. I adore Jack and Lorelei, and I hope their story touches your heart as much as it did mine.

I'd also like to thank everyone who bought and read A Pirate of Her Own. The letters and support from my fans has been overwhelming. Thank you! I'd also like to thank Doubleday Book Club for choosing Master of Seduction for one of their February selections. It is truly an honor that I cherish deeply.

And now, I'm hearing voices again, only these belong to my three boys who are wanting mom to come read Toy Story to them--how can I refuse those dimpled smiles?

So I'll leave you with a cyber-smile :) and good wishes to you and those you love.

Summary: Good book - not a fantastic Kinley book!
Review: Everyone of the MacAllister series and the knight books I absolutely loved and gave 5 stars too. I just did not feel either Jack nor Lorelei were the compelling characters as in the other books. Jack started out too cockey and too sure of his seductive powers and Lorelei seemed all to sure of her powers to make any man fall to her charms. Neither quite appeared vulnerable enough to really make you feel as strongly for them, as in the other Kinley books. Still I do like Kinley's style of writing and found even this book better than many many other novels out there. And I will give a go at Pirate of her Own about Morgan.
