Rating: Summary: a book to read when u feel like chilling out Review: Mr maybe is a lot of emotions that goes through the mind of a 27 something working women. It relates lot to the present day lifestyles of lot of women, who are willing to give up the good things for money. But in this book libby realises her mistake before she ties the knot. Libby's life with her friends is something admirable. A lot of similarities between all our lives with friends. It is a very easy to read book and to me it looked like the plot of a hindi film
Rating: Summary: Great book...until... Review: I found this book good, given you could see where it was going, but it was an enjoyable read. The one thing that really disappointed me was the ending. Jane Green should've pushed the ending. But it was enjoyable none the less.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat cliched but worth it. Review: I really did like this novel. I never get tired of the "loopy girl searching for true love and finding it where she least expects it" plot. Plus, this book has one of the better sex scenes I've ever read. You all know what I'm talking about. The bathtub. Perhaps I'm just prejudiced because the male character reminds me of a guy I have the hots for, but if you're looking for a nice, breezy read, with lovely sex scenes, this is the one.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book. Very entertaining! Review: I absolutely loved this book. This book kept me wanting more. I laughed so much. I definately reccomend this book to anyone. Even the married ladies out there like me.
Rating: Summary: A fun romantic comedy!! Review: Mr. Maybe is on par with Bridget Jones' Diary. If you enjoyed that book - you will LOVE this story. This book is about a young woman who works in PR. Her whole goal in life is to marry a rich man and live happily-ever-after. She meets men she loves and rich men. She tries to figure out what is more important to her. This book had me laughing out loud and crying. One of the best books I have read this year. A STRONG 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: GREAT:) Review: This was a great read. It went by quickly, as I could not put it down, and it leaves you with a great feeling. Looking for a funny, feel-good novel? Read this... or check out "Jemima J" by the same author!!! (Even greater!)
Rating: Summary: Maybe fun... Review: This was a fun if superficial read - found the characters to be interesting but hard to camouflage the fact that this is a branzen Bridget Jones knock-off. A better page turner about a young publicist is "Buzz" by Carrie Lieber - a story that's a bit more sophisticated and the story line is much fresher.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC book - definately my new favourite! Review: Mr. Maybe is by far the best book I have ever read - and considering I love brit chick lit - it's right up my alley. If you want to laugh, scream, cry, and wince with anticipation - read MR. MAYBE - trust me - you wont regret it. YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Cute and funny Review: Though the main charachter, Libby, has a tendancy to be irritating and unstable, this was a cute book, with flashes of painful honesty. Life, love, friendship, and the dating scene are portrayed with the usual Brit chick lit flair of fun and endearing problems. Despite her flaws, one finds one's self rooting for Libby in her harrowing experience with love and the commitment-phobic but beautiful guy vs the RING with the snobbish and bedroom-defunct rich guy. The ending is a tad too tidy, but it is enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: Predictable and unoriginal Review: A friend bought this book for me, and am I glad I didn't spend my own money on it. Two words describe this book, "predictable" and "unoriginal". Between reading the jacket and the first two chapters I knew what would happen and unfortunately it wasn't even fun getting there. Furthermore, between the main character's materialistic attitude and the fact that the book is highly unoriginal I would recommend you pass. If British chic novels inspired by Bridget Jones are your thing, try elsewhere.
