Rating: Summary: Very Well Done Romance Review: What can I say? I loved this story. I liked the fact that the hero and heroine get to know each other before becoming intimate. They actually like each other, they have fun in each others company and are attracted to each other. And the hero? I wish there were more people like Zachary. He is everything you could want in a man. A ruthless, gentle, funny, protective, kind, generous, conscientous alpha male. I think he is just about the most well done hero I have read about in a long time. This was just an overall great story. I got to check out more stuff by this author.
Rating: Summary: Jolly Good Job Review: Well, I read this book on Vacation, and it was not the book I expected. It was a good book, all in all, and very different from the books I traditionally read, but I found it a bit tiresome about how she was always blathering on about George 'Oh what would George think?' But it was also very touhing in the same sense. In case you haven't read this book, there's alot of sex, just to warn you, and you have to deicde whether or not you're mature enough. This book was a very touching, warm story, and I enjoyed it alot. There were alot of romance parts, and funny parts, and Zachary Bronson was pretty cool.
Rating: Summary: The ultimate romance.... Review: THE ultimate romance I've read so far. The author does not stop upon uniting the protagonists in love, and claiming happily ever after, but carries on a bit futher, leaving you no doubt that they will never take each other for granted. In my opinion, it's the ultimate romance, right up there with Judith Macnaught's classic 'Whitney, My Love'.
Rating: Summary: Delicious Read Review: It is truly wonderful when an author can make you feel and sense such emotions when you read. I love her non perfect characters.
Rating: Summary: Go to a place where dreams begin........and never end Review: When I picked up Where Dreams Begin, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I definitely wasn't expecting anything like I got. I think everyone who's read this book knows exactly what I mean. Zachary isn't your everyday hero, quite the opposite in fact. He's driven by this invisible force, this need to be the best, to have the best, which I couldn't understand. A force even he couldn't understand, but he'd felt it all his life. Zachary is a "social climber" who forces his way into society, whether the aristocracy liked it or not. The author did such a good job of developing his character, I had a hard time believing he wasn't real. Holly isn't your ordinary heroine either. She's a woman who's hanging on to her deceased husband's memory just so she won't get hurt again. Through most of the book she tries to deny her growing attraction to Zachary, but the heart won't listen to musings of the mind. She's a true lady through and through. From the outside looking in these two seem an ill matched pair, but their hearts, their souls think differently. You'll fall in love with little Rose, Holly's daughter. She loves carrying around her cute button string and asks innocent questions that embarrasses her mother. I couldn't blame Zach for becoming attached to her so quickly, who wouldn't be? This book is full of lively, amusing characters that you'll definitely fall in love with and takes you to a place where dreams begin.
Rating: Summary: My kind of romance Review: Not much to add to all of the other reviews, except if Dreaming of You is your favorite Kleypas, you will really enjoy this one.
Rating: Summary: Great Story! Review: This is the first book by Lisa Kleypas that I have read and I was not disapointed. Zachary and Holly were very likable characters and you find yourself rooting for them from the beginning. I thought it was very different and refreshing that Holly was still grieving for her first husband. Usually stories with a widowed heroine portray the first husband as a wife beater or someone who was cold and was unfaithful. Where Dreams Begin portrays Holly's first husband as a nice person who cared for and cherished his wife. It made it believable that she had reservations about finding someone else. I also liked how Holly is strong, stubborn and has a mind of her own without being childish, contrary and petulant. Zachary is exactly the sort of hero that I love reading about. He is a well developed character. Very ambitious, driven, ruthless, strong and opinionated but kind, loving and gentle at the same time. A perfect match for the heroine. The romance is well paced and does revolve around sex. They fall in love after getting to know each other and liking each other as human beings instead of the cliched romances that seem to jump into love after nothing but physical desire and sex. All in all, a very engaging, touching story.
Rating: Summary: Likable characters but not much story Review: This is the first book I've read by this author. The characters were likable and the dialogue very good at times, but I kept waiting for something to happen. A twist, a surprise? There were none, just a predictable romance. Not much originality at all. If you've ever read a romance, you know Lady Holland will take the job, therefore putting her under the hero's roof. How many times have you read that? Just like the heroine's little girl is immediately adored by hero, who is obviously going to be the perfect father for her. The scandal, which I thought would be a big part of the story, never truly happens. You have a string of incidents and not much conflict. This book is like drinking a glass of warm milk. Good if you need something to make you sleepy. However if you're looking for a really cool Hurricane, keep searching.
Rating: Summary: Get swept away to Victorian England! Review: Ms. Kleypas' latest book, WHERE DREAMS BEGIN, is a super read. This story of a love that grows between a beautiful widow and an ambitious commoner is set in Victorian London. Zachary Bronson shares a kiss in the dark with the lady he believes to be his paramour, but finds that he has kissed the beautiful Lady Holland Taylor instead. Intrigued by his brief meeting in the night with the proper young widow, wealthy Zachary offers her a position as instructor of etiquette and proper behavior to he and his family. It seems the perfect way to acquire the polish he needs to become a gentleman and to satisfy his baser need to lure Holly into his bed. Holly knows the risk to her reputation by accepting Zachary's offer and moving into his mansion. But the money he offers would ensure a secure future for her small daughter and eliminate her dependence on her late husband's family for her means. And there was something about that kiss... The romance that blooms between Zachary and Holly is both tender and erotic. Zachary is ruthlessly blunt, irresistible. A perfect foil for the generous, virtually innocent Holly. The sexual tension between them is subtle at first but then comes on strong like a good drink. As far as sensuality goes, this book is a little tamer than Ms. Kleypas' previous books, but appropriately so for this particular story. Unlike many romances set in this time period, detail to the countless rules of etiquette and conduct are cleverly woven into the story instead of killing the pace. The secondary characters are strong but unobtrusive. Holly's small daughter Rose is particularly charming. Ms. Kleypas has penned yet another dreamy tale where the readers dreams won't end until about two in the morning on a work night.
Rating: Summary: Who wants a gentleman anyway??? Review: Lady Holland Taylor couldn't have found a man more different from her late husband, George. Zachary Bronson is definitely not a gentleman. Especially, by the ton's standards. Oh, far from it. And when Lady Holly finds herself wanting change, after three years mourning for her late husband, she decided to take Mr. Bronson's offer to turn him into a gentleman. (Of course, this is after that delicious episode in the balcony at the Bellemont ball...) However, Zachary Bronson is a common man, who rose out of the squalor and poverty using his sheer brute strength (and intelligence). And now, he is one of London's most affluent businessmen... and a bit feared, as well. He has just about everything but the respect that comes with blue-blood aristocracy. As Lady Holly tries to teach him manners acceptable with the London elite, this hardened man tries to win the beautiful widow's heart. No doubt, sparks fly from both directions and the reader will surely looser their heart...like this reviewer has. Zachary Bronson does clean up rather well. In the processes of getting a good lesson on peerage titles and other appropriate manners for the aristocracy, I ended up enjoying this book thoroughly. Little Rose was utterly charming and her button string is too cute!! Elizabeth and Jason's secondary love story was brief but delightful. And Vardon, Lord Blake of Ravenhill is the next hero in the making! I've never felt such strong sexual chemistry between two characters and it was so rewarding when they finally gave into each other. I loved reading this book and I highly recommend it to any romance reader looking for an absorbing story. Seriously, it has a great ending. And needless to say, Zachary Bronson is a hero worth reading about.
