Summary: Two thumbs up for Suzanne Brockmann
Review: I couldn't put the book down for a minute. It may seem like a large book but the time flew. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat with all the action and romance. I recommend this book to everyone!

Summary: Doesn't disappoint!
Review: "Out of Control" was a terrific read! I'm a huge fan of the Team Sixteen Navy SEALS and look forward to the development of each of their personal stories. The dialog between these two lead characters, Wild Card and Ms. von Hopf, often had me chuckling.

I liked the suspense, the heat, the sexy fun! I, too, look forward to Suzanne's next book and updates to the relationship between Alyssa and Sam. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the ride! -- Well done, Suzanne! Keep writing, and quickly!!

Summary: Could've been better
Review: Though I've bought a lot of books during the years in Amazon, and I'm an avid romance reader, his is the first review I feel compelled to write. I first read about Suzanne through the recommendations, I even remember a reader saying that if she could read only one book for the rest of her life Over The Edge would be it. After reading that, you have to imagine that the writer is an extremely gifted person, to make someone feel that way. That comment made me buy Over the Edge(3rd book in the series)and I loved it so much that I decided to buy the first two(which were fabulous, I even laughed and cried, and that does not happen often when I read)and this one.
I have to say that of the four books this one has been the worst, which doesn't mean it's not worth reading, it just means that it doesn't have the same way of pulling you into the story that the others have. So if you are a fan of SB and if you are following the series as closely as I am (and wondering what will happen between Sam and Alyssa and hoping that they'll end up together)you definetly have to read it.
I know I'm buying the next one and I just hope that it is as great as I have come to expect from Suzanne.

Summary: Wished the plot could have been more out of control
Review: Suzanne Brockmann's latest does not come close to out of control as the title suggests, instead it repeats its predecessor's formula in combining combat actions and sizzling romance. Savannah van Hopf's intention to strike a deal with SEAL militant Ken Karmody to accompany her on a trip to pay ransom for her kidnapped uncle Alex winds her up into the arms of Ken as his sexual interest. When he discovers Savannah's hidden agenda, anguish consumes him but his protective streak pushes him to go with Savannah - and then danger strikes in all forms. Terrorists, dynamites and guerilla activists edges in for a taut thriller, but readers will be more focused on the beautiful romance between Savannah's grandmother, Rose and Heinrich told as a side-story in the form of a publicated journal. There are no surprises - yet sparks and real chemistry between Savannah and Ken, Molly and Jones will endear Brockmann to romance fanatics even though the plot falls short of being refreshing despite her attempt to locate her story in the skirmish-rife Indonesia.

Summary: Good but not her best
Review: Perhaps the reason I was disappointed with this book is that Suzanne Brockmann raised my expectations of romance novels with her excellent Over the Edge.

Out of Control lacks the more realistic characterization and humor and romantic tension that made the earlier book so effective. After establishing an overwhelming initial connection, the central hero and heroine are kept romantically apart because of a simple miscommunication that could have been cleared up over a cup of coffee (although they spend days together). The secondary hero and heroine--Sam and Alyssa--behave so unprofessionally and out of character that I found myself rooting against them. The World War I romance, however, was the sweetest of any of her books.

Unlike Over the Edge, Out of Control represents much more a return to formula romance--hero and heroine fall in love for no good reason, are kept apart for no good reason and then come together again. I hope she returns to the old spark with her next book.

Summary: Sub-par Suzanne
Review: I have read several of Suzanne Brockman's books and find that she, like her latest work, is "out of control". Yes, there are the familiar touches of comedy (I especially enjoy how she lets us women readers peek into the riotous musings of the male mind) and the inevitable steamy romance between the two main characters, but I quickly became bored with the tired format and predictable plot. [girl in trouble, stuck abroad in unfriendly territory, NAVY seal to the rescue, flashbacks to WWII, etc.] In Over the Edge (her best book by far), she took what could have been an unbelievable plot and made it realistic. And she had you rooting for the characters' romance - while enjoying every snappy, delicious bit of banter along the way. I can only hope she finds that fresh, quirky, adrenaline-laced fun that was so evident in Over the Edge. And please, Ms. Brockman: get Alyssa and Sam back together! Every character pales in comparison to those two.

Summary: Depressing
Review: I found this book & the previous very depressing due to Sam & Alyssa's constant misery. In "Over the Edge" Sam sleeps with a woman, before his relationship with Alyssa. The woman somehow gets pregnant, they hardly know each other, he's in love with someone else, but they get married? In this day & age two mature people would not behave this way knowing that everyone would be unhappy, especially a child raised in this type of "home". I had hoped there would be a promising resolution in "Out of Control. Instead everyone's unhappy, yet the situation remains the same. This ruined the whole book for me & makes me hesitation to continue with the series even though I've read four previous.

Summary: good, but not her best....
Review: I have really enjoyed all of her SEALS stories, but this one was missing something, I think it was because the main characters slept together immediately without really getting to know each other first. I prefer a buildup and letting them get to know each other first. Plus at times I found Savanna to be silly and irritating. I did enjoy hearing about Allyssa and Sam again and really wanted the story to focus more on them, hopefully Brockman will write a book focused on their on or off relationship. Overall a good story, but not one of her best, try her other SEALS stories first.

Summary: Just keeps getting better!
Review: I'm a big fan of Suzanne Brockmann's SEAL books, both the Silhouette Intimate Moments and the Troubleshooters series. I get completely caught up in the suspense and emotion of her books. NO ONE does action/adventure romance better! And OUT OF CONTROL is no exception. It starts off with a bang (literally) and I was hooked. I didn't care for Ken Carmody in the previous books too much but he grew on me here, and Savannah was a great match for him. The two subplots were diverting, especially the World War II story, and Sam and Alyssa's story moves along as well, although not very satisfactorily for them. Can't wait for their book.

If you haven't read Brockmann before, this series starts with THE UNSUNG HERO, but it's not necessary to have read the others for anything but the Sam and Alyssa plot. If you are looking for a good, fast paced romantic thriller, you can't go wrong with Suzanne Brockmann!

Summary: completely satisfying
Review: In this series, Brockmann keeps getting better and better. She kept several plots going simultaneously and made me want to know what was going on with each one. I love the WWII stories. There can't be too much written about those courageous people, and I'm glad she is weaving them in. The humor made me smile--it was so realistic. She did a good job in the main plot creating a heroine who was both feminine and tough. She turned Wild Card Karmody into a likeable character without losing the traits she had given him in earlier novels. Everyone was so believable, and she gets even the minor details right. For example, Sam Starrett says "the wife" instead of "my wife," an unconscious distancing statement made by individuals about people from whom they feel estranged. How does she know these things? She must really do her homework. It left me achingly sad that I wouldn't get the details of what happened next in Molly and "Jones'" story. I think "Jones" was her most interesting character in the series to date. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series, which, from the sample at the back of the book, looks to be another winner. I can't wait for the next installment on the interesting plot twist with Bhagat and Locke, as well.
