Summary: Refreshing, Made me Smile!
Review: A very fun and fast read. The book was adorable, beautiful characters and very humerious. Lisa works her self to the bone trying to provide for herself and her mother who is dying of cancer. She is always getting herself in messes and is a crack up. She works two jobs, one in a museum at night cleaning offices. She discovers some old artifacts and being curious as a cat she snoops. She picks up a flask and is immediately transported back in time. Circenn the hunk of the book, has cast a spell or curse on the flask to whoever touches it will be immediately sent to him. I don't want to go into any more details, but if you like paranormal, time travelling books you'll love this one. I fell in love with both of the characters. Lisa was so real, constantly getting herself into trouble, Ms. Moning wrote this character so well I could picture every move she made. Circenn was a dream, a bit unbeleavable, but so what, we can dream can't we? He was wonderful! There is even a life lesson to the book which you find out at the end. It was a great fun story. A little silly but hey, thats what these time travel books are all about. This was a great escape from the everyday romances.

Summary: Another Great Story
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. I think the love story between Circenn and Lisa is great. Circenn is a man that feels cursed and because of this, he's afraid to love anything. Enter Lisa who turns his whole world upside down.

Lisa is from the 21st century and has a dying mother she must take care of. So she is working two jobs, one of which is at a museum. While working there, she falls asleep in her boss's office only to awaken when she hears him coming in in the morning. So, she does the only thing she can, she hides under his desk! When he and his visitor step out for a moment, she gets up to take a peek at the box they were looking in. When her curiousity gets the better of her and she touchs a flask that Circenn has cursed, she finds herself whisked back in time and standing in front of a tub with a naked, dripping went Circenn standing in front of her. What better way to start a love story?

I think Karen Marie Moning is a great talent and I can't wait to read more of her books.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: I was getting bored with the romance genre until I ordered this book. I was riveted from page one. I'm not going to go into plot because so many reviewers did a splendid job of that. All I can say is that Ms. Moning created a delicious brew of time travel and fantasy, faeries and wonderous Scottish lure. In between all of that were two phenomenal leading characters with sparks and sexual tension that left me sighing...and turning page after page until the wee hours. I can almost believe in faeries!

Summary: The Highlander's Touch SIZZLES!!!
Review: Totally awesome read! Romantic, magical, steamy, sexy time-travel. Ms. Moning handled the time-travel paradoxes beautifully. No need to check your logic at the door! Could Circenn have been alive in the 21st century? Of course, but once Lisa went back in time and met him in the past, his future was altered. This is one of the paradoxes inherent in many good time-travels. One of the things I love about Karen Marie Moning's work is that not only does she tell a great story--she makes you think. If your looking for a mystical magical romance with a heroine you can totally empathize with and a hero to die for, this is the one for you!!! I've read all her books and this is my favorite. Can't wait til September for her next book!

Summary: Very Good, But Check Your Sense of Logic at the Door....
Review: This was the first Karen Marie Moning book I have read.

I was touched and intrigued and quite entertained by this book. I also enjoyed some of the supernatural twists the author threw in. I would have given it 5 stars, but the whole premise of the book is a contradiction.

Lisa works as a cleaning lady in a museum when her curiosity gets the best of her. She touches a flask, not knowing that it is cursed. The curse brings her back in time to face Circenn, the flask's immortal guardian. Here is where the problem lies.

In this book, Lisa gets thrown back to the year 1314, but Circenn is IMMORTAL. So if he didn't die in the 1300's, he should still be alive in the 21st century (when Lisa was working as a cleaning lady in a museum). So now is there a 14th century Circenn and a 21st century Circenn? Do they bump in to each other when they jump through time? What would happen if they did?

And if Circenn and Adam can go back through time to change the future for Lisa's parents, could they not do the same for Circenn's mom, who is not immortal? Or at least go back in time to when she was still alive and visit her?

Being immortal AND a fairy with magical powers should have its advantages, no? Unfortunately, the author failed to explore or even explain these possibilities. Otherwise, this book would have gotten 5 stars from me.

