Rating: Summary: Questions Review: "A Bend in the Road" was fast and enjoyable reading. But I have a few quetions: 1) Missy had just finished mowing the lawn and planting a flower bed. Before she had cleaned the house in anticipation of visitors. And she had the energy to go jogging?! I would have gone into the house, taken a shower, and rested a bit before the guests arrived. 2) There is no leash law in North Carolina? 3) They never told Jonah? What happens when he gets older and more curious? If he is ever eventually told, Brian's wife Janice will ultimately find out. If I were Janice I would be pretty troubled that I had married and had children with a man who had committed involuntary manslaughter and had been deceived about this.Well, it was a fun book anyway.
Rating: Summary: I finish Nicholas's books too fast Review: I wait, and wait, for the next book to come out by Nicholas Sparks, and when it does it always tops the previous one. Once I start reading it, I can't put it down so I am done with it in 2 days. Then again, waiting for the next. This book was no different. You feel like you are in the story, you actually want to give advice to the characters. Now this one is my favorite. The ending is a little predictiable but it is still a great book. I love Nicholas Sparks, and now I can't wait till the next one.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I forgot to respond to a club mailer so I was stuck with this audiobook. When I found out what kind of book it was I was afraid I might have to give up my man-card, but I took my chances and secretly listened. Boy was I in for a treat! Yes, the book was a little predictable, but it was still interesting enough to keep me hooked. However, it did take a few "turns" towards the end that I wasn't quite expecting. I'm sure this is a great book to read, but I'd also recommend the audio version. The narrator is a fine actor and might add an element that the readers never experienced.
Rating: Summary: Slow paced story with a twist at the end. That's it, folks. Review: I was warned that this book would be a love story. I don't mind love stories. I just never expected the plot to develop so slowly and for so little action to be mixed in. It's about a small town deputy whose wife's death has been eating away at him for 2 years. It's also about a divorced woman trying to escape the embarrassment of not being able to have children. They meet by virtue of the deputy's son's learning problem (the school just didn't want to force him to study thinking it would add to the stress of losing a mother). I really can't say any more that wouldn't give the story away. It's a book that, at times, can make you feel like a schoolboy with a crush. But that's about all I felt. :(
Rating: Summary: Nice Romance Review: Being from North Carolina and knowing New Bern I enjoyed the romance of the book. I found it to be an easy, quick read however, I had figured out some of the plot early in the novel. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sweet love story, rather it is love between a man and a woman or love between family members.
Rating: Summary: Yet another OUSTANDING novel from Sparks. Review: I have read all 5 of Nicholas Sparks novels. His style is refreshing and his ability to draw you into the characters within each of his books is remarkable. I read this entire book today, unable to put it down. I eagarly await his next book.
Rating: Summary: A Bend in the Road Review: I always enjoy Nicholas Sparks book. I do enjoy haveing some read to me
Rating: Summary: Heart warming love story! Review: Sparks has done it again! I have cried during each of his books! He has quite a talent for writing characters people care about. The story is very entertaining, heartwarming and there is a great love story to boot! Sparks is at the top of my favorite author list now!
Rating: Summary: Absolutly Amazing!!! Review: I have never read anything by Nicholas Sparks before, but I felt that I have needed a change. I love the way he writes and it wasn't a book that had been "done before". I love books when you just can't put them down, and this I have to say was one of them. It is about Miles, a sheriff in a small town who has recently lost his wife. Just when he thinks he can't ever love again, Sarah comes into his life and changes it forever. Well, you'll have to read it to find out why, but I'll leave the rest up to you.
Rating: Summary: Utterly predictable! Review: I had this book figured out way too early on for it to remain interesting to me.
