Rating: Summary: Love it, Wicked Fun Review: I don't understand what's up with the bad reviews. I enjoy this book so much. It does have a lot of sex scenes but that was half the fun of it. I will recomend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Love it, Wicked Fun! Review: I really don't get what is up with the bad reviews. This is a great fun book. Yes it has a lot of sex but that was half the fun of it! I really enjoy the run around, the tension and the teasing. I haven't read the other books of the series but I will after this one. I completly recomend it!
Rating: Summary: What's missing? Everything but the love scenes! Review: As a newcomer to the Cynster series I went into this book expecting nothing more than an interesting read. What I found was a book so slow to evolve that I used it as insomnia preventive. Stephanie Laurens has definitely perfected the art of seductive love scenes, but leaves you wanting more than just a physical connection between the two main characters, Amelia and Lucien. I found myself asking, "What's the point?" throughout the book.
The plot lays out at the onset of the book with Amelia propositioning Lucien with marriage in order to save his family from dire straits. Of course, she has an ulterior motive and seeks to acquire him as a love match. What follows are intimate liaisons at various engagements and locations. I actually skipped through the majority of the love scenes trying to find something more fulfilling within the plot. Unfortunately, I think time would have been better spent creating chemistry among the characters, rather than the physical pleasure both seemed to revel in with one another. You would never guess that the two of them have been family friends since Amelia was in nappies. Where's the emotional connection?
So, in order not to waste a minute more on this book I'll leave you with this... If you are only looking for sensual love scenes, then this is the book for you. If you want something more connective then you would be better off saving your money and checking out another book.
Happy reading!
Rating: Summary: This novel just dragged Review: I knew that this book would be very similar to Amanda's story, but having read most of the Cynster novels, I couldn't resist reading about how Amelia's story goes. Well, I certainly agree with the other reviews that this book is too long and should have been at least 150 pages shorter. The author spent too much time describing the love scenes that they just became boring and I ended up flicking past those pages. And what's with Luc in this story? He was much more interesting to read about in On A Wild Night than on this. There really wasn't much to hold this story after the wedding.
I have to say that the most notable part in this book is the scene on their wedding day, after the newlyweds left. I was ecstatic when Devil finally says I love you to Honoria. Finally, after almost seven years! I would have been happy if the book ended right there and then. If I ever picked up this book again, it would only be to read that part once more.
I think two and a half star is pretty generous, but that's only because of Devil and Honoria's appearance.
Rating: Summary: eh--I wouldn't read it again Review: Talk about long winded! You'd think a 16 page sex scene would be exciting...nope. Halfway through when they're still on page 7 of kissing, the reader is saying, "Just get on with it already!" I never thought I would see the day when that happened. Okay plot and characters. But I really hope her editor tells her not to drag it out so long next time.
Rating: Summary: By far the worst of the Bar Cynster series. Review: I just want to said that i enjoyed the whole series of the bar cynister series. I can't wait to read simon story. I hope the series continues.
