Rating: Summary: Funny! Review: This is the first book of Jane Green's that I have read. I found it hilarious but incredibly shallow. If you are looking for a funny book that is very light hearted this is the book for you!
Rating: Summary: Most entertaining Review: I LOVED this book. It was one of those books that your thinking about when you're not reading it, wondering what's going to happen. I loved the character of Libby. Very energetic and entertaining gal. Didn't want it to end and was sad when it did....not that the ending was sad...it was perfect!
Rating: Summary: Jane Green Does it again! Review: After I read Jemima J, I decided to read another Jane Green novel. This is a wonderful story of 27 year old Libby Mason, trying to find a man. Nick, a former acquaintance, comes into her life, and what was supposed to be a no-commitment relationship, becomes more involved. I thought that with the exception of a very explicit sex scene, that this is a wonderful book. I reccomend this with Jemima J, you won't be able to put them down.
Rating: Summary: Jane Green wins again Review: After reading Jemima J, I had to pick this up. I was a little put off at first, as it took me litertally months to get into. Once I picked it up again and read through the first 20 pages, I was hooked. I brought it to work and even class, I couldn't put it down. It's an adorable story and an easy read.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Romantic Story!! Review: This story is told from the point of a fun loving, fashion freak, Libby. She is in love with all things glamorous. When she tries the free-love thing and it doesn't work, she figures why not be with a rich famous man. Basically this British Babe has it all backwards and gets lost in love, life and money. A wonderfully fun story that will keep you reading and hoping that she can get her head out of the clouds.
Rating: Summary: Easy Read Review: This book is an enjoyable escape book. I read it literally in two days and i thought it was very good. Funny - Witty and Interesting. A "Girl's Book".
Rating: Summary: For the single later 20's to 30's... Review: This was a great read for anyone who has been their done that in the dating world. Yes, it is a bit predictable but some of us find comfort in the obvious. I'm 27 and my friends are with in the same age bracket so, I think we or at least someone we know can relate to this book. The story made me laugh and as Melissa wrote in a review I read just before, what a great sex scene, yes the bath tub scene is worth the read. It's a story about one girls quest to find Mr. Right or at least what she thinks is Mr. Right in this Mr. Maybe world and what a quest it is as we all know... Anyway, all my friends have borrowed this one and loved it. So, if you like fun breazy reads you will love this one. I have read two other books by Jane Green "Bookends" and "Jemima J" and if you haven't I think you will like them too.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book! Review: I absolutely loved this book! Jane Green is a great writer. I am a married woman with 2 kids and it is so fun to read books about single woman trying to find love. It was funny witty and all around entertaining. I definately reccomend it for any 20 something woman whether you are married or not.
Rating: Summary: A share with your girlfriends fun read Review: The tale of Libby - a twenty-something professional navigating the trials and tribulations of love, life, and the strength of friendship. I found this book hard to put down. Theres a little part of Libby in all of us - what are we really looking for in Mr. Right? Mr. Perfect quickly reminds us that if it looks to good to be true it probably is! Never dismiss the underdog, he MAYBE....RIGHTI got the book from a friend and quickly passed to another! We spoke about the characters as if we knew them personally! Jane Green does a great job of putting you in the setting...even in some steamy parts! A great read that makes you feel your not alone - whether your in London or the states - the struggles of love, life and friendships are all the same!
Rating: Summary: Mr Maybe is a Yes Review: Jane Green is one of the most thoughtful writers out there today. Yes, her books are funny and can be escapist. Mr. Maybe is actually more escapist pleasure than Jemima J or Bookends, others that I've read by her. Still, it covers some interesting ground. Should you marry for practical reasons or for love? And what is the strength of love? It's not just about Libby and her two diametrically different loves. Green again uses the secondary characters to tell the story, as she did so well in Bookends. The friends with a "perfect" marriage that isn't quite, but could yet be, is particularly poignant. Even Libby's parents and brother provide glimpses of how relationships are formed and kept. But ultimately it's our gal Libby who steals the show. Of course, anyone with a bean of sense figures out who she won't end up with and who she probably will end up with. But watching her go through the whole process is fun. Things are slightly unresolved at the end, and that's OK. Libby's not that old and still needs to grow; life and marriage aren't always answered in a couple of pat answers. I definitely recommend this, or any other book by Jane Green.
