Summary: Love is blind--with a twist!
Review: I really enjoyed this book. The relationship develops between the couple in the hospital without either seeing the other's face. That alone is unique in today's age of instant video and information--even 1-hour photo developing! Everything wasn't perfect for them just because they loved each other. They had some stumbling blocks that were certainly "different" from other couples in recent books. The plot was a bit far fetched, but that is why I enjoy reading so very much! Do I really want to read something that sounds like it could be my cousin's love life--I don't think so! Thanks, Linda, I read it in super sonic time!

Summary: OK for mass produced romance....
Review: I tend to shy away from authors who creep up on the best seller list a few times a year. I made an exception with Ms. Howard because I had so enjoyed her Son of Morning book. I wish I had left good enough alone. Jay and "Steve" could be a dozen of other couples from any book written by Jayne Ann Krantz, Danielle Steele or Jude Deveroux (or any other popular writer today). The independent female looking for her career, the macho, alpha male who some how manages to get into trouble. Whether they are undercover operators, FBI, private investigators, or CIA, they are all the same. After just reading Silver Linigs by Krantz, I could have switched both these stories with one another.

Thus finished bashing this book, I have to say that other than being repetitive, there is nothing really WRONG with the story. Steve's a likable enough guy who puts his all into his love for Jay. I thought the whole plot a little far out there and unbelievable, but it is what it is.

Summary: White Lies..
Review: I would go as far as to say that this is my favorite book (but then again they all seem to take that title), LH or not. I can't even explain how well the plot and storyline was. I read it in under 12 hours because I just could not put the book down. I had to know what was going to happen next.

White Lies is very suspensefull. very well written. very loveable. The characters are my favorite of all LH books, especially through the alphabet thing.

I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone.

Summary: Don't miss it!!
Review: Jay Granger has worked hard to build a life of stability in the five years since her divorce. She has finally achieved what she has sought and was never able to find with her ex-husband Steve. When she is fired from the investement banking firm she has worked so hard for, Jay realizes that her life is empty. So when two men claiming to be FBI agents show up at her door asking her to identify a man that they believe is her husband, she decides that it's something she has to do. Even if she no longer loves Steve, they didn't part on bad terms and she will do whatever she can to help him recover.

It was Jay's voice that pulled him out of the darkness. From the moment he heard her talking to him, he fought his way to conciousness. She made him feel safe and he knew instinctively that he could trust her. He doesn't have any memory of her though, nor of any time before the day he woke up in the military hospital. Jay became the one constant in his painful recovery and he knew that he would never let her go.

White Lies is a book that has it all. Romance and danger, love and passion. Howard brings the reader brief glimpses of Kell Sabin from Diamond Bay in this book also. The love between the two is fierce and passionate. You won't be able to put this book down until you finish it.

Summary: What Lies Beneath - perfect hero and great story
Review: Linda Howard is undoubtedly one incredible writer who sculpts her characters to finesse - and White Lies is no exception. Jay Granger is a compelling character who is strong and independent, reluctantly drawn into a web of turmoil when her erstwhile "husband" returns abruptly. Streaked by amnesia, the man lying in her bed claims to be her husband but what lies beneath is a conspiracy that will threaten to explode. However, Steve falls unexpectedly in love with Jay and his protective instincts drive him to riveting passion with Jay - and both of them are tangled in a web of passion that is under threat by white lies....

Linda Howard is sheer escapism and a real treat for romance fanatics. Her brand of searing passion and perfect heroes makes her books unique - which is why the trilogy (Midnight Rainbow and Diamond Bay) is that much a sensation. Ms. Howard never loses steam and the emotional intrigue envelops in the exciting story. This is Linda Howard at her best and definitely not to be missed.

Summary: more than expected!
Review: My first Howard book was Mr. Perfect....then on a whim I picked up this older book (1988 ish) and totally loved it! WoW...what a surprise!

This is the story of Jay....she has just been fired from her well paying job and is at home in her New York City apartment thinking about what she's going to do for work/money when two FBI agents knock on her door. They need her to go to Washington DC and indentify the man they believe is her ex husband Steve.

The catch is that when she arrives at the hospital the man she is purpose to indentiy is so badly injured and in a coma....he is so bandaged you couldn't tell anything! She knew that something is fishy but when the man in the coma begins to react to her voice they want her to stay and help him in his recovery. But is this man really Steve?

What a fabulous book!! I loved the story idea and the characters were very well written....I gotta pick up some more of her older books!!!!

Summary: Great Book!
Review: Not one of my all time L.H. favs BUT good to see the turn Jay makes to stick with the whole story :)

Summary: Loved it!
Review: One of Linda Howards best! I read it in one day simply because I could not put it down. I think it had a great start and an even better ending. Jay is approached by two men the very day she loses her job and is asked to identify her ex-spouse who was a victim of an explosion. The chemistry between them sizzles even before they know what the other looks like. It wasn't love at first sight as the first sight wasn't there for either of them. It only got better. It's a fast paced book you won't regret reading. The best thing about LH books is that none of her books are based on constant fighting between the main characters until the end when all works out. Her books make you feel good throughout... except Sarah's Child which I didn't really like because of the female character without a backbone.

Summary: One of her best
Review: Really enjoyed this one....the last book in a set of 3. (The other 2 being "Diamond Bay and Midnight Rainbow"). White Lies is a great mix of adventure, suspense and of course, lots of romance. Steve is a great hero, strong and battle-scarred, while Jay is a warm and caring character. A great read!

Summary: Loved It!
Review: The characters in Ms Howard's novels always seam so real and alive, and the principals in White Lies (Jay and Super Spy Steve) are no exception. The book starts out with Jay caring for a critically injured man she believes to be her ex-husband. The man is covered from head to toe in bandages so a positive id is impossible (or so the oh-so-nice FBI agent says). Jay cares for the man day and night, and finds her self becoming more and more attached to him. (I found this section of the book a little slow, but hey what can you expect when the hero is in a coma and unable to communicate.) Sometime during chapter three Steve starts to regain consciousness, and the pace of the book becomes noticeable faster. By the time Steve is released from the hospital, I was on the edge of my seat and biting my fingernails. I became so involved in the story that I could not put the book down.

This is another great read from Ms Howard. Just keep in mind that it starts a little flat, but it ends with a sizzle.
