Summary: All About Love
Review: I have read all of the previous Cynster novels, and was somewhat disapointed with this one. I found it to be extrememly slow, and somewhat boring. I enjoy Regency novels for the fun of putting myself in the shoes of the lead characters, and trying to imagine life that revloves around balls, routs, and houseparties. The fun of Regency novels is not only the main characters, but also of the suportting characters and the way they live thier lives. There were no balls, no real supporting characters, and in my opinion, the setting in the countryside was boring. I enjoy reading before bed, and a good book is one that I start at 10 PM and finish at 1 AM. This book lastest me almost a week, because it was so easy to put down each night after only one or two chapters.

Summary: I LOVE this one
Review: I just don't get it why people don't like this installment (comparing to the preceding ones). I like it as much as I did the Devil's Bride and the Secret Love. Of all the heroines, Phyllida is my most favorite. She's kind of a 'brainy' type of girl and she does show how to use her head to the maximum in solving the mystery (well, comparing to Patience's character in Rake's Vow, I would say that Phyllida is more charming and up to the same league as Honoria and Alathea!!). As for Lucifer, he's as lovely as his other Cynster cousins. Therefore, no comment about his character.

In my opinion, the mystery, although not that thrilling but does make sense to me, well, more than any other installments. I would say that it's as good as it is in Devil's Bride. I also love the way Lucifer and Phyllida develop their relationship and I really am impressed with the way Lucifer waits for Phyllida to learn to trust him (of course, before getting laid. It's just my conviction that people must learn to trust, love and then they go to bed, not the other way around :)) This is really my kind of romance. It's the closest to real life, the way they feel for each other. (FYI, I also love Julia Quinn's Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. So, if you like the book, you've got to read this one !!).

It's definitely a keeper!!!

Summary: I hope there's more Cynsters coming soon!!
Review: I just love reading books about families, especially when you know that there's another book awaiting you that has the same family in it! The Bar Cynster series is no exception, and Stephanie Laurens has created yet another great pair of lovers. Of COURSE, he has no intention of marrying, and of COURSE, she is headstrong and intelligent, and of COURSE they wind up in bed together before the wedding. It's a Cynster book, isn't it?? Nice attention to detail, fun plot, and of course, good little "naughty parts" to keep your attention ;-)

Summary: Interesting
Review: I liked this novel because it was not just a romance, but part mystery novel. I enjoyed seeing the two main characters' relationship and love blossom as they tried to solve a murder. It was great to see how tender the hero was toward the heroine, too, as he dearly wanted to protect her from the murderer, who knew that she might be able to identify him. It didn't have too much sex in it, and it had a lot of interesting plot. It was like an adventure with the characters. Ms. Laurens is a very good writer. She makes you see what she writes about.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I read "Devil's Bride" first and I think it ruined me the for the rest of the series! I have found all of the other Cynster males to pale beside Devil, and Honoria was a fabulous heroine. I have reread "Devil's Bride" more than I want to admit. Hopefully the books about the twins will be more interesting since it will from a woman's perspective. I think Ms. Laurens is a talented writer, but Lucifer's story in particular was stuffy and boring (although the romantic/sex passages are always entertaining!).

Summary: I loved it...
Review: I simply don't understand how Stephanie Laurens does it. The sixth book in her series is just as fresh and wonderful as the first. I agree with the reviewer who said her only complait was there are no more available Cynster men. Keep weaving your magic Ms. Laurens!

Summary: Here we go again: Cynster plot-line repeated once more
Review: In All About Love, it's Rupert Cynster's turn to meet his fate, and he does so in the form of Phyllida Tallent, the daughter of the magistrate in the village whence Cynster has fled to escape his matchmaking family. They first meet when she almost kills him, which I suppose is one way of leaving a lasting impression.

There is a murder plot: the old friend whom Rupert - Lucifer, as we're supposed to call him - has come to visit has just been killed. And Lucifer knows that Phyllida knows something about the murder, just as he later discovers that her life is in danger - which gives him a very good reason to insist on protecting her. And, being a Cynster, he does a lot more than just protect her. Which begins to sound somewhat familiar...

Here's the formula for any Cynster book: Alpha-male hero, dead set against marriage, does his best to escape the plotters among the rest of his family. And then, when he least expects it, he runs into an unusual woman, very different from the run-of-the-mill female in that she's independent and confident, and immediately he falls in love and wants to marry her. Said female, on the other hand, does not want to marry him - for various, usually not very convincing reasons. Cynster male then exerts multiple powers of persuasion, some not exactly fair, but the one thing he refuses to do is to *tell* her exactly why he wants to marry her. So if she's holding out for a declaration of love, she's unlikely to get one, and this is what carries the story, which could really have been over within 150 pages, on to close to 400 pages.

Oh, and there's always some sort of mystery/murder/crime plot, which generally gets far too much time and attention devoted to it, and which is usually pretty much paper-thin.

But clearly the formula works, since Laurens seems to be selling millions of the books in this series. This one's okay, although the murder plot dominates rather too much and at least some of the links were far too obvious from the beginning. If I'd read it as a stand-alone novel, since I did quite like Phyllida and Lucifer I'd probably have given it a three or four; however, it really feels as if I'm just reading the same book over and over again.

Chillingworth's up next in the series; with any luck, as he's not actually a Cynster, Laurens might not follow the formula for once.

Summary: ALL ABOUT LOVE?
Review: Sorry, people but you might want to pass on this one. Why? Well to start with our hero, who is called Lucifer is not the bad boy that he sounds like. However, the leading lady, Phyllida is well written. The mystery of who killed poor Horatio drags out too long. I found myself wondering when it would end, find the murder all ready!Hope this helps.
