Rating: Summary: He's Einstein with ADD, she eats bugs - Perfect match Review: Brockmann again pulls off multiple stories in one book with style and ease. A WWII romance, conveyed by various characters reading the same autobiography; classic gritty outsider meets missionary; a continuation of the Sam and Alyssa show-- yeah, Sam is deep in a hell of his own making, but Alyssa might actually be ready to move on; and the main event, Wildcard and a practical, competent appeals lawyer with a few princess genes. As shown in previous books in this series, Ken "Wildcard" Karmody is the geeky, brilliant hacker of SEAL Team Sixteen. Finally free of high school sweetheart Adele, he's prone to deciding he's in love with the McDonalds cashier before he even gets his supersize fries. No surprise when he jumps feet first into love when Savannah van Hopf follows him home; but things backfire, as they often do for the geeks of the world. Sure Savannah has had a crush on him for years, but right now she needs help ransoming her uncle, and Kenny is the only SEAL she knows. He's already asked for leave, so he decides to go with her even after he finds out her motive for the previous night. Over the course of the book they learn a lot, about each other, about themselves, and about what they want. I think it's the sweetest book of the series, and well worth a read. There is action accompanying the romance and bug eating, so it is safe to give to guys to read.
Rating: Summary: Great Story! Review: I have heard so much of her seal books and picked this one up and read it. Of course now I had to go back and pick up all the other books in her series and read them in the right order. I can't wait for her new book in November. I am now hooked!
Rating: Summary: I Want a Wild Card Review: This is yet another great read from one of my favorites. Futhermore, it appears Ms. Brockmann has finally reached her flow and has created a superb novel made up of one main story and several smoothly transitioned subplots that turn into an exciting, emotional read. Yum! is all I can say about Kenny "Wild Card!" After reading her previous novels about the Seal Team and feeling the blues for poor Kenny, I am happy to say he finally comes into his own! Now if only my husband could provide the tricks he can....ladies, read and learn!
Rating: Summary: LOVED IT Review: This continuation of her Seal Series was an excellent exciting read and I for one can't wait for the next in-stalment. Suzanne Brockmann is the only author I have read that have her men cry. I believe this is a sign of strength not weakness for a man to be able to cry..... Well done.
Rating: Summary: I really enjoyed it! Review: This was the first book I've read by Suzanne Brockmann and I have to say I loved it! I enjoyed all the characters and I thought they were portrayed realistically. I actually liked the fact that Alyssa is starting to move on from Sam, although from reading all the reviews, it appears I am in the minority. I went back and read The Defiant Hero which I didn't enjoy as much, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of this book. I'm looking forward to her next book, mainly because I'm hoping to see a sub-story on Max and Alyssa.
Rating: Summary: Adventure in the jungle--a real page-turner Review: When her uncle is kidnapped, heiress Savannah von Hopf sets off to pay the ransom. Savannah is ready to do what it takes to rescue her uncle but she's not too proud to look for some help--especially if that help can come from handsome Navy Seal WildCard Ken Karmody. Especially since she's had a mad crush on Karmondy for years. When they arrive in Jakarta, though, the simple ransom exchange goes horribly wrong. Savannah and Karmondy are themselves kidnapped. Almost equally bad from Savannah's point of view, the man she is quickly falling in love with thinks she is a mercenary witch. Back in the U.S., the FBI and Karmondy's Seal team are setting up for a rescue of their own. Savannah's uncle is the son of a World War II spy-heroine and the special forces aren't about to forget their debts. Author Suzanne Brockmann weaves together an exciting adventure as Savannah and Karmondy wade through the twin jungles of Indonesia and of their passion and distrust. A parallel romance between missionary Molly Anderson and pilot 'Dave Jones' strengthens the story. Indeed, the romance between Molly and 'Jones' is truly the more powerful and angst-ridden of the two. Some teriffic action, some serious jungle survival, and just enough of the continuing character development of the FBI and Seal teams round out the strengths of this fine novel. I found the outtakes from the World War II memoires to add little to the story and lack the emotional intensity of the present-day romances but this did little to detract from the compelling story line.
Rating: Summary: "Wildcard" is creepy in begining, but story is good. Review: "Wildcard", falls in love with this woman about 10 minutes after he meets her. Sorry, but that just gave me the creeps! Other than sending me red flags with "NUTCASE" in bold letters, I got really involved with the characters and could not put the book down. If you like action romance you should definitly give this book a try.
Rating: Summary: Exciting Action Review: Good fiction. Fast paced and exciting, and the characters were well developed. Hard to put down.
Rating: Summary: So-so. Review: I guess I'm on my own with this review. I tried Suzanne Brockman for the first time based on all of the good reviews for this book. I was very disappointed. I finished the book because it was the only one I brought with me on vacation. Otherwise, I would have stopped reading it and moved on to another book. The characters in this book weren't very likeable -- especially Wild Card. He "fell in love" WAY too quickly, and started making marriage plans right away. Come on. I don't see how that's an attractive characteristic.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfull book, vivid caracters, captivating intrigue Review: It is the second book from Brockmann I read and after it I bought every book of her I found on action or new. Alas, some of them I cannot, there are too expensive. She does write a story, waiving in it at least four couples, and it is not at all too much. It is like life: some come together at the end, some from the past, happy, others do not come together and she explains what is against it. Wonderfull! I feel, it is a lot richer than any other romances I read, and I do read a lot lately.
