Rating: Summary: It's not who you know but who you... Review: I just finished reading Addicted at work earlier and I'm glad I read this. I never read a black erotica book and I was hooked on the sex scenes even though it wasn't right. What an interesting storyline but it gets a point off for the confusing timelines and there seems to be a few fillers thrown in towards the end. And what happened to the safe sex, at least mention it. The stalker threw me off because you suspect that it's one or two different people that's trying to kill Zoe. This is the type of book that makes you think twice the next time you decide to bed someone, married or not. One of Zoe's affairs isn't explored that much and seems to be thrown in at the last minute. Zoe and Jason's kids weren't explored that much either not that they should have been in the midst of Zoe's problems. Jason has problems of his own as well. I'm glad that author Zane didn't ignore the fact that there are lots of people who are addicted to sex the way Zoe was. A breath of fresh air for me instead of those 'trying to find a good man/woman' type of books.
Rating: Summary: You've just gotta read it Review: This book was TOO HOT to handle and also a suspense thriller at times.. Once I finally got past the very slow start of the early childhood scenes, I couldn't put it down. However, being the critic I am, I do have to point out why I couldn't give this winner five stars. First of all, like several others have already pointed out, some of the terminology Zane used in her early chapters did not reference the seventies and early eighties accurately. Writers (and film producers as well) need to be a bit more careful when doing their flashbacks to go ALL THE WAY back, lingo and all. Also, the ending was way too overdramatic. I just couldn't picture the scene at the cabin happening in real life. It reminded me of an ending scene from "I Know What You Did Last Summer" or "Scream". Definitely, unrealistic, but entertaining, nonetheless. The fact that STD's were never a factor was also very untypical of today's world. The sex scenes were definitely the best I've ever read. I hope that I can give this author's next effort the full 5 stars it'll probably deserve.
Rating: Summary: Red Lights Please.... Review: I know this will sound crazy but...This book was so ADDICTING that I prayed for RED TRAFFIC LIGHTS while driving to work, yes, you read correctly. Once I got to work, I sat in the parking lot for ten minutes to finish the book. AWESOME ADDICTION!!
Rating: Summary: She knows how to get you hooked Review: I must say that after reading this book, I am feenin' for some more Zane. I've got Shame on it All in the mail to me and the Sex Chronicles is on my wishlist. Zoe and Jason seem to have the perfect marriage. They have success in their careers and children, but something is missing. Zoe looks outside her relationship with her husband to satisfy her insatiable desires. Find out what happens when Zoe's parallel worlds collide. An entrancing read that will have you sneaking peaks at any given moments - on the train - at work - in your car. You just wont be sated till the story has been told. I commend Zane on her stunning novel. Candace
Rating: Summary: BEWARE! Review: ADDICTED was by far the best of the three books by Zane that I have read. I loved the story and the characters. I enjoyed the flashbacks to how the relationship began and my heart went out to Zoe and Jason when at last they finally told of the turmoil in their past that made them the people that they were. Zoe's addiction led to involvement with someone who turned into a fatal atraction, and Jason's secrets were keeping him from being the only "lover" that Zoe really wanted. This book was exceptional! I didn't expect to feel sorry for a woman caught cheating on her husband, but that is exactly what happened. There was enough sex and romance and suspense to keep this reader turning pages late into the night. This is not one easy to put down. Even a few surprise twists along the way. YOU WILL HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! ENJOY! Also recommend SHAME ONIT ALL by Zane and AND ON THE EIGHTH DAY SHE RESTED by J.D. Mason and CAUGHT IN A TRAP by Andree Michelle
Rating: Summary: I became "Addicted" Review: I read this book in 4 days..I found myself rushing home from work each day to read this book. This book reminded me so much of someone I once knew. I was simply curious to see if the story would end the same. Before long I forgot all about the person I once knew. I became "Addicted" to the characters in the book. It was amazing how much the characters actually loved one another. Once I finished the book, I found myself wanting to know how they would really turn out years later. Zane keep up the great work. This book is a winner!!!!
Rating: Summary: Not As Good As Everyone Says Review: This book was just okay. The beginning was extremely slow and it starts to move a little bit faster after Chapter 11. I couldn't really get into this book and wouldn't recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Unrealistic Review: First of all, the reason why I'm giving this book 3 stars is because it was very interesting. However, the book was so unrealistic! (...) I'm sorry but as interesting as the storyline is, I just kept thinking I was watching a bad soap opera.
Rating: Summary: Addicted By Zane Review: Man of man I read this book in 3 days. I couldn't put it down. The ending was totally unexpected and the hospital seen was so....damn speechless. I would recommend everyone to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Good book, but somewhat misleading Review: Yes, this book was a page-turner, but it was somewhat unrealistic. Mainly that there was no discussion of possible STD or AIDs testing after she realized she was an addict. For that reason alone, I could not conceive of giving any more than 3 stars. I think authors should write responsibly. I could identify with the main character, but, the author should have stressed or at least mentioned annual exams, pap smears, stds, etc. This omission marred what was otherwise a stellar book.
