Summary: Love?
Review: The book was interesting particularly as I am a law student...however, as another review stated, I really wasn't convinced Prudence actually loved Malvern and vice versa. They only knew each other for a month before getting married too, which seems out of characte for the sensible sisters. Fun but not worth seven bucks.

Summary: Different and entertaining -- 3 and 1/2 stars
Review: The early 20th century is an unusual period for historical romances, so Feather's setting is both interesting and somehow odd. I like it; I'm just not used to it, and I have little background knowledge upon which to evaluate it. Nevertheless, I look forward to more books written in the period.

Although this is the second book in the series, I read it first because I had run out of reading material and it was the only thing of interest in the airport bookstore. I found it engaging. Prudence Duncan is certainly an unconventional woman, and I have to wonder how far she ventures from the accepted mores of the day. Her intelligence and wit are just the thing to balance the agressive arrogance of barrister Gideon Malvern, who also happens to be a gourmet chef and a single father. There are few indications as to how Prudence will take to being an instant (step-)mother.

Feather manages to keep the romance at the forefront while sifting through the twists and turns of a libel case against the paper that Prudence and her sisters publish. One has to wonder, though, what Malvern the barrister would think of their unethical business practices.

The book is good, but not on my list of favorites.

Review: This book was better written than "The Bachelor List" though that one was good also.

Set in London, in the 19th century, this amusing romp through long ago will hold you attention with its colorful characters and great plot. The best characters in this read are Prue and Gideon, though I wish the author had given us more of the latter as he's one of the best drawn people to come out in a long time.

"The Bride Hunt" is by far one of the best things I've read in a long time. Also enjoyed two other books lately: Jackson McCrae's "The Bark of the Dogwood" and a book called "Ransom."