Be that as it may, I did enjoy the book. I appreciated the mental bond that Lisa and Circenn developed. The author portrayed the characters' emotions with a lot of depth and sensitivity. And who knew there was another use for tampons?

I would recommend this book to others, but only if they don't mind checking their sense of logic at the door.

Summary: Bad Ending.
Review: Karen Marie Moning is one of my favorite authors, and I loved this book EXCEPT for the ending. I was somewhat disappointed because I felt that the ending ruined my perception of Adam Black (who I fell in love with in Karen's first book "Beyond the Highland Mist"). The ending was also so unbelievable , it was like she was trying so hard to make the ending super-happy, and it would have been better if she would have kept the story down on the ground with a good dose of reality, instead of up in the clouds. Now, don't get me wrong, I know time-travel isn't exactly what you would call reality either, but that's a good fantasy, and what happeded at the end of this book is not. You'll just have to read the book and see what I'm talking about.Other than that, the first 95 percent of the book was filled with wit and humor and great characters. Time-travel romances are the best, especially Scottish ones, in my opinion. I do recomend this book, even with it's flaws.

Summary: A great read! With a twist that brings the characters closer
Review: This was my second Karen Moning book and although I usually try to stay away from the obviously "romance" novels,( the Outlander series excluded) this was a fun and interesting read. The fact that her heros seem to be blessed with imense proportions and the heroines virgins, of course added to the fun!
I purchased these books because I enjoy the concept of the time travel and the historical settings.
Unlike the Outlander series there is not alot of historical facts and backgound, Ms. Moning concentrates on the relationship between characters.
I am purchasing another just to check and see if all Scotsmen are so well endowed!!

Summary: Her BEST, I LOVE this book!!
Review: This is my favorite of Karen Marie Moning's books. I wore through my first copy in about two months and had to buy a second. I LOVE it. The mix of suspence and danger along with heartwarming love and friendship and family drew me to Karen's other books, but of them all, this one remains my favorite and it always will be. I have read over 300 romance novels and this is my all-time-favorite. It surprised me in that while a lot of romance novels aren't historically correct, this book was as close as they come.

I loved all the characters from Lisa Stone and Circenn Brodie, the main characters, to the mischevious Adam Black, to the womanizing Duncan Douglas, and I'm sure all who read this will also.

Summary: Will sweep you away...
Review: Forget sleeping, you won't be able to put it down! You will be swept up in this lush and passionate book. The author has a knack for creating characters you will come to believe in and feel a part of their lives. I have read many historical romances and believe me, Karen Marie Moning is a master storyteller!

Summary: A Fun And Light Read!
Review: This was a fun and light read that I throughly enjoyed. Ms. Moning has a flair for combining romance, laughter, and time travel in such a way that you find yourself drawn into the story and get lost in her world.

Lisa is working two jobs in order to take care of her mother that was dying of cancer. She is young and she feels as if she is missing out on life. One night while she was working as a maid in a museum she finds herself drawn to a relic and when she touches it she is sent back in time 700 years in the past to Scotland and to a very wet, and naked Circenn Laird of Brodie.

Circenn made a promise to kill who ever returned with the cursed flask but when he sees a very beautiful women in the most strange pair of legging he's ever scene, he wants to forget about his sworn promise to destroy her. Circenn is has his own problems he is immortal, has a promise he must keep to the templar knights that he is protecting, and he now finds himself drawn to the very lovely Lisa. Could his life get any more complicated? Why yes, yes it can.

Lisa wants to return home to her sich mother, but she is still finding herself drawn to the handsome Circenn. She is feeling emotions that she never had before. Soon they start getting closer but Lisa still can't forget her obligations that rest in the future. Can she have her happily ever after?

This book was so good I was sad to see it come to the end. I laughed, cried, and yes, fell a little bit in love with Circenn. If you love books that pull you into the story and location then you will love this one!
