Summary: wonderful fun ....
Review: i absolutely loved this book by jane green. i think that every woman can relate, in some way, to libby mason. the plot was nothing original, but the characters were sweet and endearing. i laughed out loud at some of the things her mother said! all in all - a great summer read. even my reluctantly romantic (read: macho) fiance (who saw the naked man on the cover and wanted to know what i was reading) couldn't help but love the part where nick declared 'flowers too predictable' and bought libby a jar of nutella to make her feel better.

Summary: The fairytale comes true!
Review: Let me start off by saying, that I was absolutly amazed that I could NOT put this book down, other than to sleep. Which I fought intensely!!! This book is so well written, filled with huge outbursts of laughture, incredible sex, and an intimate connection with each character!!!

Libby Mason, a sucessful, trendy PR executive, seems to have her professional life in check. Her personal life, in definite need of evaluation. She always seems to fall for the "wrong" men, so she thinks. She not only dreams of, but is determined to marry a wealthy, sucessful man, who can provide her with the best of the best that the world has to offer. But instead, she ends up with the exact opposite, will she ever find this sucessful man of her dreams?

She's introduced to Nick at a local pub through a mutual friend. Nick, an out of work, unpublished writer, living on the dole, is definitely not Libby's "type"! No job, no money, no house, no car, why would she be interesting in him she thinks. But it's Saturday night, nothing better to do, so she politely endures the introduction to this messy haired, torn sweatered, political theorist. The conversation, starts out with the usual inquiries, then Libby starts to take notice of Nick's gorgeous blue eyes, she starts to find him delightful, funny, and intriguing, as the conversation grows more comfortable, and decides that he would be a good candidate to have a "fling" with. Just sex, no relationship to be hurt with, just fun and sex! You see, Libby has a terrible track record of falling in love too easily, and always getting hurt deeply in the end. So she swears off "boyfriends" and decides to just have a fling filled with sex and laughture with no strings attached! So she thought...until, yes you guessed right, she falls for him, "over the moon" falls for him, but Nick, breaks it off, not being ready for a relationship at this point in his life, and Libby is crushed yet again.

Her best friend Jules, to help Libby with the "recovery" process, suggests a night out at Mezzo's, a very trendy posh night spot, where Libby pulls Ed McMann, the most eligable man in London, but she has no idea who he is, as she's still pining over Nick and could really care less. The next day at the office, one of her clients goes absolutely ape when she finds out that Libby has met Mr.McMann, and explains to Libby just who this man is. The man of her dreams in every sense of the word, so realizing that's it's truly over with Nick, she gives Ed a "yes" to a first date...

Is the grass always greener on the other side, do we really know what we want in our lives when it comes to love?

For the answers to the above, and eye opening revelation...give this book a read. I can only hope that everything I read, after reading this book, I won't find pale in comparison!!!

Summary: Jane Green does it again...
Review: I have just closed my copy of Mr. Maybe. This book was totally addictive, and I wasn't able to put it down. In keeping with her favorite theme, Jane Green has written yet another novel about a superficial young career woman. I found Libby Mason's search for Mr. Right very entertaining. Being a single twenty-something, I could relate to Libby's feelings. Her dating mishaps will leave you laughing, crying, and cheering for a happy ending. The first few chapters move a little slowly, but keep reading. You'll be glad you did.

Summary: Mr. Maybe, a British love triangle
Review: Well, Libby sure is one messed up twenty-something who is looking for The One. She finds one guy and changes to love him and then changes to love another. Finally, she figures it all out.
An okay written book with an excellent story line and hilarious situations.

Summary: A pleasant surprise
Review: This is the first Jane Green book I've read, but I can't wait to get her first book after reading this one.
This was a lighthearted, HILARIOUS book about women and dating. There were a lot of times I thought "I do that same thing," so I really liked identifying with the character, Libby.
All of the characters are well developed and have their own quirks-I really reccommend this book!

Summary: fun, sexy, true to life
Review: wow!! jane green did it again. mr. maybe was so much fun. i could hardly put it down. it was sexy, humorous, true to life.

poor libby, intrigued by the glamorous lifestyle she so believed she wanted. she even managed to create just "the perfect situation", ....or was it.....? just when she thought she had want she had always wanted. just when she thought "who could ask for more, or be even more content...." so what, no lust, no butterflies in her stomach, even routine daily irritation.

....or, is there more to life than money, glamour, prestige, and more money???

this book depicts the true-dom of a "best friend" (jules) -- the ups and downs of what looks perfect and of what actually isn't..... it deals with the parent-child relationship (or parent adult-child, as it may), it deals with friendship, the gross overall picture of the "not so perfect world"...

so, do you settle for everything you thought you held near and dear? (money, mansion, expensive clothing, porsche, carte blanche expense account.......) can you live with yourself, knowing the truth? or, is being alone better!!!!

keep reading. i grinned til the last page and then i couldn't stop smiling.

thank you Ms. Green. i can't wait for "bookends".

Summary: A Nice Escape
Review: Jane Green's Mr. Maybe is again another look at the comical life of single girls looking for 'the one.' Not much different from the typical Brit Chick Lit story line, but a nice escape all the same.

Meet Libby, she is a successful Public Relations Executive that feels pressured by time to meet a man, get swept off her feet, and enter into a successful marriage. To date, her relationships have all been failures and she decides that she will look for a fling, with no strings attached!

Libby quickly meets the gorgeous Nick and the sparks fly. One glitch, although Nick meets Libby's standards in term of physical appearances, he is not what she would define as successful. Nick, who is an aspiring writer, does not have a job and relies on the dole (welfare) to support himself. Both Libby and Nick agree that they are not looking for a relationship, although they fall for one another quickly.

Mr. Maybe takes a turn when Libby meets Ed, the man of her financial, successful, and material dreams. She must determine her priorities and make a choice!

Mr. Maybe is a novel that is both fun and light. This is not a novel that is life changing or enlightening, rather the reader needs to take it for what it is, a nice escape.

Summary: Yummy
Review: Vastly entertaining first-person stream of consciousness writing. I enjoyed this book quite a lot, especially the romance aspect, and particularly the "hero" Nick, who was exceedingly representative of the vast majority of single men in the world today.

Hillarious. Witty. Touching. Ladies, you will love it, and men, you will laugh. On par with Bridget Jones, to be sure.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Couldn't put down!!!
Review: The things we will settle with just for the sake of being settled!!! Even if you have never been engaged, this book speaks to all people in their twenties and early thirty's. To read Libby's horrifying battle between bad lover, rich man and great lover, poor man is wonderful. I would highly recommend this book for a great summer read!!!
