Summary: Addicted to.......what? Sex, murder, the wrong people?
Review: I think the storyline was intersesting but the story itself didn't follow was she was asking us to believe. I don't want to be over critical but her timeline was very confusing. It's important to me that if a writer doesn't state what year they're writing it that I can see it through their writing however this wasn't evident in addicted so it seems to always be a question. It also seemed like she was grasping for text near the end and thereby created a series of murders which changed the entire concept of the book.

Summary: COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN
Review: I found myself reading this book inside elevators, at traffic lights, everywhere. Great interesting read!

Summary: Just one look, and I was hooked!
Review: I got my first look at work by Zane from her website, eroticnoir. From just reading an excerpt of one of her novels I knew she was the kind of writer I was looking for. I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to reading material.

I was not at all disappointed when I was finally able to get a copy and read her hot novel, Addicted. The writing was raw, ingenious, original and entertaining. Addicted is one of those books that most readers will read and complete in one sitting.

Zane has me hooked as a fan for life, and I'm now reading her latest novel, Shame on it all, and guess what? She still has it!:O)

Pick up Addicted today! 5 stars for a book you won't soon forget!

Summary: My Favorite Book This Year
Review: I simply LOVED this book! It held me captured from the very first page to the last. I could relate to Zoe on a deep level and I guess that is why I was so touched by Zane's writing. Zoe is a very complex character who is humurous, thought-provoking, and enlightening. I think that a lot of women are probably suffering from similar emotional problems but refuse to admit it and/or seek help.

I am headed to the closest bookstore to pick up Zane's other books because she has truly earned a lifelong fan in me. I agree with all the readers that gave this book 5 stars because it is definitely the read of the year.

Summary: Finally .... black erotica for everyone...
Review: and why is that .... because Zane can take a seat along with any of the best erotic authors around with this masterfully written book.

Although it must be a great temptation for the author to fall back on preconceptions and stereotypical behaviour, she avoids this trap and delivers a crisp and clear image of a young Zoe coming of age and being seduced by those oh so delicious sins of the flesh.

In the first part of the book, the reader can feel the anxieties and briefly live the complexities of Zoe as a very young girl trying to understand changes in her body and mind as she begins to experience her sexual awakening. The loss of her innocence, unplanned pregnancy and ultimate marriage to Jason is real life in action today.

From this detailed walk down memory lane we are transported to the present day as Zoe finds herself in her 'yuppie' or should we say 'buppie' world of house, kid, mortgage, great husband BUT unfulfilled sexual twitches. The pursuit and capture of Zoe by Quentin is absolutely delicious, and again written with the skill of a master. You could almost feel like you were there as Zoe, because of her work, finds herself alome with her new lover and behaves like a doe caught in the headlights.

The level of erotica in 'Addicted' would be considered as relatively tame using the Victorian or Edwardion erotica standards so I can't really say that the book is a sizzler by any stretch of the imagination, but, that notwithstanding this is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Well done sista ... one bitchin book ... ooops did I really say that ....

Summary: Not For The Savvy Reader!
Review: If you enjoy a thoughtful read -- Addicted is not for you. It is a juvenile attempt at discussing meaningful concepts. I found the book very shallow and somewhat interesting.

Summary: THIS BOOK WAS SO BAD IT WAS GOOD
Review: I read this book in one sitting. Not because I thought it was the "literary" masterpiece some of the other reviewers called it but because it was absolutely RIDICULOUS! I couldn't put it down because when I was not laughing I was shaking my head. The editing (was there any?) was terrible. The story was not believable. I found it hard to accept that a woman like Zoe, an alledged intelligent business woman, could be hopping in and out of bed with met she hardly knew and NOT ONCE MENTION SAFE SEX! What intelligent woman in her right mind would do all that? Would she really do all that without using a condom?! The encounter with Diamond was mentioned as an afterthought with very little details. I will not read any more books by this author until she learns to write like a professional!

Summary: How Come Everyone Loves This Book So Much?????
Review: This is the first novel I've read by Zane. I chose it because I've heard nothing but positive feedback from so many other readers. I must say that I was very disappointed. It starts out pretty good and even midway through, it maintains my level of interest. However towards the latter part of the book, it takes a turn for the worse and becomes incredibly unrealistic. Especially the part about Zoe seeing a psychiatrist on a regular basis, and the psychiatrist divulging information of her sessions with Zoe to Zoe's husband. Whatever happened to Doctor-Patient Confidentiality. Towards the end of the book, it strives to become a murder mystery novel. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! As I mentioned this book was a definite dissapointing read for me. Before the ending you'll lose total interest in the characters and the storyline. When I first picked this up, I was anxious in reading other works by Zane. Now I probably won't even waste my time.

Summary: Don't Call Her A Freak
Review: First, Zane let me say to you: Take a bow, give yourself a pat on the back, some claps and a snap, girlfriend. I received that book in the mail yesterday, and three hours later, I was finished with a smile on my face. You truly are an asset to the writing society and RAWSISTAZ. I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed this book but I'll let you read my review and you will get the main gist of it.

From the very first sentence of this beautifully written masterpiece, where the "dark clouds held the sun prisoner", the reader will get the sense that Zoe Reynard feels imprisoned, and she, in fact is. With all the addictions in the world today, such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc., Zane dares to explore the controversial territory of sex addiction, and does so in a way the reader will never forget. Zoe Reynard should be happy. She has a successful business, children that bring joy to her life, and a loving and faithful husband. Those 3 things should satisfy the average woman, or so we think. But instead Zoe has 3 other distractions that keep her from realizing this. One being Quinton, the second being Tyson, and the third being Diamond. What is it with this woman?? Webster's Dictionary defines a freak is "someone abnormal, odd, and unusual". A woman who isn't satisfied with sex from her husband, and goes out having affairs is pretty normal in this society, so freak doesn't quite fit Zoe. But I think I hit the nail on the head when I read Webster describing a sick person as "a person affected with a physical or mental disorder. That's why I love the title that Zane so carefully thought of for this book. Because of the title, the reader will sympathize with Zoe right from the start and will want to hear her story. Zoe is, a woman, like many others, who is unable to communicate with her husband. She ultimately suffers for it both mentally and physically. We hear experts say time and time again that communication is the key to a good marriage. Well, in saying this I would like to think of Zoe and her husband as two locked treasure chests. But I soon wondered to myself, where are the keys?? Maybe Dr. Spencer had them, the woman who Zoe first confessed everything to. Maybe it was Zoe's mother who had background information about Zoe's past that directly attributed to her present situation. No not any of these. I ultimately came to the conclusion that Jason had the keys all along and just didn't know how to use them. Zoe had his too and didn't realize she could unlock his treasure chest. This book was, in essence, a marriage seminar. While the words being blunt and explicit at times, the message would not come across as clear without them. A marriage is a treasure chest with two keyholes and just one key won't open it. They both have to be there to open it and get the value out of it. Zoe and Jason had to both come to together, admit what was holding them back, and want to work it out. Then and only then would their marriage be all that they hoped it would. Zoe's story was a necessary one and Zane should be applauded for telling it.
