Rating: Summary: It's Eve and Roarke's first anniversary... Review: and it's another investigation for Eve. This time, the murderer is after...Roarke. Eve not only has a killer to catch, but she also has to deal with old nightmares, but she can do both with Roarke at her side. Even after a year, having someone to lean on is still unfamiliar, but Eve's learning to count on it...on him.Robb continues to peel back the layers of her characters in this fantastic series!
Rating: Summary: ROBB JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER! Review: I am so hooked on this series of books by J.D. Robb that when I received the book, I immediately sat down to read it and stayed up all night(because I didn't get home to get my mail until 10:00 pm that day!). And even though I had to go to work the next morning, it was well worth a night without sleep! Reunion in Death continues to explore Eve's past and strengthen her relationship with Roarke (the best written fantasy man ever) and with her friends. I agree that the killer Dunne seemed secondary to the story, but that did not in any way take away from this book. Robb is at the top of my list of favorite authors now, not only because of the great "....in Death" books that she writes, but because she puts out 2 of them a year. GREAT JOB!!!
Rating: Summary: How Does She Keep This Up? Review: This series just keeps getting better and better! I will not write a detailing of the plot, as the other reviewers have done a great job already. I am always amazed at the high quality (and quantity) of Nora's books, and this has got to be my favorite series of all time. The plots are fun and the characters are always interesting. I almost feel like I am Eve's assistant (Peabody move over!) because I know all of the characters so well. AND I agree with another reviewer when I say "Please always keep a little Mag Mavis and Sommerset in your stories, Nora." They are like family! One sign of a good writer is the ability to write a book in a series which can stand on it's own. Nora is the master! You don't have to have the whole series to enjoy any one of the books, but I highly recommend reading them all! In order! Note: This is actually the 16th Eve Dallas story. Don't miss the short stories in the anthologies "Silent Night" (1998) and "Out of This World" (2001).
Rating: Summary: A little mushier than usual. . .. Review: I've read almost every single J.D. Robb book, and love them all. However, even though i love this book too, our beloved Lieutenant Dallas seemed a little more vulnerable than usual. The Dallas scene was particularly heartbreaking, but she got physically hurt one too many times. What happened to the good old, "Touch me and die!" attitutde? THat and sometimes i got confused, like when Roarke mentioned his Dad. WHen the heck was his father in TX????
Rating: Summary: The series keeps its OOMPH! Review: Thank God, I'd hate for the quality to go down. I have enjoyed this series from the very beginning and am now thoroughly involved with Eve and Roarke and their friends. Enjoy the philosophy behind Eve's "work." Standing for the victims appeals greatly to me. (ie Andrea Yates' children) I will read the next one and the next one, etc, etc. One little thing, when will Roarke learn to not go over her head?????? You'd think he'd have caught on by now......... I kind of wish there would be a scene that is reversed for a change. (just a private little wish)
Rating: Summary: Excellent Series Review: This book was yet another of J.D. Robb's excellent installments in the series of books featuring Eve Dallas and her sexy husband. The book has just enough action to keep you on the edge and yet manages that against romance and emotion that make you want to keep reading but yet dread the end of the book because then you will have to wait for the next volume to be released. Overall an excellent read.
Rating: Summary: The series gets better and better Review: This series is one of my all-time favorites and this new addition was worth waiting for! I would write a long review, but found that almost everything I wanted to say had already been written by sussarakhen--another reviewer! Read her review, please. I would only add the following: one of the most heart-warming things about this series is seeing the creation of a "family" around Eve. Peabody's parents are the latest additons, and they are tops. Although I would have liked to have seen more of Mavis, the child-man Leonardo, and the intimidating (to Eve) Trina, the only thing I really missed this time was spending more time with Sommerset! Come on, Nora, we addicts need AT LEAST three or four of those sarcastic scenes between Eve and her favorite nemesis in each novel! All in all, a fun read.
Rating: Summary: Interesting, but slightly lacking. Review: It was a pretty interesting story of Robb's In Death series. It seems that her last two books, Seduction In Death and this one, Reunion In Death has had a more interesting approach in telling the story. Both Seduction and Reunion shows us the side of the murderer and tells us their story as well as the main characters Eve and Roarke. Therefore, we weren't allowed to guess who the murderers are because it's already revealed, which is less fun for us, I believe. However, Reunion focuses more on the development of the characters instead of the murder itself. It shows how Peabody has developed both personally and professionally to Eve and the Peabody family shows up on Roarke's premises, minus the brother. If you're looking for a more romantic side of Eve and Roarke being shown, this is not quite one of those books. There is still romance but less than the older In Death series, but when there is romance, it's very sweet and intimate.
Rating: Summary: Better than usual J.D. Robb Review: IF you only read the first and last chapters you will miss out on a really good book. I have enjoyed how the characters have developed over the years. I look forward to Ms. Roberts next book and this one will be one of the keepers.
Rating: Summary: I Can't get enought of J.D. Robb Review: I recently read Reunion In Death. I find that the book very compelling. I can never put her the book down long enought to do anything. I will read them straight through to the end. I love the introduction of new personalities into each book the like the entrance of Peabody's Parents to visit Dallas. It was funny to see Roarke and Dallas manipulated into inviting them to stay with them. I loved how they deal with unwanted guest in their houseand the invulerable Roarke doing something unexpected. I Love the many facets of love between Dallas and her husband and the others she works with. Each year I can not wait for J.D Robb to write another book. I just hope that we find out more about the mysterious mother and father of Eve Dallas. I have my suspicions about the possiblities of whom it could be. I can not wait for the next book. Please Nora write another quickly.
