Summary: The Best of the Series
Review: Okay Cynster series fans, this one is the best so far. I don't like to rehash what everyone has so aptly said about the plot. I will however add, that the review at the top of the page by Amazon has spelled the female protagonist's name wrong. It is Alathea not Althea. At any rate, you will enjoy this story, I believe, because their passion is both romantically told (not just raw) and mysterious. You won't put it down until the end, so don't plan on being interrupted to do anything for the rest of the day.

Summary: My favorite...
Review: Out of all six Cynster novels (so far) this one is my favorite. I liked the idea of Alathea and Gabriel knowing each other all thier lives. It seemed sweeter. Some people are a little perturbed and wondering why Gabriel wouldn't know the countess was Alathea but if you think about it it does make sense. Without barriers and with total trust he saw her for who she was. He didn't have to be on guard or feel he should fight the feelings he felt because he didn't understand them. She was like a sister to him and to him it was werid to think of her as anything but. As soon as those walls came down he saw what was in his heart and what he truly felt all along. Truly a great book don't miss it.

Summary: The best of the Bar Cynster books
Review: "A Secret Love" is the fifth and best of Stephanie's Bar Cynster series. These books have followed the same basic outline. Cynster is brought in to solve mystery and falls for the heroine. Then spends the rest of the book trying to convince the heroine to marry him, and solve the mystery at the same time. "A Secret Love" gives a wonderful twist to the pattern. With Alathea posing as a countess in addition to being herself, the results are humorous and involving. I couldn't put this book down! And that's the first time I've been able to say that about a Bar Cynster book!

Summary: Sensuality, Old English Style
Review: This is my first Stephanie Laurens novel and it consumed all my time until it was finished. Starting with Chapter One, it lent possibilty to an unimaginable situation. From the first, the building tension between the heroine, Alathea and the hero, Gabriel, grew to an explosive point. The anticipation, passion, and even deeper feelings make this a "read again later" book. In reading the reviews below, I found this is one in a "Cynster" series. Well, I'm going to read them all and I'll look forward to what will probably be the final one on the remaining Cynster bachelor, Lucifer. It's a really good book and very well written.

Summary: Way to go, Stephanie!
Review: This is the best by far, of a very enjoyable series by Stephanie Laurens. The story of Gabriel Cynster and Alathea Morwellan positively sizzles with sensuality, carried beautifully by a strong plot. I am left feeling impatient for the next Cynster adventure. Though I could not fault her earlier books of this series, I believe that with "a Secret Love" Stephanie Laurens has achieved a new level as a writer. Keep it up, Stephanie!

Summary: Blah....
Review: Okay. So I have read the five Cynster men books. My favorite is Scandal's Bride. I have to agree with one reviewer who talks about the books being about spunky women who know it all to and take down the mature man. Can anyone, please, explain to me the purpose of the Countess being covererd as if she was in a Moslem country and Gabriel making love to a women he could not see? I am guessing that that was supposed to be "romantic" but how many people make love to people they can't even see????? Also, is the fabled August meeting of the clan ever going to take place? What was nice about Scandal's Bride is that we actually get to visit with the Cynster men and their ladies after their stories end. I hope the book with Lucifier brings us back to them again. Also, why are the time periods so rushed? It is as if one man marries, the next month the next, and so on. How about a few years in between? Again, this book was, really, sort of stupid.

Summary: Definitely not in the same league as Devil's Bride
Review: I wish I had waited to buy "A Secret Love" until I had read all the reviews. Especially Janet Walker's of July 14th. I just couldn't get passed the fact that Gabriel and Althalea can be intimate and not know each other. Talk about mindless sex. I know the lastest in the series is due out in 2001 and I will carefully read all reviews before buying the next one.

Summary: Stephanie Laurens has another winner!
Review: Stephanie Laurens has written an excellent tale that fits in well with the Cynster series and also stands alone as a wonderful example of romance writing. Similar to the Mallory series by Johanna Lindsey, past characters keep popping up to the delight and satisfaction of this reader. The chemistry and scenes between Gabriel and Alathea were hot! But the sexy scenes are tempered with the emotional ones which makes their relationship more believable. The best book in this series so far is "Devil's Bride", however, this book ran a very close second and I look forward to the future books in the series. One of the best romances I have read this year!

Summary: Don't even hesitate-pick it up!!!
Review: Loved this book. I can never tire of the Cynster family. Just when I think that I have read the best one, Ms. Laurens does it again. This book has everything that I like. The heroine was not one of those "dazzling beautiful" women that I get tired of reading about; the hero and heroine already have known each other for a long time - it just does not get much better than this. A definite keeper.

Summary: Simply the best book I have read in a long time.
Review: This is the only book in the Cynaster series I have had the opportunity to read. I am definitely looking forward to reading the others. This is the most interesting book I have read in a very long time. I know romance novels tend to be similar in nature, but Laurens creates a different perpective. The book kept me laughing from beginning to end. I could not lay it down.
