Summary: Just Right!
Review: Based on the title of the book and Zane's reputation, I was not sure what to expect this being the first novel of hers that I have read. The book was excellent; I finished it in ONE day! It was a great story of a woman who was madly in love with her husband, her three children and her fabulous career, but she happened to be addicted to sex. You feel Zoe's pleasure and pain every step of the way and Zane does a beautiful job of painting her as a woman with a problem rather than a whore. You sympathize with her, her family and friends and just when you think that nothing else can possibly go wrong, it does. You won't be able to help yourself from talking back to the wonderfully developed characters throughout the entire novel; their struggles and successes were real and palpable. I plan on passing this book along to my mother, aunts, and girlfriends! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Summary: Black Men LOVE addicted too!
Review: I am a Black man from Maryland and got into Zane from my lady friends at work. They were reading it for a book club. So I checked it out and found this book was HOT! It had twists and turns and of course it had Zane's erotic writing. ....
Anyhoo, it is a riveting book that you won't want to put down . I also read Sex Chronicles and that is really off the hook.
This was my first introduction to African American Erotica and I found that a huge plus. I enjoy reading about people who look like me and talk like me. Familiar slang, song references, etc all add to the enjoyment of this book.

Summary: Unrealistic, but interesting
Review: I believe this authur is going places, but has a long way to go. I wanted to put the book down after reading the first 100 pages. I wondered where the author was going. It was little too drawn out for my taste. My sister advised me to keep reading, it would get better, and it did, to a certain extent.

Parts of the book were unrealistic. What are the chances of having four individuals attempting to murder you within a short period of time? Slim to none. A little research would have provided the author with acurate information regarding therapy. A professional therapist never develops a friendship with client and can't divulge information regarding the patient's therapy sessions without the permission of the patient.

On a personal note, I cringed at the way the author created parts of the main charcter. Did she have to be so "ghetto"? The charcter's thought process appeared to be very juvenille. Is it really possible to be a successful business person with this type of thinking? Perhaps she should have been in the "rap" industry. That would have been a little more believable.

Zane definately has a talent for writing. With time, I believe she'll be an excellent author. Her writng style has a uniqueness of it's own. This particular book was a breeze to read. Many of my bookclub members read the book within a few days. I hope her next book gets better. With a little more research I beleive she's going places. I also hope she develops a more positive African American female character.

Summary: Too much of a good thing
Review: This guy in the parking lot talked me half to death when he found out I was reading a book by Zane, the library has a horrible time trying to keep Zane's book in stock because they always disappear, and word of mouth is like a beauty salon. So curiosity sent me to the bookstore to buy her book. I thought the opening was magnetic, the main plot was funny (a lady who believes she's a nymphomaniac and goes to a doctor to be cured) and entertaining, and I liked the character. But the lesbian story seemed more like an afterthought (unnecessary), the story should've ended at the hypnotizing because that was creative and explained the underlying secret, and Jason's secret was wack. I also thought the word p*ssy was used too much for my taste, especially for a young girl.
