Rating: Summary: This is the 1st coulter book I have read! Review: This was an incredible book, I reallyloved it! I can't wait to read the reast of the series. The Hellion Bride, The Heiress Bride and the Scottish Bride.
Rating: Summary: Coulter's Best Book - which isn't saying much Review: This was by far the best Catherine Coulter book I have read to date. Thankfully, there were no rape sequences which I had begun to think was a Coulter staple. Alexandra was a delight to read. She deserved the title of heroine for simply dealing with all the idiots in her life, her husband included at first in my opinion. She was strong without coming across as a pain. She was funny, intelligent, and courageous. What annoyed me throughout the book though was the incredible superficiality of so many of the characters. If one more person gushed over Melissande I was going to vomit. There is no human alive who could possibly be so attractive and shallow at the same time. I'm glad Tony brought her around but people's reaction to her irritated me, mostly Douglas'. And I hated how disparaging everyone was to Alex and some of the comments made to her - especially by Douglas - were horrid. They made her sound like a dishrag which she did not appear to be. All in all, a pretty decent read. Even though I think Alex should have made Douglas suffer a little for his earlier treatment of her. Coulter's best as well as the best of the Brides series, in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Coulter's best book Review: This was one of the first romance novels I ever read, was the first Catherine Coulter I read, and I still consider it her BEST!!! This is an EXCELLENT book!! I just had to add my recommendation to anyone wanting a fun read that had me, at times, laughing out loud. (By the way, it is the only one I liked of the bride series; I despise the marital rape in Hellion Bride, and Sinjin was disappointingly weak in Heiress Bride.)
Rating: Summary: This book made me a Coulter-addict Review: This was the first book written by Catherine Coulter that I read. I continued to read the rest of the series and have since been hooked with Catherine Coulter as one of my favorite Romance authors. I felt the heroines pain at the fact that she had loved the hero all her life, and by some twist of fate was arranged to marry him. Both characters grow beautifully in the story, and endear themselves to you for life.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites! Review: This was the first Catherine coulter book I ever read and I completly fell in love with it. This is the first book in the bride trilogy, and it is my favorite. Douglus and Alex are two headstrong and very entertaining characters. Alex has loved Douglas since she was 15, however Douglas is infatuated with her older sister and entends to marry her. Douglas, having to complete one more secret mission, sends his cousin to marry Alex's sister by proxy to him.Through a twist of fate, Douglas finds himself married to Alex, and is furrious because she is not the bride he wanted. I think coulter is a terrific writer, and I have yet to be dissapointed with any book of hers that I have read (and I have quite a collection of her books!). If you buy this book and enjoy it, you must continue reading the whole trigoly, because the other member of Douglas's family are just as entertaining. (Espically his little Sister Sinjin .)

Rating: Summary: SPLENDID Review: When I read a romance book, I love to read a strong-willed heroine and I thought Alex wasn't one of them. But the twisted character of her was enjoyable even-though I want to see Alex delayed her acceptance of his offered and feeling to Douglas...since he's not suffer enough after he ill-treatments on her, but she handled him quite adequately. CC if you read this...PLEASE MAKES ANOTHER STORY ABOUT ALEX & DOUGLAS, and their connection with the ghost...and make sure this time Douglas won't drop his jaw when he sees Mellisande (Alex's sis) or he will pay the consequences!! If you CC's fans, you HAVE TO READ this one!! One of her BEST!!
Rating: Summary: The first and best book of the "Bride" Series Review: While "The Sherbrooke Bride" may not be a classic work of literature, I found it to be filled with rich characters and engaging right until the last page - it was one of those stories you don't want to end. Alexandra Chambers, a woman of quick senses and determination, has always been overshadowed by her older, and stunningly beautiful sister Melissande. But when Douglas Sherbrooke, the man whom Alex has loved since childhood, needed to marry, instead of ending up with Melissande as planned, he finds himself wed to the wrong sister. Alex and Douglas go through pitfalls, fights, and nearly lose one another before they finally find the true love that is meant to last a lifetime. This was the first Catherine Coulter book I ever read and I was pleasantly surprised to find a mixture of humor, adventure, and romance. Alex came off as such a stong person, never losing faith and always trying to be brave even as she wants to break down. She wasn't your typical weak female waiting to be rescued like so many other superficial romances portrayed. And even though Douglas is often stubborn and cruel, it makes his eventual realizations of love for his wife that much sweeter. I've read several Catherine Coulter books and my respect for her just keeps growing. I highly recommend reading the "Bride Series" (including the recent addition of the "Scottish Bride") -each follows the adventures of the Sherbrooke clan and their wives with updates of past characters (including Alex and Douglas). All four books are enjoyable page-turners with believeable, three-dimensional characters and lively plots, although the first is still the best in my eyes.
