Rating: Summary: Excellent Read Review: Oh my goodness!!! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to read the next page. I am glad of the outcome of the book, because if it had been any of us ladies, hubby would have left us standing there with a silly look on our faces. :o) A must read, for adults only!!
Rating: Summary: A can't put down! Review: This book started off a little slow but a few chapters later, I could not put it down! I read it at work and on my breaks. It took about two days. Very interesting and detailed! I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good twist. Not at all predictable......you never know the end until you read it.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: I thought this book was pretty good. There was a lot of time covered in such a small book. I think Zane could have expounded on some things and made the book longer. I don't think this book was trash, but it was explicit. It painted a very vivid picture (wouldn't recommend it for teenagers). I read "Shame On It All" which was good and I look forward to reading "The Sex Chronicles" series and "Heatseekers."
Rating: Summary: Very Disappointed... Review: I went to the local bookstore and purchased this book recently. I had just got done reading a great book by Terry McMillan and wanted another one to read. I was so disappointed with this book. I thought the writing was bad and the book never really had any high points, just lows. I wouldn't recomend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Trash-Trash-Trash Review: ...I absolutely hate this book and think it is a disgrace to previous literary icons, like Zora Neale Hurston, Maya Angelou, June Jordan, Terry McMillan, Eric Jerome Dickey, ect.ect.ect. This book is a disgrace, to say the least. The writing is so amature and unprofesional I can't believe this actually made it to print. I'm mad at the editor, the publisher, The author, everyone involved in the making of this book...
Rating: Summary: It was just O.K.... Review: I was disappointed that this book was just ok, after reading such good reviews. I didn't think that she developed the characters as good as I would have liked. Some of the plot twists at the end made it interesting, but not very believable. There were quite a few violent scenes as well that I didn't think were necessary. I would give this book to someone if they wanted to read it, but I wouldn't recommend buying this book. Save your money for other good books out there...
Rating: Summary: Could have been better... Review: Too much story, so short a time. Point taken, but not properly laid out. Home girl was not addictedm, just was sexually frustrated and needed to explore what we all like to do...explore our sexuallity. Not worth writing about. The catch was in the end of the story...that was the real kicker. One thing I was glad about, there werent a lot of characters to catch up with.
Rating: Summary: Quick read--totally enjoyable! Review: My husband read this book first on a recent trip...he couldn't not put it down! He begged me to start it and then I could not put it down! He wanted me to finished it so much that he drove home from the airport(and let me have on the reading light) so I could read. We loved it! It showed us a lot about human nature and relationships! We really want to make sure we communicate like Zoe and Jason at the END of the book instead of at the beginning!
Rating: Summary: If you're a realist, skip this book! Review: I read this book at the suggestion of a friend, who said it was excellent. I will not be taking any reading suggestions from this particular person again. I realize that "fiction" is just that, but I still would like to believe that what I'm reading could really happen. This book went from dull, to soap-opera melodrama, to downright ridiculous.First of all, Zoe was just an unlikable character and I really didn't care what happened to her. From childhood to adulthood, she talked, acted, and thought the same way. Jason presented as a one-dimensional punk, and their relationship, although greatly elaborated on, seemed superficial. They had children, but they must not have been very important to Zoe because they're barely mentioned. The dialogue was stilted and unreal. I tried reading a few of the conversations aloud, and it sounded so ridiculous I had to laugh. As for the plot...I will well exceed my 1000 word limit if I say everything that was wrong with it. But to make it short, it was insane. A sexual addiction is just that. Zoe was clearly in control of who she slept with and when. A lot of women have extramarital affairs; that doesn't make them sex addicts. She supposedly loved Jason SO much, yet we are supposed to believe she couldn't talk to them about their sexual problems. The therapist was ridiculous also; she appeared to have the expertise of a chicken. Zoe may as well been talking to a girlfriend. Speaking of girlfriends, I have to say it was almost a relief when whiny, annoying Brina disappeared from the plot. But what a way to go! All the mayhem and murder in this book completely threw off the erotica that Zane was trying to accomplish. Speaking of erotica, the so-called erotic scenes were cheesy (no pun intended) and raunchy, not erotic at all. And then we're supposed to believe that Zoe is the victim of a mass murderer/stalker/psycho who collects dead bodies. Get real! Zane throws in every possible scenario, then tries to tie all the lose ends in the last couple pages with a dramatic hypnosis and revelation. I had to laugh at the whole hypnosis process. "You're getting Slleeeeepppppy...." and then suddenly all the answers to every problem is revealed. How quick and easy. I think Zoe would have been a more likeable character had I known all along why she behaved the way she did, instead of finding out only after she annoyed me throughout the whole book.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. MY FRIENDS KEPT TALKING ABOUT IT AND I JUST HAD TO SEE WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT. I LOVED IT.
