I laughed throughout the entire book.My daughter thought I lost my mind. It was a light, humorous and sexy read. Who says every Coulter book has to be like all her others. Another great side to her writing. It seems to me that all those disappointed readers should get a life. This is humor at its best. They need to take it as such. I have read every Coulter book she has written and I must say I have my favorites, but this is definitely a keeper for me. So, if you're interested in a light-hearted, wicked romance try this one.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Disappointed Review: Catherine Coulter has been one of my favorite authors for years. This book was a big disappointment. It did not keep me engrossed at all. I almost quit reading it after the first few chapters. Not engaging at all!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Don't Waste the Money Review: I used to look forward to Coulter's works, but the last few have been a huge disappointment. I swear this is the last one of hers I will buy. Stupid characters, inane dialogue, boring plot and ridiculously overdone sex scenes. Enough said.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Ms. Coulter's Publisher Deserves Discipline For This Review: This book is just terrible. It has inspired me to take up romance novel writing because I know that any attempt I would make would be better than this. Speaking of romance, Ms. Coulter, where was the romance in this novel? There was a lot of f-ing but I missed the part where Spenser and Helen fall in love. The discipline sub-plot was just absurd. I want my money back.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: The Courtship Review: There is always a first for everything. I have always enjoyed Ms. Coulter's books but this book was a sleeper. The characters were flat and I didn't care whether they found love or not. The discipline sideline was laughable and completely boring. The whole treasure plot was downplayed and that is what we have come to expect from this series of books. Please put the romance back into your books and characters that you can care about too. Give this one a pass.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: What a disappointment! Review: Catherine Coulter's books have been on the decline for the past few years. They used to be wonderful, witty, and fun. Now, the story lines are slow and silly, the sex scenes uninspired (does everyone single one of her male characters have the same "problem"?) and the conversations strange (odd half thoughts inserted in a lame attempt at humor end up just being confusing). I had hopes that this book would be a return to her earlier style and for the first 3 pages, it was. It quickly went downhill, however. I couldn't even finish it. Please get a new editor, Miss Coulter, your's isn't doing her job!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A Completely Pointless Book. Review: I've read and enjoyed several Coulter books but this last book was completely pointless. The whole plot about searching for the lamp seemed a stupid and pointless afterthought. Truthfully I wondered if the characters had nothing better to do than waste their (and the reader's) time on something so wholly unimportant. The "hero"--while not as offensive as some of the bride trilogy heroes--was insipid. There wasn't any substance to him. And though I give credit that the heroine isn't the typical simpering virgin-type she seemed to have an aimless existence. However, to be truthful I can't complain much about the characters. There isn't much to the characters--period. In fact there isn't much to the novel. Period. If you removed the sex scenes, there wouldn't be a novel (and the book's size would decrease by half.) And, sadly, after a while even the erotica is redundant. After the third wham bam thank you ma'am performance in as many chapters I started wondering what was the point of the novel, then quickly concluded the sex WAS the point. The only point. Better examples of Coulter's work would be The Maze, The Nightengale Legacy, the Magic trilogy, or some of her earlier novels. This one is little more than love scenes strung together with a shoe string excuse of a plot with anvil over the head innuendoes about the "big" heroine being a dominatrix...though I suppose that's better than some of the near rapes featured in the Bride trilogy books.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Erotica or Plot Review: I was disappointed in this Coulter book. Genrally I really like her current fiction. This book though seemed like some of her early fiction, very light plot just jazzed up with highly erotic scenes. In fact it was more sensual than some of the supposed erotica that I have read. I would rate this a 4-star for erotica but for a Coulter fan only a 2-star.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Matching Rabbits Review: Finally, Miss Helen meets her match. But talking about acting like a pair of rabbits. If you want funny, light reading this is the book for you.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: The dumbest Coulter book ever. Review: A few books ago, Coulter began inflicting really silly elements into her books. It wasn't too bad at first, just 'racing cats' and the like, but with 'The Courtship' she has just gotten too silly to bother with. I very rarely put down a book without finishing it but I've given up the struggle with this one. Don't waste your money if you would like at least a little plausability with your romanace.
